Wall of Bone

Creature — Skeleton Wall

Defender (This creature can't attack.)

: Regenerate Wall of Bone. (The next time this creature would be destroyed this turn, it isn't. Instead tap it, remove all damage from it, and remove it from combat.)

Bubbling Muck is from the Urza's Saga expansion and therefore not Modern Legal. I don't feel like Cruel Reality is that great here because of the high mana value. Twilight Mire is not a good choice, because in order to get the you have to pay , or in this case 1 black, or 1 swamp. You can also get the same thing with swamp, swamp. When you say you have the good majority - does that include the 4 Phyrexian Obliterator ? Which ones don't you have?

Options for midrange cards - Wall of Bone , Burglar Rat , Brain Maggot , Blight Beetle, Dune Beetle , Fog of Gnats .

Here's a good card you may want to include: Gray Merchant of Asphodel (also called Gary). In this deck, I think it would be good. In your meta, I wonder about Archetype of Finality , although the high CMC makes it questionable. A friend was talking about this deck, and was wondering if Revenge of Ravens might be something you were interested in? Or maybe Stab Wound to make a creature less powerful and cause a constant drain?

The deck looks awesome! I highly recommend Entomb to find your Reassembling Skeleton or targets for your other reanimation effects. I also think you want some more reanimation, such as Animate Dead and Victimize. Wall of Bone seems a little weak. Other great tutor effects include Sidisi, Undead Vizier and Rune-Scarred Demon. Things like Crux of Fate and Black Sun's Zenith can be budget replacements for Damnation.

Good luck!

I am guessing Goblin Digging Team is a no go then huh? btw walls come in all six colors. Wall of Fire, Wall of Frost, Angelic Wall, Wall of Mulch, Wall of Bone, and Steel Wall so Goblin Outlander wont protect you from everything and your other cards wont always help you.

To be honest i think you should reconsider the whole composition of the deck.

Since the Honden are Legendary you can only have one of each on the battlefield at the same time. Therefore you could already cut at least down to 2-3 copies/Honden in my opinion. The Greater Auramancy is a great way to prevent targeted removal but against Back to Nature, Tempest of Light or Fracturing Gust you pretty much have to scoop. Also, the idea to ramp with your artifacts/color fix your mana is a good idea in general, but 12 slots is too much i think. You could probably use the slots better running removal, card filtering or tutoring for key cards.

For ramping, i would suggest:

Herald of the Pantheon: also acts as a blocker if you need one.

Cloud Key: can also be put on other card types, if you're in need of them

Birds of Paradise: ramps, fixes your colors and can swing in with a Helm

For utility:

Mesa Enchantress/Verduran Enchantress: card draw

Monastery Siege: card filtering/protection

Detention Sphere/Oblivion Ring: removal

Commune with the Gods: crafting a hand

Ghostly Prison: protection

Starfield of Nyx: finisher

Idyllic Tutor: tutoring for what you need

Other spells:

Serum Visions: filtering

Ultimate Price: removal

Languish/Infest: wipes

Helm of the Gods: potential finisher?

Blood Moon: rework the mana base a bit so you do have some basics, additional fixing with Darksteel Ingot. I think it screws most opponents more than yourself

AEther Membrane/Fog Bank/Nyx-Fleece Ram/Wall of Bone/... : some amount of blocking cant hurt...also the Ram isnt a Wall or Defender, so he could pick up a Helm and get to attack.

Of course, since i think you want to keep the Honden theme, you should adjust the amount of what cards, in what quantity you add to still keep the theme going, but i think some cards i suggested can help you out a lot. The idea to make a Honden deck was on my mind as well for quite some time. =)
