Mordant Dragon

Creature — Dragon

Flying

{{1,R}}: Mordant Dragon gets +1/+0 until end of turn.

Whenever Mordant Dragon deals combat damage to a player, you may have it deal that much damage to target creature that player controls.

Hellkite Punisher is a very bad card to cheat in. There are so many better dragons like Siege Dragon, Tyrant of Kher Ridges, Akoum Hellkite, Mordant Dragon, Dragonlord Atarka, and many others.

Glorybringer also seems to be an upgrade of Mordant Dragon , though they have similar mechanics, you're paying one more red for a 5/5.

Okay, I love the flavor of the deck. I think the damage aspect could still be improved, but I also think it's very hard to focus. So, I apologize for throwing all of these options at you: Gratuitous Violence , Fireblast , Curse of Bloodletting , Seething Song , Mordant Dragon (I think this would stack), Claws of Valakut , Jaws of Stone , Breath of Darigaaz , Cosmotronic Wave , Ashling the Pilgrim , Embercleave , Heartless Hidetsugu , Koth of the Hammer .
As for cuts, I (without thinking very much and just reacting to a first read through) am leaning towards: impact tremors, stolen strategy, vicious shadows, war's toll ( I don't think this will stack with mana barbs and burning earth, but I could be totally wrong), red elemental blast, sarkhan the masterless, and ugin the ineffible.

cdkime I do kind of want to cut Mordant Dragon but I'm not a huge fan of Chancellor of the Annex just because it's okay in the beginning of the game but loses a lot of value as the game progresses, until mid to late game when most opponent have a lot mana to spend and mana isn't really going to hurt them at all. but think ill go with the safe choices either Akroma, Angel of Wrath or Rakdos the Defiler which one do thing is better? lastly I just don't think one tutor is really worth it in a 100 card deck and if drew it mid to late game it would just be pretty meh unlike Insurrection which would most likely win me the game.

cdkime hello its me again to bother you with more questions, I have a few more cuts for you to consider Mordant Dragon for either Indulgent Tormentor or Resolute Archangel or Hoard-Smelter Dragon

next is Syphon Mind for Price of Glory

Lastly is Diabolic Tutor or Insurrection

cdkime I would REALLY like to put Price of Glory but I can't decide what to cut. I was thinking possibly for Disciple of Bolas but I know it would go well with Utvara Hellkite. I have decided to cut Tariel, Reckoner of Souls for Iona, Shield of Emeria and then Mordant Dragon for Utvara Hellkite next is Thunder Dragon for Balefire Dragon next is Wrath of God for Akroma's Vengeance next is Sire Of Insanity for Dragon Mage. do those seem reasonable?

Good but bumpy, sort of like the base commander dragon precon. I can tell you straight up that a five color deck needs a small number of basic lands, and almost exclusively lands that produce 2+ colors. Your mana fetch/ramp must be adjusted accordingly as well.

Mordant Dragon, while good, I'm not super fond of. Orator of Ojutai is kind of ehn IMO, mostly because while it draws you a card, it doesn't benefit from things like Dragonlord's Servant's or Utvara Hellkite's abilities. Taurean Mauler, while it is a dragon for all intents and purposes, it doesn't really add anything to the rest of the deck, only itself. Tyrant's Familiar is good in a way, but it relies very heavily on casting your general to be useful, and The Ur-Dragon is often better off not being cast because it's so expensive.

Thundermaw Hellkite I think is an amazing choice, as is Hoard-Smelter Dragon.

Cards I recommend adding: Thunderbreak Regent, Boneyard Scourge
