Invasion of Ikoria

Battle — Siege

(As a Siege enters, choose an opponent to protect it. You and others can attack it. When it's defeated, exile it, then cast it transformed.)

When Invasion of Ikoria enters the battlefield, search your library and/or graveyard for a non-Human creature card with converted mana cost/mana value X or less and put it onto the battlefield. If you search your library this way, shuffle your library.

Seems pretty solid. Not sure there's really anything to change. GW enchantment decks have a pretty specific set of cards to work with.

I wonder if Invasion of Ikoria  Flip gives similar value to Invasion of Theros  Flip. Ikoria can put the Fang of Shigeki out on the board on turn 3 which is probably better than what Theros can do in the same situation. Theros can get the Hallowed Haunting which is probably an important play for the deck. Ikoria can get out a Kami on turn 4 if you don't have one. Theros can fetch the Naturalist. Ikoria flipping gives a kind of Overrun finishing ability for a cheaper go-wide deck like this. Theros flipping gives a value engine for your enchantments for longer grindier games.

If Ikoria is the play then maybe you'd want some Careful Cultivation for the possibility to channel out some extra ramp on turn 2 which opens up Ikoria to guarantee a Kami on turn 3. The extra ramp could maybe help with bigger X values later in the game.

Does the Banishing Slash work without any artifacts? I guess opponents might be hitting your cards with Get Lost.

If you're running into a lot of Boros Convoke, maybe you want the March of Otherworldly Light in the main deck to stop their Gleeful Demolition on turn 2.

NV_1980 Yeah I agree, it was in my initial consideration of the deck. It could maybe replace Invasion of Ikoria  Flip? What are your thoughts?

Did not update the list for long so it's time to look through few cards from latest sets at least:

Cityscape Leveler - artifact version of Ulamog. It's cheaper and repeatable (attack trigger) but being artifacts makes it die from collateral Bane of Progress

Green Sun's Twilight - mini-Genesis Wave is... mini even if it's 2 mana cheaper. Choice to put into hand can be useful for Eldrazis though.

Invasion of Ixalan  Flip - minor searching effect plus minor beater if you can spare 4 combat damage. I think I pass.

Invasion of Ikoria  Flip - powerful card which has to compete with better searching effects in Green Sun's Zenith and Chord of Calling though. Possibility to have 8/8 beater is tempting but gives opponent 6 life first and that may be relevant.

Tranquil Frillback - another variation of Reclamation Sage effects. Versatile but requires for than 3 mana to compete.

The Shire - funny land for Food-based builds. No real use here especially when Ouphe and Bane are around.

Blossoming Tortoise - it ramps (repeatedly) and lower costs of a number of our lands but takes 4CMC slot which is one of the most crowded. Clearly better when using Rude Awakening.

Bramble Familiar - mana dorks do not really fit into Azusa but this one can turn into quasi-seach effect with some for of buyback. Too slow in my opinion.

Feral Encounter - despite being 2CMC it is designed to be cast on Turn 4 or later. Disqualified.

Flayer of Loyalties - this one is interesting. I'm going to swap second Kozilek for it and test how aggressive/oppressive it can be.

I absolutely love how janky this combo is, you definitely earned my +1!

Have you tried using Invasion of Ikoria  Flip? It’s a little more expensive to cast than Invasion of Ixalan  Flip and it might not be able to tutor out all of your creatures but it can find your main combo pieces guaranteed.

To consider:

Tough Cookie from Wilds of Eldraine fulfills the 3x food requirement for both Sam and Pippin, and works well next to Feasting Hobbit to support the beatdown side-plan. Noncreature artifact doesn't have to be food, so I could run artifact lands if I really wanted to get cute, but basics are probably still better. It also lets Witch's Oven and Altar of Dementia sacrifice themselves in response to removal, which is non-zero value.

Maybe dropping the Deadly Dispute and Trail of Crumbs for 4x Collected Company? It broadcasts itself in a deck that otherwise runs at sorcery speed, but the power level is undeniable. Would probably want a creature-based sac outlet that can be found by Company to get the Sam combo, since you're losing the ability to find Altar of Dementia with Trail of Crumbs (and/or a creature to feed self-mill for Sam, maybe Sarinth Steelseeker?). Another copy of Grist could find its way in as well, fetchable removal is quite good. With Company costing four the deck might want to run another couple of lands, too (same with Cookie being mana-hungry).

Another option is Invasion of Ikoria  Flip, which is guaranteed to find a combo piece (swapping in Viscera Seer as the sac outlet), is sometimes cheaper than Company, allows throwing in a silver bullet like Vampire Hexmage and a Dryad Arbor for ramp if you need it, and doesn't restrict deckbuilding otherwise like Company does so I could keep my other non-creatures around. A single Scurry Oak could find its way in for the combo with Rosie, but I don't like it as much. Not sure I want to play a tutor at all, though, since it's a casual deck. Plus it's monetarily costly compared to the rest of the non-lands in the deck. It does have the ability to get things from the graveyard, which is nice if I'm playing some self-mill to feed Sam already. Which I don't need to do (especially since I'd be swapping out Altar for Seer), but I want to because I like value. If Sam could get it out of the grave it'd be bonkers, but I think I'm pretty thankful he can't.

Hopefully Wilds gives me even more ways to play with my food!

Is there a reason you went with Assassin's Trophy over Abrupt Decay? Also I'm not really sure how competitive battles are but have considered adding either Invasion of Ikoria  Flip or Invasion of Ixalan  Flip? The deck looks solid and I'm going to add it to my saves.

One more thing!!

As far as cuts go, anything EXCEPT FOR the following should be cut in favor of a more streamlined strategy with some of the pieces that have been mentioned imo:

Blightbelly Rat Bloated Contaminator Cankerbloom Fynn, the Fangbearer Phyrexian Hydra Scheming Aspirant Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon Thalia and The Gitrog Monster Invasion of Ikoria  Flip Chromatic Lantern Grafted Exoskeleton Snake Cult Initiation Carnivorous Canopy Drown in Ichor Infectious Bite Putrefy Tainted Strike Command Tower Inkmoth Nexus Karn's Bastion

All of these are great picks that can easily slot into the deck's rework.
