Value Hulk

Slight overhaul, took out some cards in order to fit in Flash + Protean Hulk and some other cards.

Liliana of the Veil

ShaDoWz_6677, 7 years ago

Yesterday Liliana of the Veil found her way into the deck, and is a beautiful addition to making this deck more complete

Exploartion

Futuremonk, 7 years ago

In order to make this list more budget, I swapped out Exploration for Walking Atlas, which is actually more versitile since you can use its ability during your opponents' turns.

RIP R Tower

faseguy, 7 years ago

Replaced Reliquary Tower with Boseiju, Who Shelters All because end step shenanigans. At end step if you discard Dakmor Salvage you can dredge and draw the shit out of your deck. Eventually you'll need to discard Kozi for a shuffle trigger, but that's fine because when you got your whole deck in your hand you can do a lot. I'm not 100% sure you can win off this, but it's neat to have your whole deck on your next turn

Small breath of fresh air

-1 Banishing Stroke

+1 Swords to Plowshares

This change is, I believe, self-explanatory! No Path to Exile, for it is beter in this deck to give some life to the enemy ; Whats 5, 10, or even 100 life vs a horde of dragons, demons and angels? Giving enemy mana is, in the other hand, giving them more ressources to rely upon... It's a NO-NO!

Additions & Removals

Xarien, 7 years ago

Added: Forest x1, Disciple of Bolas, Bone Splinters, Back to Nature, Puppeteer Clique

Removed: Swamp x1, Flesh-Eater Imp, Tranquil Grove, Viridian Zealot, Eliminate the Competition

I think I have enough sac outlets, plus I felt like I needed more card draw the last few times I've played this. Swapping the lands because I kept having to mull due to no green for mana dorks.

Eliminate was too pricey and I never had more than one or two creatures to sac due to moving away from the heavy token orientation of the original list. Bone Splinters is cheaper and works about the same for when I would want to use it.

Zealot's triple green to use on the same turn was a hindrance. Clique gives me a 3rd persister with a decent etb, plus it has evasion.

Tranquil Grove suffered the same problem as Zealot, triple green to cast and use same turn. Back to Nature is instant and effectively costs 3 less. Plus, how often would I really need to reuse Tranquil Grove?

-1 From Under the Floorboards

+1 Skirge Familiar

-1 Zendikar's Roil

+1 Buried Alive

-1 Dread Return

+1 Black Sun's Zenith

Ah! The familiar! a Nasty-Sweet combo piece as arrived! Not sure from under was the best thing to cut out for it, might change, but the Skirge is there to stay! Burying my dudes is funny, can trigger some combo and no need to return them dreadly, for they are dredgy! Why Black Sun's Zenith ? I simply hate Blightsteel Colossus !

November Reflections

Updates: Kamahl, Fist of Krosa has been pretty great. It provides an effective alternative wincon with Elesh Norn when Paradox Engine can make a lot of mana but Selvala combo is offline, and provides a 6 for Yisan into Norn. Changes: * Blasting Station -> Null Rod - with the addition of Kamahl the Blasting Station line is less necessary, which provides room for more stax pieces. * Hope of Ghirapur -> Umezawa's Jitte - My meta is more creature heavy and Jitte serves a similar purpose in acting as a cheap legendary spell that turns on metalcraft. Jitte offers more utility in being able to kill dorks. * Palace Jailer -> Fiend Hunter - cutting Recruiter of the Guard and deals with Norn * Recruiter of the Guard -> Eidolon of Rhetoric - another meta call * Miren, Moaning Well -> Yavimaya Hollow - provides a little bit more protection and Miren's use case of sacrificing your own stax has not come up enough times to justify leaving it in.

Deck searching

Condenserhead, 7 years ago

Decimate is out, Enlightened Tutor is in. Getting to my enchantments (or artifacts if I need card draw) is more important to the overall game strategy than Decimate's four-cost removal.

New Edits to Ms. Breya

Took out some cards, added more mana rocks. Now I'd like feedback on the mana base. To me it feels off base.

I switch 2 Crypt Rats for 2 Pestilence

CaptDan, 7 years ago

I decided to switch 2 Crypt Rats for 2 Pestilence. Some deck have easy instant answers to a Crypt Rat, but few can deal well with creatures AND enchantment. Moreover, Pestilence allows me to use it turn after turn if I manage to keep a creature on the battlefield. After I sideborded in some Flash creature, I can rescue a Pestilence by casting them.

Gnaw to the Bone is a beast

CaptDan, 7 years ago

Gnaw to the Bone is a beast because you can cast it twice. Because it is easy to get 8-12 creatures fast in the graveyard, two castings of Gnaw to the Bone can give you around 40 lifes (2 casting x 2 lifes x 10 creatures). Even if your discard a Gnaw to the Bone with a Satyr Wayfinder, you still can cast it once. With that much life, my matches versus Stomp and Elves went great. Seriously, it feels unfair to them!! Against Red Deck Win (Burn), I need to pilot this deck better, but I think it is a fair matchup. Against Control, this deck needs to be piloted well - for example, you need to wait they are tapped out to play your combo. Fade Away is very good versus all matchup with creatures. I played vs a Elves who had 5 creature in play and 3 tapped out lands. By casting Fade Away, he or she had to sacrifice 5 permanents. This kind of play is mostly insurmountable for an aggro deck. Moreover, if Fade Away makes you sacrifice your own creature, it is not a problem, because you need them in your graveyard anyway.

Playtest

Marvelman7878, 7 years ago

Really been enjoying this build, since I fully committed the decklist to a mill strategy. Found a great combo that managed to milled half of my 2 opponents' libraries in a 3 player game.

The combo is Altar of the Brood and Undead Alchemist.

I first-turn cast the Altar. After casting 3 mana rocks on turns 2-3, I managed to get the Alchemist out before turn 4. The synergy between the Altar and the Alchemist was almost an instant combo, which only occurred to me when I reread both cards. It eventually led to me creating almost 40 zombie tokens in one round of the table. I was able to swing with lethal damage on both opponents, but with the Alchemist replacement effect, milled out their whole libraries on turn 8!
