Maybeboard

This is designed to be able to win as a regular midrange deck while containing a stasis lock

The Core:

  • Noble Hierarch: Untapping it to Quirion ranger is a way I can continue to get ahead on mana when a stasis is on the board. Exalted is actually very useful when trying to beat my opponent out under a stasis lock.
  • Quirion Ranger: This allows me to return a tropical island to my hand and replay it so I can keep paying the stasis upkeep indefinitely. It also happens to untap a creature when I do that, allowing me to keep attacking with it. It also has other synergy allowing extra activations of deathrite and noble hierarch.
  • Stasis: The namesake of the deck. It's a powerful effect that keeps my opponent at a disadvantage.
  • Green Sun's Zenith: This lets me reliably find my quirion rangers or Noble hierarchs, and unlocks a toolbox package that allows me more versatility.
  • Thalia, Heretic Cathar: This on it's own is a good card in many matchups, and furthermore, it allows for a tighter stasis lock against many decks.

The Support:

  • Force of Will: protects the combo, and Allows me to play at a reasonable pace and still be protected against big plays.
  • Daze : Provides a good amount of tempo, occasionally saves me against hate cards. It's also good under a stasis.
  • Brainstorm: helps me find cards I need. I have plenty of shuffle effects so this is worth it.
  • Deathrite Shaman: It ramps, hates on graveyards, stifles opposing deathrites, and provides some late-game closing power in case I never stick a stasis. Quirion ranger allows for multiple deathrite activations per turn.

The Green Sun's package:

  • Dryad Arbor: Green Sun's can be used as a llanowar elves.
  • Qasali Pridemage: Artifact and Enchantment distruction. The 2/2 body and exalted is also not unsignificant.
  • Gaddock Teeg: Opponent can't cast Tendrils of Agony when this is out. It has other applications, but it's mostly for Tendrils. I have to be careful with this one, because It also turns off GSZ and FoW.
  • Eternal Witness: This allows me to get back any card an opponent has removed. It's useful in a deck with a toolbox.
  • Knight of the Reliquary: Can search out a wasteland, or a karakas if I've boarded one in. It also can beat for a lot. can get extra activations or activation + attack with quirion ranger.
  • Leovold, Emissary of Trest: It's good against nearly everything, and resists removal.
  • Derevi, Empyrial Tactician: It's mostly a holdover from a previous build, but he still has merit It can allow my entire board to continue attacking through a stasis, and can also actively tap my opponent's stuff while I have stasis out.
  • Rafiq of the Many: It's experimental, and my only 4-mana target. IT seems like it has the potential for some serious burst damage.
  • Sigarda, Host of Herons: A big flying difficult to remove beater. With my previous build, it seems as though It was exactly what I needed.

The Land:

  • Misty Rainforest: They allow me to fetch Dryad Arbor, or any of my Duals.
  • Windswept Heath: They allow me to fetch Dryad Arbor, or any of my Duals.
  • Tropical Island: This is my most important land: It, along with quirion ranger, allow me to sustain stasis.
  • Tundra : More flexibility with my duels.
  • Savannah: More flexibility with my duels.
  • Wasteland: This is good for targeting utility lands, and It can also give me a good tempo boost on the play.
  • Bayou: It's my black source for my black splash I chose Bayou over other dual lands because I can bounce it with quirion ranger. This allows it more protection, and allows me to activate deathrite shaman twice per turn.
