Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion

Legendary Creature — Gith Warrior

If you would put one or more counters on a creature or planeswalker you control or on yourself, put that many plus one of each of those kinds of counters on that permanent or player instead.

@albert9367 thanks for the comment! Sorry for the late reaction, I haven't played in a few years. There's a ton of creatures that just add extra counters (like Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion), I prefer it if they are more unique (like Kami of Whispered Hopes. I've recently added the cards below the deck, and put the some away that I wasn't excited about when I had them in hand. (still working on taking more of these out, but I need to play more)

It's now even more synergistic between tokens, +1/+1 and rage effects. And stuff like Fiendlash fits in with my other 'weird' cards to keep things unpredictible and fun for everyone rather than combo off with +1/+1 or tokens every game.

Personally I'd suggest cutting the angels and the Gideon. As far as additions Branching Evolution Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion Realmwalker Eternal Witness are a few things that come to mind

Nice deck. I've done +1+1 counters several times but admittedly never with red (literally sans red actually).

Thundering Raiju would put in some work here.

Together Forever is a nice way to avoid commander tax and stay out of topdeck mode in case of a boardwipe.

Archangel of Thune ain't cheap, but is well worth the price of admission.

Pir, Imaginative Rascal/Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion would also be nice here in addition to the new Ozolith and Conclave Mentor.

The rest of my recommendations are rather expensive (and low hanging fruit) like Doubling Season, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger (I had no idea this card climbed to $60+), and The Great Henge.

Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion has been recommended to me before, I will likely just stick with Pir though, as they're basically the same and I really don't like Universes Beyond.

Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion

Isn't this another Pir, Imaginative Rascal ? Have you ever considered adding this card?

Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion gets an additional coin counter on creatures, which can be preserved and moved around with Nesting Grounds, Resourceful Defense, or The Ozolith.

Just put double brackets .... around the card names. That will link them, so long you spell the names right. I'm going to repost them here and give thoughts:

Epic Struggle - not bad, I guess, but if you have trouble flooding the board, not reliable.

Resourceful Defense - cute, but seem slow in a deck that you say already isn't fast. I like that you can move the counters off creatures that die; it would be good with sac outlets, if you are running any. Otherwise, it just becomes an insurance policy if your spores get nicked in battle or through spot removal. I probably wouldn't run it.

The Ozolith - this card always seems good, and might be better for this deck. It's cheap to cast (but expensive to buy), but again, probably not great in this deck unless you are running sac outlets, and sacrifice is a main theme of the deck.

Meren of Clan Nel Toth - Again, I don't think it's great here. Unless you are playing from the graveyard, she only offers spot recursion in a slot where more spores could be.

Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion - I do like this one. Low to the ground, and provides a useful bump for spore counters.

Deepglow Skate - not bad for a one-time doubling season. I think I used to run it, but traded it out to lower the mana curve. It's worth running, and seeing what kind of mileage you can get out of it. Thrummingbird is another consideration.

Adrix and Nev, Twincasters - I like this one, too. I'm going to consider it!

Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider - if you've got it, run it.

Inexorable Tide - this one looks worthwhile, too.

Nemata, Primeval Warden - I like it; on theme, draws cards.

Sporecrown Thallid - I could take it or leave it.

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician - seems too good not to run if you have a copy. Draws cards, proliferates, and can eventually remove problem creatures.

I'd love to see your decklist if you can post it. Maybe we can figure out that identity crisis and smooth things out. You should be able to get started before turn 13. It's not going to be a top level deck, but I do believe it can be fun and hang at a table.

Tur on People's Thoughts on Mommy Norn?

I agree with Sheldon to some extent.

First, it's incorrect to compare Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines's abilities to Panharmonicon and Torpor Orb. It's permanents not creatures.

(Nobody should care about the first ability, Yarok, the Desecrated is the second most popular Sultai commander and has been around forever. It's just extra stuff.)

It's the second ability which is problematic. Assume you play Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. Not only do your permanents prevent your opponents permanents from triggering, it also prevents your opponents permanents from triggering from their own permanents. This is the first card in all of Magic: The Gathering with this effect.

Here are just some examples, I got from scrolling through the most popular commander Atraxa, Praetors' Voice on EDHREC (I do not own an Atraxa deck.) which would be effected by Elesh Norn:

Just thinking about all kinds of interactions which are possible gives me a headache.

Honestly, the Painter's Servant interactions are much easier to understand and that was a card which was banned for the interactions being too much.

If Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines had the errata to "Permanents you control entering the battlefield don't cause abilities of permanents your opponents control to trigger" it would be much more manageable.
