I thought of the dumbest way for this deck to win: Morality Shift + Replenish

Gemstealer please don't post unrelated things to this list, it is quite rude.

Morality Shift is often vastly underrated and almost no one seems to know about it. If you want it to be lethal without having to swing you could add Delusions of Mediocrity or Illusions of Grandeur and just sit back and watch the fireworks.

What about Dragon Scales ?

Starsky2814 I was also interested in making a chromium commander but saw that everyone was going the aura route. With such a flexible commander there is alot of ways you can go with this deck. I was thinking about a lands deck similar to a Dakkon Blackblade deck. Using the new Blackblade Reforged , Crucible of Worlds , Land Tax. The goal is to flood your board with lands being able to cast big spells and sooner or later swing with chromium equipped with a 38/38 sword. what are your thoughts?

Well, that has little to do with this deck (refraining from irrelevant topics is usual), but to entertain the thought of Dakkon Blackblade as an alternative to Chromium, the Mutable, then you have the problem of him not being very effective to any form of removal or sweepers or blockers.

Onto building Chromium, the Mutable to put a lot of lands into play, we could run Land Tax, Walking Ballista, Crucible of Worlds, Tithe, Gift of Estates, Sword of the Animist, and a bunch of sub-par ramp compared to our artifacts, just to pump up a Blackblade Reforged, or we can run a Cranial Plating to synergize with the artifact ramp we already run, take you pick!

Also, Equipment though synergizing with Open the Vaults, since they don't synergize with any Replenish/Retether, they aren't veyr useful.

SynergyBuild I was just entertaining a different way to build Chromium, the Mutable. If you want effectiveness take out Chromium, the Mutable and instead play Zur the Enchanter. Same deck but 3 turns earlier and you play Astral Slide.

Hah! Necropotence every time turn 3 and you win with Shimmer Myr and a bunch of mana-positive rocks.

Sorry everyone, I’ve been extremely busy. I’ll get back to everyone at the end of the week. SynergyBuild speaks on my behalf, so all comments will be answered one way or another.

I like the Morality Shift idea. No one will see that coming. Also, considering Crucible of Worlds to get those lands back from the graveyard. What is this talk about Necropotence and Shimmer Myr?

Inanity, how’s your deck playing?

July 17, 2018 10:52 a.m.

SynergyBuild says... #12

Oh, it shimmer zur, the most competitive Zur list, he was mentioning that Zur would be a more competitive commander using Astral Slide, so I was just mentioning that if they wanted the most competitive Zur list, something like Zur Ad Nauseam Storm would be the way to go.

On another note, it is nice to have you back. Morality Shift+Replenish wins the game one way or antoher, but it is really big in terms of mana cost, so I don't think it should be run.

Crucible of Worlds is another card I don't think is nessecary, unless a lot of Armageddon effects are being run in your playgroup. You could use it with Cataclysm, and with a voltron commander it might work out.

It was sounding like some Aetherflux Reservoir storm, shenanigans. I had to be sure. Lol. Yeah, my concern with Morality Shift was that it is expensive to play, but would be hilarious to pull off. There is no MLD in my meta outside from me... so we’ll pass on Crucible of Worlds then. I know I can always count on you to get my head back into the game.

Ey!

Now one question, how about Enduring Ideal, it is a repeatable tutor, that can be used to toolbox out a win.

Dovescape will normally be protection, and then use Humility to stop creatures, then Moat or Reverence to stop being attacked.

This will shut off basically everything except Ulamogs or other eldrazi-styled effects from stopping you.

A Caustic Caterpillar or Reclamation Sage are basically the only effects that can stop you from winning after your first fetch, an ulamog or other stupid eldrazi is basically all that can stop you after your second, what you can fetch from there is Zur's Weirding and Words of Worship every turn you gain 5 life, and each opponent will slowly mill while you don't, you have to pay 6 life to do this, so you will lose 1 life per mill for each opponent. Daybreak Coronet and other such effects will allow you to buff a 1/1 you control, and swing out gaining a lot more life back, and slowing kill everyone through damage or mill.

The combo would take 6 total cards (Enduring Ideal, Dovescape, Humility, reverance/Moat, Zur's Weirding, and Words of Worship) and the whole combo is fetchable and protectable over the course of one turn cycle, 7 mana, and one tutorable card.

Sound fun? I am unsure if this deck wants this, but it could be fun.

Draknoz, are you suggesting that card?

It is a tad slow, requiring a land drop, and not giving mana, but if you have some other reasons or ideas to run that card, then please say the reason!

July 17, 2018 3:32 p.m.

No Mesa Enchantress or Doomwake Giant? Seem like reasonable options. Also, Idyllic Tutor seems like a good option for additional tutors.

Heartless Summoning seems a little bad here with Chromium. If you ever pitch a card to give it Hexproof and Chromium isn't suited up, it just dies to Heartless Summoning. It also kills your Snapcaster Mage when it enters.

As Foretold also seems like a decent enchantment. Along with Ghostly Prison and Propaganda since you are not running any board wipes, you need some sort of protection. A board wipe that you can use that doesn't affect your board is Settle the Wreckage or AEtherspouts.

SynergyBuild says... #19

Nah, Heartless summonings may kill Snapcaster Mage, but it's ETB still triggers, so it is all good there. Doomwake Giant is a 5 mana Languish best case scenario, if anyone cares, they will just remove him with a Nature's Claim or Swords to Plowshares.

On another note Mesa Enchantress gives little value outside of a Sram, Senior Artificer or Kor Spiritdancer for an extra mana, and we don't need the effects a ton.

I finally got to get some games in with Chromium! Official record is 2-0 before putting it away. First game was a little slow and won on turn 8, but I need to talk about game two. I pulled off a “W” on turn 4! Not bad for a “slow” commander. Here is how the game played out.

Opening hand: Mana Crypt, Swamp, Underground Sea, Talisman of Progress, Traumatize, Exquisite Blood and Replenish.

Turn 1: Draw Fellwar Stone, land drop Underground Sea, cast Mana Crypt, tap it to cast Talisman of Progress, tap that and land to cast Fellwar Stone. End turn.

Turn 2: Lost 2 life on failed coin toss. Draw Mana Confluence, land drop Swamp, cast Exquisite Blood. End turn.

Turn 3: Won coin toss. Draw Dark Ritual, land drop Mana Confluence, cast Chromium, the Mutable. End turn.

Turn 4: Won coin toss. Draw Auramancer's Guise. Tap Swamp to cast Dark Ritual, used the in mana pool in combination of tapping Underground Sea and Talisman of Progress for the , to cast Traumatize and mill myself 44 cards. Tapped out to cast Replenish to reanimate tons of lost auras and with it Sanguine Bond. Swung Chromium, the Mutable and won with the win con of Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond !

What a fun game!

Just testing to see if you’d catch that, Lol... I have no idea what I was thinking when typing that up. You are correct! I lost 3 life... NOOOO! I must have been thinking of the two colorless mana when writing off the loss, SMH.

Nah, you totally cheated, they totally would've won with that one extra point of damage on you...

Obviously a cheater...

Totally... No sarcasm at all in this post...

Yeah...

Totally a cheater... Show

Let’s just keep the cheating between us ;) I can’t have my playgroup knowing that I cheated them out of the game, lol. Cheating is the only way I can win at the table with these cats.

SynergyBuild says... #25

Yeah us big cheaters, getting that one life in a game you combo-killed in!
