The MH2 spoilers came out as I was building this, and I considered swapping the general for Herd Baloth since it produced larger tokens while being nearly identical as a standalone creature. Ultimately, I decided to stick with Iridescent Hornbeetle because it gives you a token for EACH counter placed on ALL creatures you control, making it considerably better at going wide while not becoming as much a target for removal. The "at YOUR end step" piece hurts, but I'm looking at that as a deck-building restriction rather than a strict negative. Most decks I play function with a lot of instant-speed mechanics, so this deck is a good exercise for me breaking from that.
