Some suggestions:
-
Your mana curve is extremely high, it's going to lead to most your games being very slow/clumsy. Most decks can only normally justify running 4 cards costing 4-or-more mana. Assuming you're wanting to center the deck around Thragtusk, i'd suggest playing a playset of those, and nothing else that costs 4-or-more mana.
-
Ephemerate is much stronger than Cloudshift. Also, if you do run Ephemerate, consider also adding in Eternal Witness (lets you keep recurring the Ephemerate every turn to reuse it indefinitely).
-
a lot of your cards here don't really add any synergy. For example, Crocanura isn't really doing anything to help your gameplan here. Similarly, you have a bunch of cards that only gain life... i'd be very weary about such cards, as lifegain is one of the very weakest mechanics in Magic, and unless you're getting a LOT more value than just lifegain, these cards aren't worth it (i'm referring to the likes of Rhox Faithmender, and weak payoffs like Trelasarra, Moon Dancer specifically)

Why do I only ever get comments when I don't check my account for a few weeks? Anyways, thanks for your feedback.
Getting counters on stuff is usually not that much of a problem. Most creatures either enter with counters, produce counters in some way or don't care about counters at all. Early on I usually spend my mana to cast creatures or ramp, Novijen, Heart of Progress and the likes are more useful later in the game. Sylvan Scrying would likely end up searching Reliquary Tower 90% of the time just like Expedition Map.
Depending on sequencing, the evolve creatures usually trigger on the next 2-3 casts. There is also a lot of abilities that multiply counters on all creatures, so they passively grow with the rest of the team if you play them early. And Prime Speaker Zegana will always evolve them. Crocanura is mainly in here because the deck doesn't have that many answers to flyers. If you have a more effective way to deal with flyers let me know. Same somewhat applies to Cloudfin Raptor, though its also quite potent on the offensive. Being a 1-drop you can almost always play it before your other stuff and grow it along with them. Battering Krasis I might end up cutting. Trample is a decent keyword and it can grow quite bit occasonally, but its severly outclassed by other 3 drops like Managorger Hydra. Main reason it's still in here is that there was other stuff I wanted to cut.

I really like the idea of this deck and the level of detail you've put in explaining it! I'm glad for your realism in explaining your infinite combo.
The thing that worries me in this kind of deck is getting the +1/+1 counters on my creatures to begin with. Is that something you have a problem with? I know the evolve and graft keywords can be nice for that, and Novijen, Heart of Progress, Zameck Guildmage, and Oran-Rief, the Vastwood are powerful resources for that, so I wonder if maybe some more cards that can tutor any land, like Sylvan Scrying could be handy.
Additionally, how much work do Crocanura, Battering Krasis, and Cloudfin Raptor put in once they're beefed up? I tend to be a little afraid of Evolve creatures that don't do anything special with their counters like Gyre Sage or Fathom Mage, but I love their flavor and I'd be so glad to play them if they can contribute to one's board presence and maybe make a couple of meaningful attacks.
Again, I love this deck's flavor and function. Thanks for sharing and keeping it updated!

Thank you very much for the kind words and for the upvote! As for Yargle, Glutton of Urborg, that might actually be perfect! I mentioned in my last paragraph that I was considering adding some more Species Gorgers and the primary reason was because I needed some tougher creatures, but a frog with nine toughness for only five mana is even better! I was already considering splashing black because of The Gitrog Monster, but Yargle looks like he would work better for this deck especially since he can activate the Crocanuras' abilities multiple times. Thank you for the suggestion!

Crocodile Tribal

I'm currently working on a casual croc tribal. I really like many of the things you did here. I'm planning on including Crocanura though, as it is an on-tribe card that negates the drawback of ammit and crossing.

Hey guys! Renember a while ago when I opened an Oath of the Gatewatch booster pack and surveyed the contents? (Oh yeah, it's right here!) Well I'm back to do it again, this time with Gatecrash! Let's get started!
For me, I wasn't as involved with MTG as much when Gatecrash was out, and I didn't open as much of the set as I wanted to. However, I still love the set!
I will be evaluating the price of the cards in the pack using TCG MID pricing, as well as a few of my own opinions on some of the cards opened!
I spent $3.54 on this pack, so that is our goal!
