What CMDR do you think would abuse Experimental Frenzy best? Thinking of making a deck w/ it... LoL

Experimental Frenzy

So, right away, is mandatory in the color identity. I actually wanted to make a deck that can not only abuse aforementioned card's abilities, but even potentially not use my hand at all! X3 There are mild errors in this case, such as having Lands for Mana, so I'd be better off with the Rocks (Is Rings of Brighthearth + Grim Monolith just as useful as Basalt Monolith replacing the latter? I kinda need an answer there, please...), but what mana should I use besides lands? & since Frenzy doesn't count its plays as "casted" I think we're better off w/ ETB/CIP triggers. Just some ideas if anyone wants to help. I've always wanted to make a CMDR deck with Experimental Frenzy as the main focus on the deck, but it seems so few have ever even tried to do this, & fail hilariously. I wonder what you guys would do if you were to go for this method. Thanks a lot guys! Now, Najeela gets her Revengence...

For the commander I might go with either Hazoret the Fervent or Mina and Denn, Wildborn .

Hazoret wants an empty or almost empty hand and if you get Frenzy before you empty your hand you could still get an effect from those cards.

Wildborn is probably the stronger of these two. Frenzy says 'play' so you can play lands from your library but after the first one you would be stuck. Wildborn allows you to play 2 lands and get access to other green effects that play extra lands so the frenzy can go further each turn before you get stuck. You would also often have more mana this way to play more non-lands.

I'm not sure what other specific commander might work but another good effect would be the ability to get frenzy back from your graveyard. Either to play or hand. The ability to tutor it up is needed too.

Rings works with either monolith.

Well this is tricky, I think DrukenReaps is on the right track though. So building on that we can establish we want RG for sure for Mina, Wayward Swordtooth , maybe Crucible of Worlds and Ramunap Excavator if you include a discard theme. I know, I know... "but discard is black?" you say. And so are a plethora of tutors so you can find your Experiment and employ it.

So we're on a "lands matter" track, should it also be top deck matters? That's mostly blue but there are alot of artifacts that fill the spot to scry, surveil, or otherwise rearrange the top cards like Scroll Rack and Sensei's Divining Top . So lands matter, Jund, so... Lord Windgrace maybe?

Seeing as you don't want cards in your hand maybe Hellbent cards like Ragamuffyn , Nihilistic Glee , and Gibbering Descent could work as well.

Well, I got nothing else atm, so hopefully this helps.

Obviously Jhoira of the Ghitu works the best as she can allow you to cast cards from your hand anyway, plus you'd have access to Future Sight and Magus of the Future which are the same card but better.

Rakdos, Lord of Riots , Nikya of the Old Ways , or Neheb, the Eternal are other choices as they make casting lots of spells much more stream-lined.

Xantcha, Sleeper Agent is a good choice if there's a card you can't play off the top of your deck as she gives you the ability to easily remove it. Scion of the Ur-Dragon is a similar option as you're given a useable shuffle effect to change what's on top of your library if you run into an extra land.

I use it in my Purphoros, God of the Forge goblin tribal deck and it makes for some very explosive turns.

@Mj3913: Sorry guys. But this guy already has a good idea at this point. It's ironic I wanted to put this guy in a Superfriends deck, but now I found a use for Lord Windgrace in this kind of aspect...

...I'll just have to find some stuff outside of for library manipulation...

Actually, now I think about it: Rings of Brighthearth + Grim Monolith seems entirely useless; even IF you can pull it off, you literally get Zilch from it after all that; & Grim Monolith 's Untap is too much. Now I think of it, How does both Monoliths be used by Rings of Brighthearth anyway? I already made my decision for the Commander, I just want to know how this works for Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth , & Grim Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth ; then I'll consider the matter compleat.

EDIT: Actually, both combos seem to have a link each. I'll check both, & then we're finished here; wait, Grim Monolith requires Power Artifact ? I wonder if there is a budget option out there; I ain't spending that much moolah... X/

Viscera Seer : if perhaps you include a recursion/token package.

Darksteel Pendant : Indestructible is handy.

Shadows of the Past : mana sink, scry each death.

Bontu the Glorified : again, requires things to sac, and a mana sink.

Catacomb Sifter : death triggers.

Crystal Ball : digs 2 deep.

Lifecrafter's Bestiary : still works for casting as it doesn't say 'from hand'.

Reaper of the Wilds : returns attacks via deathtouch, and on death scry triggers.

Nissa's Revelation : could be fun depending on how many critters you have in it.

Price of Fame : Cheap commander removal.

Doom Whisperer : Flample, pay to see cards.

Explorer's Scope : ramp, and land off the top. Combined with other things you can plan around it.

Mirri's Guile : rearranges top 3. Might be outside your budget though.

Sensei's Divining Top : Guile in artifact form, again pricey.

Cream of the Crop : could be interesting, creature dependant.

Grim Flayer : not sure if good, you'll have to decide.

Scroll Rack : another pricey card but it sets things up.

Gilt-Leaf Seer : rearrange top 2.

Vizier of the Menagerie : Pretty handy if you've got a fair bit of critters.

Galvanoth : While not top manipulation, it can be pretty spicy with other top deck stuff.

Riddle of Lightning : depending on how high your curve goes it could work.
