plakjekaas I'm trying to find a good source for my statement that isn't like five paragraphs long, but the upshot is that if it was a single segment, {W} would always be first, and {G} would always be last, so something like Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis would be {W}{U}{R}{G}, and Atraxa, Praetors' Voice would be {W}{U}{B}{G}.

To put it in slightly different terms, and in line with your point there, shards use the shortest distance around the circle, and wedges use the most symmetrical distance around the circle. The pentagon on the back of the card doesn't start with white and end with green, it loops around and connects, so that if black was on top, for example, it wouldn't change the order of mana symbols in a card cost. The descriptive order would be {B}{R}{G}{W}{U}, but Sedris, the Traitor King would still be {U}{B}{R}.

In the early days, it was kind of whatever. Compare Angus Mackenzie to Ragnar. Then, for a couple years, it was the {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} segment, on Fiery Justice and Nature's Blessing, for example. Then it stabilized in Mirage, so {G} came before {W} and {U} on Radiant Essence and Warping Wurm, with Invasion codifying shards (Treva, the Renewer. Wedges were "shortest distance around the circle, starting with enemy color" for ten years (Overgrown Estate) to Karador, Ghost Chieftain), then OG Tarkir codified the symmetrical "enemy color in the middle" that gets used today.

I like the idea of Nature's Blessing since it could give banding to creatures, among other things, but discarding a card each time may not be for the best. With that said, I'll definitely test it out. As for first strike and vigilance, I already have Brave the Sands in the deck and cards like Icatian Skirmishers, Champion of Lambholt, and Brutal Hordechief can make up for first strike.

What about Nature's Blessing? Card advantage it ain't, but permanent banding on all the creatures you want is pretty cool.

Also, banding works great with first strike (Archetype of Courage?) and vigilance (Brave the Sands?)

I just typed a really long comment talking about all the possible things that could be added to this deck and changes that could be made (like replacing Wall of Wood with Wall of Vines) but then I crashed and now the comment is gone. Rather than retype the comment and explain the combos, I think I'll just say the cards and allow you to see what I mean. I realize not all of these cards will work perfectly, but they could lead to some fun things. I really enjoy the deck you've created. Blaze of Glory, Fog Bank, Nature's Blessing, Order of the Stars, Perimeter Captain, Pride Guardian, Sprouting Phytohydra, Stinging Barrier, Wall of Glare, Wall of Kelp, Wall of Reverence, Wall of Shields, Wall of Vapor
