I made the following changes 4x Brainstorm replaced with 4x Peer Through Depths 4x Burnished Hart replaced with 4x Kodama's Reach 4x Seething Song replaced with 4x Desperate Ritual Mana base adjusted a bit Hopefully by using a bunch of arcane stuff I can get more mana out of Desperate Ritual than I would have out of Seething Song. I wasn't getting good use out of Brainstorm. I thought I would use it to stack my deck for Epic Experiment, but in practice I wound up holding the forks in hand and using the extra mana to cast a bigger EE. So, perhaps it better to sift deeper into the deck instead.

definitely keeping the guttersnipes, but took out lavamancer for gelectrodes, and liked the performance of perordain better than ponder so upped that to 4. manamorphose is also really good in here with snipe. I really want to find a spot for vaporsnag because this deck basically just has to survive until turn 6 when a phoenix can do lethal damage. The lightning bolts and rift bolts can be used early game for removal, but would like a little more. I don't want to take out the grapeshot because when you can scry for it and it goes off with a phoenix in play its pretty brutal, but that may have to make room for the snag. I also don't want to take out the distortion strikes because you don't need to remove their flyers if you make your 16/3 phoenix unblockable turn 6, thats game.

Ok so i tested this without the Hero's Downfalls in the deck since i don;t have them yet, they were replaced by 2xGrisly Spectacles. Definitely not as good, but they worked well enough when i needed them as a kill spell. This deck completely wrecked everything i went against. The only time i had a little trouble was against a B/G aggro deck. He just got really lucky and kept hitting me with Deathrite Shamans while i got overloaded with mana. I decided to take out on Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, i just didnt need it all the time. The addition of Necropolis Regent rocked i highly recommend her as a late game drop. Pharika's Cure helped but not in the way i had hoped, so im thinking about removing it, any suggestions for what can replace it?

If you don't care about having all commons, and you have a little extra cash, you could spice this deck up a bit.Scalding Tarn, Sulfur Falls and Steam Vents
could go a long way, though you have to be careful paying life with all the phyrexian mana spells floating around. Remand would probably be way better than Rune Snag or Mana Leak as one of your optional counterspells.
sideboarding a Surgical Extraction could help you get rid of their removal spells to ensure that you get to connect with an attack.
Magma Jet could be a good add, as this deck tends to dump it's hand fast and wind up top-decking.
Spellheart Chimera might be a good late-game finisher, if for some reason your earlier full-out attacks didn't connect
Izzet Charm is just plain versatile and great. and I dunno... Lightning Greaves for more speedy beats maybe?

Moving my Oct 25 FNM results from comments to update, will be wiping comments and updating again tonight after next FNM to evaluate performance.
So I just won first place overall at FNM tonight with this deck. 4-0
Round 1 I played against a gruul rampage deck with Kalonian Hydra , Savageborn Hydra as the center pieces with Ghor-Clan Rampager to buff, Ordeal of Heliod gave me the life needed to survive an 16/16 swing by the Kalonian, and on the follow up turn I was able to get 1 guy through the defense while he had 7 life left, the 1 guy was a 4/4 and I Dauntless Onslaught him +2/+2 which triggered another +1/+1 counter for 7 dmg, won 2 games to 0 with only one being this close.
Round 2 was against Selesnya lifegain to trigger Angelic Accord tokens, it was a somewhat weak deck, he had some flashed in defense and some Heros Reunion, I won both games by Hidden Strings his defense and swinging for big, while Swift Justice gave me the life needed to easily survive his swings. Win 2-0
Round 3 was against big bad mono red, which I play sometimes myself to great success. He had direct damage, I had Gods Willing and Mizzium Skin , he had everything you'd expect red devotion to have these days including several Stormbreath Dragon , I won game 1, he won game 2 with blazing speed and several early removals, then I won game 3 with Hidden Strings clearing the way and Ordeal of Heliod putting my life out of reach at 28. 2-1 Win.
Round 4 was against a guy who places top 3 nearly every week, usually he plays esper control and he's one who travels to all the regional tournaments here in Florida, has every card you could ever want x4, but tonight he played a red deck with a splash of green. 4 Domri Rade , 4 Xenagos, the Reveler 4 Stormbreath Dragon , Burning-Tree Emissary 's, Ash Zealot and more baddies. He won game 1 with multiple Stormbreath Dragon on his board, but I won game 2 and 3, in game 2 my Cavalry Pegasus flew my army over the top of his defending Boros Reckoner, and game 3 I got Aqueous Form on a Fabled Hero which I got buffed up to about 5/5 between that and saving him a couple times with Gods Willing/Mizzium Skin from Lightning Strike and Mizzium Mortars , swung for unblockable and won game 3 to win 2-1.
Finished 8-2 winning all 4 rounds and #1 overall! I'm the champion for a week with the cheapest deck I've ever used, hooray weenie shenanigans! Hidden Strings and Swift Justice were amazing, probably switching Ordeal of Thassa in for Ordeal of Heliod for some more draw, no need to be finishing games with 28+ life.

With this update, synergy with the cards was really pushed. Added 3 key cards to this deck Bioshift, Nivmagus Elemental and Ordeal of Thassa. The CMC is also lower than before, with only 2 cards with 3 CMC. I expect this version to be the most Sustainable in a match.

So i tried my deck out with one of my friends today and we played twice. If we both had an even hand, I would think that we'd tie. The first game, he beat me by a lot because I did not have enough forests to play some cards. Also, the mana cost was higher than expected. The next game, he was losing life slowly due to field advantage and we ended up running out of time. Is there any way I can stop the first game circumstances from happening again? i have a 2014 mtg deck builder's toolkit and due to the fact I already have 65 cards, I don't want to add more. Any suggestions for cards to take out/add?
