Chandra, Heir to Teixcalaan
+1: Until your next turn, your opponents can't attack you unless they pay 2 life for each attacking creature.
-2: Chandra deals 2 damage to each creature and to each planeswalker your opponents control.
-5: Create four 1/1 white monk tokens. Until the end of your turn, each creature you control gains prowess and haste.

Her name is a little nod to "A Memory Called Empire" for Arkady Martine fans. Thought it fit with the theme for Ixalan, plus fit the request for a sun-warrior type. My focus was on a Chandra who uses her fire to augment those around her, or to redirect an opponent, rather than just striking our for herself.
Next challenge, make another Chandra in whatever colors you like, to represent the mourning we might have gotten if Nissa had died.

Spelltable is great for casual Commander, but it’s pretty basic. It won’t add digital tokens, counters, or let you transfer cards—you still manage those yourself. It mainly just makes it easier for everyone to see the game. Kind of like Bus Simulator Indonesia—the game is fun and immersive, but you still control a lot to make the experience realistic. Check it out here: https://bussimulator-apk.com/

Spelltable works well for casual Commander, but it’s pretty simple. It won’t create digital tokens or counters, and you can’t transfer cards between players—you still handle that yourself. It mainly just gives a clear way to play through webcam.
Same vibe as for me: the core experience is solid, but you still manage a few things on your own. Still makes the game fun and easy to jump into.

Looks like a fun build! Seems like a lot of lands for a deck with some many mana rocks though. You might want to consider ditching a couple of Plain and playing Deflecting Swat and/or Fierce Guardianship. The Avatar reprints have knocked the pricing down for them again and they would both help with free anti-removal for Breya, Etherium Shaper

I think it's the kind of Commander that's very happy in a high bracket pod, so I had fun testing it other than those issues I mentioned! I've had issues with it in lower brackets where it's too much value for mana, but in Bracket 4 this is very reasonable, and it's a lot more entertaining than something like Voja, Jaws of the Conclave
.
I think tokens are more fun than something like Artifacts or Lands, especially if you're heavy on creature tokens (which can be dealt with more easily).

+1 You and target opponent each draw a card.

-7 You get an emblem with "Whenever a creature you control blocks or becomes blocked, it deals 2 damage to target attacking or blocking creature."

Same sardonic and unsubtle personality, different magical focus. I imagine this version of Keral Keep founded in her honor would be a solar temple mixing weapons training with magic, rather than a fire monastery with just magic training. Chandra might end up as after studying there.
Let's make that the challenge. Create a version of Chandra who augments her pure pyromancy with weapons and solarmancy. (Is that a word?)

Hey, Idoneity, fair enough and grain of salt taken; I'm just happy for the engagement and thought exercise(s)!
I think you and I have fairly similar deckbuilding philosophies; and for that reason I think I'd agree that Fertile Ground is definitely not optimal, it is sweet Anikthea tech though. And I think we’d both also agree that it's also not just stand alone card value, but also deck synergy that factors into deckbuilding choices; especially for EDH.
Between Ajani's Chosen and Archon of Sun's Grace, I'd definitely agree that the archon is stronger. But, it seems like I value these cards much higher than you for this specific deck/build. Oftentimes I see Ajani's Chosen and Archon of Sun's Grace almost like backup/adjacent commanders to Anikthea. They're additional token generators that reward me for playing into the themes of the build, and offer an avenue to close out games either after my graveyard is wiped and/or before I get good targets in my graveyard for Anikthea's ability. They can and will get out of hand without Anikthea needing to be played, and can force opponents to need removal before I even utilize my commander; which can then be followed up by falling right back into the main gameplan with Anikthea. Sure, by themselves and without the context of the decklist, they aren't going to be doing much; but when they offer additional value for a majority of the plays being made with this list, I think they become a lot stronger of effects/includes.
I have similar opinions regarding Mirkwood Bats, Grim Guardian, and Bastion of Remembrance. Outside of pure game-ending combo packages, and B4+ decklists, I typically consider cards that I categorize as ‘Finishers’ as the cards that will win the game if you have already gotten your gameplan going. They're not cards that are supposed to end the game just by themselves, in my opinion, but more-so win the game once I’m already doing a lot, by capitalizing off of my deckbuilding choices. To that end, I would argue that adding the drain/ping effects like Mirkwood Bats and Grim Guardian are actually raising the power cap, relative to a more alpha strike-based gameplan, especially since they ping when my enchantment tokens ETB; which is why I started to transition them into the list. Unfortunately Bastion of Remembrance is probably the weakest option since it triggers off creatures dying. But the fact that it's an enchantment, that also provides a token body on the side, has kept it in the list up till now. Ideally I'd have a much bigger suite of on-theme ETB drain effects; I'm just waiting for them to be printed! I'm trying to maximize the value I can get from the tokens produced by Anikthea ASAP; especially since exiling your own enchantments to make token copies is a fragile strategy. The pinger effects guarantee some sort of payoff that's headed towards winning the game without having to worry about attacks.
Palantir of Orthanc... I know I should cut it for something more on-theme, I do love this card though lol… If I were to cut it, I'd want to replace it with another piece of card advantage; this deck can be really resource hungry. Similar thoughts for Mindwrack Harpy: I'd want to replace it with a different piece of on-theme card advantage if anything. I actually really like Mindwrack Harpy and sure, relative to something like Rhystic Study or Esper Sentinel it's lower power; but it also puts in consistent work, especially in B3. I particularly like it because it typically offers card advantage during the same turn that it's played, and in my local meta having creatures with flying to block has been invaluable. I'm also a bit biased because I very rarely have had to worry about Mindwrack Harpy giving my playgroup card advantage as well, because up until recently I've primarily been the only one capitalizing off of my graveyard; and there is a good number of decks in my playgroup that care about topdeck manipulation so milling everyone has been almost all upside for me (we will see what the future holds since graveyard synergies are starting to become more common in my meta). In my experience Mindwrack Harpy has also gotten a disproportionate amount of removal thrown at it in my playgroup, so it also acts as a lightning rod to draw removal away from key pieces.
I think I'm going to hold off on adding Familiar Ground to the formal decklist right this second, but I am going to swap it in for Flowering of the White Tree and do a bunch of playtesting in the meantime! Thank you again for taking the time and energy to check out the decklist and offer your insight, I appreciate it!

The clown car is in there because I think it's funny, that's really it.
I added Roaming Throne for the extra redundancy, I like the idea of Ultima taking my opponents lands and turning them into wastes, so with the three cards you mentioned I can stack those triggers pretty significantly. It's an expensive add when I only have ONE god card, but I like being able to make two (or even four lands) into useless mana sources for my opponents.
Glasses of Urza is just a cute little addition, but I'm not married to it, same with Skittering Invasion, while Ultima does make most of my lands tap for an additional colorless, there's no guarantee these cards will be in hand when I'm popping off. Extraplanar Lens and Forsaken Monument can help along with the Rings and Basalt combo for mana ramp. Spectral Sentinel is just a call because of the nonbasic lands and the juxtaposition of the nonbasics my opponents will inevitably use, but another card I'm not married to.
That all said, I do really really like your point about the utility of colorless lands. Ill be tinkering with a handful of these suggestions and update the deck. Good looking out dude.

legendofa I thought about it but synth plays pretty poorly with the madness cards. Melded Moxite was also considered but it feels overcosted and doesn't curve into early imps or bone picker which is the idea behind this deck, backed up by tortex+madness bottomless grind value. The Tortex interaction keeps us gassed up and grinding through the late game without needing to waste slots on card advantage, giving us a snappier early game.

All 5 Princess Yue die at the same time, and thus trigger at the same time, but each trigger is added to the stack separately and resolve one at a time. In short, you'd end up milling 60 cards with the original Ruin Crab and the 5 land copies.

You're clones will always enter as copies of Agent of Treachery. What Rhadamanthus said is largely correct, however, if you choose to apply Infinite Reflection's replacement effect first, Clone will now be entering as Agent of Treachery and no longer have it's own ability, so that replacement effect no longer applies and you end up with Agent of Treachery. If you apply Clone's effect first, you'll then have to apply Infinite Reflection's ability as it's still relevant, and end up with Agent of Treachery.

Sorry, I didn't understand the first time that all of the secondary questions were also based on a Consecrated Sphinx becoming a Moon.
Yes, it looks like you have the right idea in all of those situations.
- In the first one, Copy Land would be a Sphinx with the added enchantment type
- In the second one where Impersonator comes back as a Sphinx/Moon land, its copiable values are just the characteristics of a regular Sphinx, not the Moon land part from the Princess effect, so any copies of it will be a Sphinx
- And for Vesuva and Thespian's stage, yes they would be Sphinges

Hi,
let's say I have a Princess Yue on the field and 5 moon lands, which are all Clones like Clever Impersonator for example. There is also a Ruin Crab on the field.
I then play Parallax Tide remove all 5 counters to exile all 5 clone moon lands. Then Parallax Tide leaves the battlefield and all 5 clone moon lands return at the same time.
The way I understand it the clones return as the original clones and not as moon lands.
Then clones then all copy Princess Yue again and die to the legendary rune. This still happens at the same time as far as I understand it.
Now my question is: When the clones return from the princess Yue die trigger and return as moon lands to copy the Ruin Crab on the field, do they return at the same time seeing each other enter or one after another?
Because that would make a big difference in how many cards I mill my opponents for.
All at the same time: 6 Ruin Crabs on the Field & 5 lands entering = 90 cards milled
One after another: = 60 cards milled
Thank you for your answers. Building Princess Yue ain't easy :D

Alright. Thank you already for the detailed answer.
The Consecrated Sphinx for example would in this case be turned into a land by equiping it with Blade of Shared Souls turning it into Princess Yue, dying to the legendary rule and returning as a moon land. So I guess Copy Land would then turn into an enchantment creature Consecrated Sphinx again if I understood you correctly.
Clever Impersonator would also copy Princess Yue, die to the legendary rule, return and copy the Consecrated Sphinx still as a creature and turn into a "Consecrated Sphinx Moon Land". At this point it is unclear to me what would happen if I Copy Land that. But from your answer regarding copyable effects I guess it would also become an enchantment creature Consecrated Sphinx again?
Would that mean that Vesuva and Thespian's Stage would also enter as or become a creature Consecrated Sphinx?
Thank you again

Rhadamanthus on What happens if you Copy …

Lots of stuff going on here, but the key thing to keep in mind is that an object's copiable values are its base characteristics as modified by the results of any copy effects being applied to it.
In the first question, the copy will just be Princess Yue. She has a different name from the one who's turned into a Moon, so the Legend Rule doesn't get applied.
For the Consecrated Sphinx question, it depends on how the Sphinx was turned into a land. If it was from a type-changing effect like Song of the Dryads then the copy will just be a Sphinx with the added enchantment type from Copy Land's effect. If it somehow became a land through a copy effect being applied to it (I don't have an example but there's certainly some way to do it), then the copy will be that land plus the enchantment type.
Because Clever Impersonator (making this a land is hard because of the restriction, but possible), Vesuva and Thespian's Stage all function by way of copy effects, any copy of them will also be a copy of whatever they copied. A copy of a Stage pretending to be something will still have the ", " ability because having that ability is part of the copy effect.

Hi,
what happens if I use Copy Land to copy a moon land Princess Yue?
I read that it enters than as Princess Yue again since that values that make her a moon land are not copyable values? Do I then need to sacrifice either of them because of the legendary rule or not since they are named differently?
Also whap happens if I use Copy Land on a moon land that was a different creature before let's say Consecrated Sphinx?
Or what happens if I use Copy Land on a moon land that was a clone like Clever Impersonator in detail?
And are those interactions the same for Vesuva & Thespian's Stage or are they different?
Sorry for the long questions but these are really complicated interactions :D
Thank you so much!

I was thinking about this some more and wanted to recommend picking up the Exquisite Inventions precon as your starting point: Exquisite Invention-UR Artifact C18 PreCon. Your local game store may not have it any more, but there are still plenty of copies available on Amazon/eBay/etc.
The deck is pretty solid right out of the box and precons are IMO the absolute best way to start in Commander. Plus almost all the cards you list above would slot in, once you get to the point you want to upgrade the deck. At that point you'll also know if you want Saheeli, the Gifted
, Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer
, Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice
, or someone TOTALLY different in the Command Zone.
Cheers!
