Vish, it's needed to make sure that you get Battle of Wits out on the field before you hit that 200 mark otherwise this deck is a waste of time.
He may not find battle of wits before he go's through 50 but with the 16 tutoring cards he's running, that's okay. As long as he gets 1 of the 16 tutors he's good to go.
is the 1x Elixir of Immortality the only thing that will save you from having a failed deck after your decklist goes below 200?

Okay I just had a few playtests against my current standard deck. Out of four games I won them all, the first 2 your deck got overwhelmed the 3rd you got mana screwed (after mulluganing down to 4) 4th game was very close and could have gone either way.
The difference was that in the 4th game you had a good mix of control and a decent amount of mana. You were able to counter my early pod (twice) you kept wiping the board clear of creatures (even with a garruk out) and eventually Rune-Scarred Demon ed. If it hadnt of been for my Phyrexian Metamorph you would have had me.
Therefore I think it needs more land and more control elements. I think you can find the room by trimming some of the fat in your less efficient draw spells. You could also perhaps loose around 4 tutor elements as I was having no trouble finding the Battle of Wits ...
+1 anyway I think its close to competitive.
