Well this is my Abzan modular artifact deck for Modern format.

How it works:With the recent addition of Aether Revolt we practically got access to a whole new color for artifact decks. Before the green artifact focused cards were powerful but too high mana cost for practical use in modern. Not anymore, with the new card Winding Constrictor we can pull some interesting artifact builds that are outside of the typical affinity meta. This build focuses on +1/+1 counters and getting multiple triggers from them if possible. As such we are able to go back into some underused Modular artifact creatures. As these will proc at least twice. So we end up with a rather fun new way to play artifacts, enjoy!

Possible changes: Necroplasm I know this looks dumb but... it might work with the destruction missing most of the deck and jumping straight to cmc 3 kill. And in modern we have a lot of dangerous threats at 3...

Pseudo Combo and synergys Show

• Blade of the Bloodchief + Walking Ballista: Very powerful when set as any creature played can be destroyed if it's power is less than Ballista. Combine with Animation Module and Hardened Scales for a pump equal to mana available.

• Use of Hangarback Walker + Steel Overseer + Throne of Geth: This exploits the stack to get far greater value out of these 3. First activate Throne by tapping and sac Walker. Then in response to the ability, Tap Overseer. The thopters are already in play because the costs paid do not use the stack. So the Overseer puts the counters on the thopters and then the proliferation resolves increasing the counters on the thopters.

Just got done in a match vs a $1.6k Deathshadow aggro deck in a tourny and smashed it fantastically this is the same shadow deck that made 1st place in a recent tourny SCG Classic - Indianapolis deck is this http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/12-03-17-death-shadow-aggro/playtest/

Just General Info Show

I have done testing on more meta decks such as: zoo, jund, affinity, and a few others. From testing I have concluded that this deck (in current build) can for the most part deal with most popular decks. With a minor issue concerning burn killing to fast (but only if it 100% ignores all creatures played). In response to how removal heavy the format is, I have added Grim Affliction while it does not remove threats such as termy. It does a good job dealing with smaller enablers many decks run. And the added benefit of proliferate is huge.Oh slight side note: it's possible to do 93 damage on turn 5 most of it being unpreventable.

Slight Side note for budget options:Yes I know this deck is expensive but we have alternatives for some!Firstly Thrummingbird is nearly $10 less than Steel Overseer for not much downside so that's roughly +$40 saved!Arcbound Ravager is a big part of the cost so I feel a possible alternative should be provided we have: Syndicate Trafficker or Carrion Feeder both work surprisingly well.

About the sideboard Show

• Blade of the Bloodchief: Is anti burn and heavy removal, basically is things are not sticking around add em
• Festercreep: A rather intresting form of board-wipe not necessarily needed versus anything in specific but still a good option to have available.
• Grim Affliction: Low Power creature removal ie Melira, Sylvok Outcast and gains tempo on +1/+1 counters.
• Inspiring Call: If matches are turning into slugfests this can be huge with on average 4 cards for 3 mana.
• Leonin Elder: A strange inclusion but just use it on affinity and enjoy a easy win. The difference in life becomes massive.
• Oona's Blackguard: Screws with control decks punishing their hands by forcing them into a topdeck game.
• Scavenging Ooze: Just to mess with jund decks that run termy and it gets large as well.
