Prime Speaker Zegana card draw went out of control easily, replaced with Fathom Mage and Give / Take

Thanks to a fruitful trip to Gencon, my deck is now complete. I am still lacking 6 shock lands, but at the prices they are currently, I'm in no hurry.

Revison 2.0

Sherpa_Rage, 10 years ago

This is the first revision I have done of this EDH deck. I have not had a chance to play this yet with some of the decks I normal play against of my friends but I have high hopes for it. I may look at redoing the back bone of this deck in the future and possibly a general swap.

FNM Results

WakingPhoenix, 10 years ago

Just tried this deck out at fnm yesterday for a standard deck. It went pretty well and I went 3-1 and scored 5th overall. The one deck I lost a round to was american control on account of in the first game I got mana screwed and the second game I completely got mana flooded. If anyone has ideas on what I could improve or do better the help is definitely appreciated!!!!

Build 2

kylebv, 10 years ago

New build includes some Vault of the Archangel and Sorin, Lord of Innistrad by removing Searing Spear and one Legion Loyalist.

Pureguns, 10 years ago

So the FNM on the 16th was a horrible day. I went 1-4 my only win being the by I got... I added 4 Supreme Verdict and 2 AEtherling. Trying to move away from the walls idea. Also I found another Bane to my deck... Big Creatures 1 after another. Also early game... So many holes forming. I don't know where to start to fix what...

We went 2-0. Game 1 we were just WAY too aggressive for him he really didn't stand much of a chance. Game 2. I made some serious misplays... but we still pull it out because he couldn't deal with all the beef i was throwing down. I even forgot about my skellie at one point and missed out on 6 free damage by not going in with my vigaliance guy twice(3 dmg each time)!. He must have boarded in a ton of those 1/4 defender dudes... i was just glad he didn't have more combat tricks..(he probably boarded em out for those creatures) otherwise i could have been in some trouble.

Fixing

conmann83, 10 years ago

Ended up cutting Talrand for more Restoration Angels, added Encroaching Wastes over Mutavault, as it is a good way to deal with wolf run, cavern, drownyard and other brutal lands. Celestial Flare is in the sideboard for more ways to deal with bant hexproof nonsense.

Switching it Up a Little

sparklypants, 10 years ago

In an effort to make this deck more of a fun casual deck rather than one whose sole goal is winning, I have removed 2 Mossbridge Trolls, the Thornscape Apprentice, and the Savageborn Hydra in favor of unique individual cards I obtained through trades such as Liege of the Tangle, Primeval Titan, and Protean Hydra. Please make any further suggestions for cards that would be fun to play in this deck given the same strategy as before, but may not necessarily win on their own. Thank you so much!

A quick bump to write about some changes I made to the deck. I played against some REALLY fast elf decks that made me wish I had some more removal on my deck so I decided to add some Path to Exile.

Match 3: 0-2 vs. landot

Goody, 10 years ago

Opponent drafted Grixis tempo.

Game 1, he curves out nicely while we stumble drawing lands and mediocre cards. We remove some of his things, but an early Rakdos Drake and Carnage Gladiator deals a lot of damage, then trades for our two Skylashers with help from Warped Physique, and we can't deal with the subsequent Maze Glider.

Game 2, he Turn / Burns our Kraul Warrior, plays Rakdos Drake, and once again deals quite a bit of damage. We get a turn 6 Deadbridge Chant that puts out some creatures, but then we get massively flooded with lands - none of them red. The game ends with a Blast of Genius dealing 6 to our dome.
