Mutilate is absolutely terrible in this deck if that first match is indicative of how many swamps I'm going to get with the current mana base. Deck needs serious tweaking. Possibly going to cut the drownyards entirely.

Took out the Balefire and Utvara, along with the Devils Plays and 2 Incinerates. Added 3 Thunderous Wrath's and 3 Epic Experiment. Found that I never got a long enough game to get the expensive guys out, and thunderous wraths and EE better fit the straight up burn, which is my only win condition.

This deck does surprisingly well against control decks. The tokens created even by countered spells is a big plus. I've moved the Scavenging Oozes to the sideboard but these will come in against any control decks, especially as an answer to annoying flashback Lingering Souls. Against very aggressive decks like Gruul Aggro this deck wants to be the control deck. The lifegain from Trostani really helped, so I've gone back to x2 Trostani. Adding Abundant Growth helped smooth out the 3 color mana curve, which is heavy on two color spells.

So thus far my freinds havent been able to cope with this deck. (one didnt belive the forced draw on and empty library was a win) Only with the exception of one who runs R/B agrro deck. Ive added a few "gain life" cards but am still hunting for nasty, almost mean Mill cards like Glimpse the Unthikable or Tunnel vision w/ Spin into Myth combo. Any sugestions are welcome, Pros, Cons ect. Not bad for my first deck ever... my only complaint so far is its alil slow starting, and my sideboard is to chubby.

Some more changes have occurred. All of the following 2x Faithless Looting 4x Swerve 4x Dispel are out of the deck. They are now replaced by 4x Remand 4x Gitaxian Probe +2x more Sleight Of Hand This allows for both more card draw, knowledge of my opponents answers and protection of the combo.

Pit Dweller is doing okay. I SB it out against any removal. I played an Esper deck at game day and this performed horribly against it. Most decks at my LGS are creature-based and this deck has the best matchup against those, but against Esper, most spells are dead and I can't do anything after SB either.

Added 4 Thraben Sentries and took out 4 lands, for dat trample. Also swapped out some Oblivion Ring and put Zealous Persecution on the sideboard

Awesome early damage

Opening hand I had 2 mountains, a forst, a Seething Song, 2 Colossal Mights, and a Thundermaw Hellkite. Third turn played the Seething Song, followed by the Thundermaw Hellkite, killed one of the opponent's 2/1 fliers and dealt 5 damage. 4th Turn, attacked with Thundermaw again, and had played my 4th mana to play Colossal Might twice, making the attacking Thundermaw a 13/9 flying. My team-mate also attacked with a 2/2 flying; so by the end of the 4th turn my opponents had taken 20 damage total, 15 from 4th turn alone.

Unfortunately on 5th turn they got some flying defenders (1st a Wall of Denial which is one of my personal favorites / hate to play against; then a Fog Bank) & from turn 5 onward I drew mana, and their defense just improved until they killed us.

Stellar opening hand though!!

Into the Wilds feature for JizzleDragons

I removed Soul of the Harvest and added another Garruk as I felt he did the job way more effectively seeing as i almost always have atleast one creature with atleast 5 power on the field. I also traded my Searing Spears for Mizzium Mortars as I usually have shitloads of mana and always seemed to use them for creature removal anyway. I added the Elderscale Wurm into main deck.

I had the opportunity to play a few multiplayer games with friends, it was pretty brutal. Their decks aren't bad, they just aren't super competitive EDH decks at the moment. One of the guys I don't play with very often mentioned that "if he spent a bunch of money on cards his deck would be good too." It almost hurt my feelings, except that I only recently splurged on some linchpin cards cough cough Avacyn, Angel of Hope. The fact that the last time him and I played he ate my werewolf deck up with a soldier/equipment deck (and enjoyed it) took a lil sting out of his comments too. That being said, I may start carrying a "fun with Kaalia" sideboard and look for some crazy spells that will make the game play ridiculous. When the other decks have hardly any burn and I don't worry about dropping Kaalia with protection, something is wrong. Here are some highlights from what I remember.

The good-

The combination of Mycosynth Lattice and Hellkite Tyrant worked exactly how I thought it would work. It also didn't win me very many friends at the table. I can't wait to drop it with a world at war sometime.

"I'll take that" even without the lattice in play the hellkite tyrant is a handful for others and a boon for me. Used it to steal Darksteel Plate from someone and equip Kaalia with it. Two turns later the guy I stole it from tried to stop the beating by using Disenchant on the darksteel plate, I laughed.

The Bad-

Ended up knocking out someone else with the combination of Kaalia and Master of Cruelties. It wasn't until it happened that I realized how ridiculously mean that combo is. Then the other guy left on the table cloned my master of cruelties and played a serendipitously timed Rogue's Passage to take ME out. WHAT a pisser. The next game I pulled the master of cruelties again turn 5 just as I was dropping kaalia with some Swiftfoot Boots but decided not to go that route again.

The Lesson- Know your table. If it's not a super competitive table then this is probably not the deck to play. While fun for me, apparently other people don't like it when a flight of dragons gets dropped and you put a Celestial Mantle on your Hellkite Tyrant.

Came 2nd at a local standard tournament, pulling 3-1. Tweaking main and sideboards to match my experience. Replaced Righteous Charge with Ajani, Caller of the Pride to make the deck more of a late game threat and less of a "I hope this Righteous Charge kills you " deck. Boros Reckoner came in nearly every game last week so it's straining to make it to the mainboard, I'll test one more time with him in the sideboard and make a decision later.

Changed some cards around to experiment.

-Karn Liberated for Unwinding Clock, as I feel like the clock is more directly useful immediately

-2x Plains for 2x Darksteel Citadel to further the artifacts for Darksteel Juggernaut

-2 Thopter Assembly for Phyrexian Juggernaut and Darksteel Juggernaut This one is more of a test to see whether these new juggernauts will of more use than the thopters. I had the darksteel one in there a long time ago, but in this deck's infancy, there weren't as many artifacts as I needed and the "attacks every turn" was a bit of a bother. We'll see how things work now.

-2x Perilous Myr for 2x Chimeric Mass Another test, as I decided that I should finally take out the Perilous Myr for something a bit more useful. Also, the Chimeric Mass gives me a great lategame mana dump for a huge return, so we'll see how it plays out.

-1x Memnite for 1x Everflowing Chalice I have zero cost creatures to drop my average cmc, but I realize that another mana combo source would be better used instead of a only slightly useful 1/1. Since this deck is about mana-ramping, it's okay for me not to have creatures out from the get-go.

I added a WIP sideboard, obviously it isnt done, still trying to figure out what other cards to add. Annihilating Fire will help if my opponent uses their graveyard alot. Electrickery to deal with decks running lots of low toughness creatures. And Glaring Spotlight to help against any Hexproof decks.

-2 Varolz, the Scar-Striped
+2 Blood Baron of Vizkopa

At this point I'm kind of tempted to put Varolz, the Scar-Striped somewhere in the sideboard but I don't know what to take out to make space for him. In play testing, Blood Baron of Vizkopa is so strong if it hits the board, but adding two more 5 drops and taking out 2 3 drops makes me hesitant to stick to it. My landbase seems to be giving me troubles now. Thoughts on how to change it? I just seem to be screwed if I don't land a green supply in my opening hand. Maybe take out two Godless Shrine and add two Temple Garden

After a good long time of playtesting, this the way the deck now stands. Some thoughts: Sheoldred continues to be an utter champ in this deck. As has Fauna Shaman, Sun Titan, Rune Scarred demon and Birthing Pod. Storm Herd, Yavimaya elder and Krosan Tusker haven't really been very helpful. Short term goals are to get rid of the Proxy Sun Titan, Birthing Pod, Necrotic Sliver,and Sad Robot and acquire actual copies of them. Also get a Eternal Witness.
