I like the deck so +1 from me.
I have some interesting thoughts for this too. Obviously I would like to see Skirsdag High Priest because you have sac outlets and cheap creatures you can tap after activating morbid and recasting creatures in.
Second of all, I think there is some unique ways to reset your geralf outside of your Thrull Parasite
. Specifically Restoration Angel
and Fiend Hunter
. To accentuate this, you could have blood artist on the field, swing with Geralf's Messenger
have it go to the graveyard, comes back in tapped opponent takes 3 you gain 1 from geralf trigger + blood artist, cast fiend hunter to exile it and then use Cartel Aristocrat
or Bloodthrone Vampire
to sac the fiend hunter bringing geralf back triggering both geralf and blood artist again.
Additionally I was thinking about how messed up it would be to have a Desecration Demon out and your opponent declares attack step, you put the trigger on the desecration demon for combat step opponent sac's a creature triggering blood artist, then swings in, Restoration Angel flashed in bouncing the demon allowing him to block unexpectedly in addition to the angel, probably killing 2 more of their creatures. That Demon + angel combo could do some work. Also makes me wonder if you could respond to opponent sacrificing a creature to flash in and reset the trigger, but I doubt it would gain priority because its no longer the beginning of combat.
I have played with it and love it my only problem is how cluttered my 3 drop cmc is. It is kind of the sweet spot in my deck but rancor allows me to cast a creature as well as a trample effect in the turn 3 or 4 scenario depending on how i ramp. Rancor allows versatility where unflinching courage could leave me hopelessly tapped out if they respond by killing my creature.
I have been trying to figure out how to include that in my deck without disrupting it too much. Any thoughts?
Lol thanks, and i used to rock her but my 5 drops are already convoluted so i chose the silver heart over her because he makes everything else beast even if I'm in top deck mode and hit a pilgrim
Fair enough. I guess i just got tired of playing the hunt because he always was removed instantly when i played with it. Being really weak to pillar and spears is a turn off for me even with its utility. I see spot removal getting very popular with Voice of Resurgence running around
I love RUG flash.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but flashing Huntmaster of the Fells Flip on your opponents turn if Yeva, Nature's Herald is on the field, would not allow him to flip on your turn, considering the huntmaster himself was the spell cast last turn. Wouldn't it be more advantageous to play something like Savageborn Hydra or Primordial Hydra so during your upkeep you can double the counters you put on primordial? That gets out of hand way quicker and my personal favorite combo with yeva.
I was reading your post about taking decks to states because I'm doing the same this weekend with my token deck -- Controlkens
Goodluck to you!
Just removed 4 reckoners, didn't like it in the deck.
Boros Charm doesn't activate morbid.
Frontline Medic is amazing but my tokens already have evasion and devalues Blood Artist
Appreciate the suggestions though!
I really like your build and idea around the Bronzebeak Moa , makes me want to look at other applications of him!
+1 from me
Would allow your undead alchemists combat damage to a player to mill. Out you could do Artful Dodge
I thought about it but i liked the helix's more for the simple fact they can kill creatures and gain me life
Said on Selesnya Aggro...
Just fyi, you can't sacrifice Judge's Familiar to counter Supreme Verdict , supreme is uncounterable. You can however keep mana open for your Rootborn Defenses because indestructible trumps verdict.
I would suggest cleaning up a few things here, if you're going to include Intangible Virtue then it should be more token focused, because it has 0 effect on all 18 of your 18 creatures, at least until your Doomed Traveler or Voice of Resurgence trades. If you're banking on the trade, then I would be more centric on putting pressure on to force your opponent to trade, while also threatening the Selesnya Charm mana to make the trade unfavorable for them. Or on the backfoot if you're defending, you can use your mana to cast virtue, and chump block to create your token army. Additionally I would think 4x Intangible Virtue or 0 would be the best numbers, running 2 in a deck not centered around tokens means you might hit it when you don't need it and might not when you do need it. Having extra's if your deck is token heavy isn't a bad thing, just means they're stronger.
I was intrigued by the thought of putting on pressure to force your opponent to block your creatures making your army stronger so I copied your deck and made some edits to it if you want to check it out:
