This deck is basically a combo deck with two primary creatures you want to have on the battle field together. The Gitrog Monster, and Underrealm Lich these two combo off with each other due to Gitrog forcing you to ""draw a card whenever one or more lands are put into your graveyard from anywhere."" This draw effect gets replaced with the Lich's ability that "If you would draw a card, instead look at the top three cards of your library, then put one into your hand and the rest into your graveyard.". This makes a looping effect comboed together with instances of putting a land into your graveyard, with the mill effect from Lich. You can stop the combo by putting a nonland card into the yard. This combo can be used to load your hand with good removal and interaction, such as Counterspell, Flusterstorm and of course the blow out Cyclonic Rift for control. Fulminator Mage, Dismember, and Collective Brutality for removal and utility. More utility Endurance to stop your own self mill or interact with opponent. Crucible of Worlds Life from the Loam get lands back easily to feed the Gitrog monster. Chthonian Nightmare, Victimize and Unearth are great reanimate effects for your combo and 3 drop creature slot that is very useful utility wise.

Laboratory Maniac is an alternate win con to just traditional control and beatdown midrange kind of deck. lab mac combo is fairly easily to accomplish if you can protect gitrog and lich. Use a draw effect to chose Labmac win trigger instead of Lichs combo. Many ruling interactions can occur with this deck and its unique ways to accomplish its goals and interact with opponents deck. The side board is also evolving. A lot of opponents yard hate, more control elements or reanimate/ hand play.

OLD alternate Deck tips.

Sidisi's are both in the deck and help search for helpful cards and provide a wider swing. Can be fairly heavy on graveyard play. Creekwood Liege's are nice 4 drops and can really make your multicolored creatures very strong. Ob nix planswalker for fun. Can rely on using Muldrotha and Eternal Witness for graveyard recycling. Or switch out with Wither, Necroskitter and Midnight Banshee combo well together, for non-black creature decks. Black mana cost is heavy usually for the deck to play well. Usually want 3 lands in hand for smoother games. More Casual Deck , needs a replacement for dark ritual not sure what to add instead for Modern Legal, Suggestions are welcome.
