Legendary Creature — Zombie Hydra
Polukranos enters the battlefield with six +1/+1 counters on it. It escapes with twelve +1/+1 counters on it instead.
If damage would be dealt to Polukranos while it has a +1/+1 counter on it, prevent that damage and remove that many +1/+1 counters on it.
: Polukranos fights another target creature.
Escape—, Exile six other cards from your graveyard. (You may cast this card from your graveyard for its escape cost.)

Polukranos, Unchained Discussion
Yeah I wanted to build a shell that could work even without drawing Offspring's Revenge , and could consistently hit even if it's just one of the main shell creatures. I'm torn between filling the deck with toolbox etb effects like with Demon's Disciple and Burning-Rune Demon or beefy hits like Oathsworn Knight and Polukranos, Unchained . I think it's gonna need a bunch of playtesting with a lot of different builds before it feels right.

Sounds like fun TonyRik, we have a lot of zombies to play around with this cycle! Thanks for suggesting Polukranos, Unchained, I’ve considered running 1 or 2, but I’m not sure if the mana base can support it. I’ll keep fiddling with it.
meME12, hope your games on Arena go well, your deck looks interesting!

It looks like your main goal is to stick a creature and then buff it as much as possible with +1/+1 counters. To improve the strength and consistency of the deck, I recommend cutting anything that isn't working towards that end (unless it's very efficient.) I'd identify those cards as Druid's Deliverance, Sundering Growth, Bountiful Harvest, Bump in the Night, Lair Delve, Blood Reckoning, Tablet of the Guilds, Primal Clay, Trestle Troll, and maybe Phylactery Lich (depending on how many artifacts you end up running in the end.) I'd also suggest swapping out Intimidation to stay modern legal, possibly with something like Bellowing Tanglewurm if you really really want the evasion. Your strongest cards that I'd want additional copies of are Abrupt Decay (budget permitting), Ring of Xathrid, Undying Evil, Slitherhead, and Death's Presence (assuming your meta is slow enough to run it.) It also looks like Tormented Soul is a critical piece that benefits the most from growing big, so having redundancy for it seems like a good idea. Changeling Outcast, Gingerbrute, and Silhana Ledgewalker could all be fine targets. For +1/+1 synergy, you have scavenge staples like Varolz, the Scar-Striped, Corpsejack Menace, and Lotleth Troll along with more general options like Polukranos, Unchained, Winding Constrictor, Hardened Scales, Hydra's Growth, Rishkar, Peema Renegade, Scavenging Ooze (which is particularly good in a sideboard), Drana, Liberator of Malakir, Hunger of the Howlpack, Forced Adaptation, and Llanowar Reborn. Finally, some cards I've had success with in graveyard-focused decks include Tragic Slip, Satyr Wayfinder, Grisly Salvage, Splinterfright, and Fauna Shaman. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck with your build!

I am a new player to MTG Arena and MTG in general, I have found some success with the standard deck Stomp Stomp.
I had a few legendries I thought I could add to improve the deck further and add some more fun cards to play.

The cards I removed were...
The cards I added were....
I have had some success with Garruk as he adds creatures / adds power to creatures which suits a deck already designed to add power to creatures. Also had success with Polkuranos linking up with Terror of the Peaks.
Questions - Do these cards suit the deck in the long term? and could there be any drawbacks?
Appreciate this could be subjective but just want to make sure I have not completely destroyed the deck power/harmony.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Hey, Ursaromg! I can definitely do that :D. What I've begun to notice in the deck, is it can be helpful to have a baddie on the board every now and again, because sometimes the combo does end up getting broken up too much by control, especially in game 1. Steel Leaf Champion is super annoying to deal with, and is well worth it's mana cost for how much of a threat it is the moment it lands. Gives me enough of a reprieve to get to the combo, or can just win on it's own sometimes.
Same with Polukranos, Unchained. Sometimes, by the time I get a Glittering Wish, I have nothing going on the board. Being able to reach for a big bad with a Wish has become a move I realize I need, and Treasured Find wasn't really the power bomb that I thought it was. I changed that slot from passive to aggressive, and it has been awesome. Polukranos, Unchained can exist as a giant body on the board not once but twice. But also, if I've gotten behind in creature power, it can sweep the whole board, not one but twice.
Skyclave Apparition is the card I've always been looking for in this deck. I have tried so many less versions of what this can can do, with things like Leonin Relic-Warder, Kitesail Freebooter, Tidehollow Sculler, and Fairgrounds Warden. None of them end up being that particularly effective, because the opponent gets their card right back most of the time. Skyclave Apparition doesn't give them their stuff back ever, and is more like Spell Queller or Thought-Knot Seer, which are amazing. Skyclave is so good it is being used across all formats. It can get rid of any threat on the board, from creature, to artifact, to planeswalker, or enchantment. That token isn't much to worry about either with the amount of creatures I play throughout the game. Plus, it's only 4/4 at the most.
Fiend Artisan is an all-star. Just like Ggoyf, I wait until I have 3 creatures in the graveyard until I first play him, so he can survive the initial Bolt. Its ability reigns supreme as Birthing Pod on a stick, which is incredibly useful after it survives its summoning sickness. Plus, the passive ability triggers Rhonas the Indomitable, it can be tapped for Chord of Calling, it's never not useful.
I've always had an eye on Voice of Resurgence, since it was first printed. But it seems better as a set of 4, and I don't have room for that at this point. Plus, just a little bit underpowered compared to cards like Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Vexing Shusher, and Grand Abolisher, which tingle my giblets just a bit more.
Thanks for asking! I really appreciate you and others having kept up with and encouraged me over all this years, it's definitely what helps keep this deck firmly my favorite deck in all of Magic.

Hello ! I have following this deck for a while and seen many different versions of it but I don't understand some of the more recent changes. Can you explain the inclusions of Steel Leaf Champion, Skyclave Apparition and Polukranos, Unchained ?

In a deck posted on tapped out, the deck notes speak of escaping Polukranos, Unchained then mutating Brokkos, Apex of Forever over it to create an 18/18 creature. The wording of mutate on the cards says that the top card gains abilities of the bottom card. If abilities include power and toughness, this changes a whole lot about how magic is played.

I don't love:
Acidic Slime Even with the low power high-ish cmc synergy, I don't think this gets there.
Polukranos, Unchained this seems like it just doesn't do enough, even with the free reanimate.
Satyr Wayfinder Makes you hit your land drops & fills your yard.
Migratory Greathorn All the cheapish mutate seem great as an additional way to trigger your general.
Syr Konrad, the Grim I like this guy. He does a ton of damage.
Sawtusk Demolisher Similar to Greathorn.
Eladamri's Call I love this in most w/g creature-centric decks.
Heroic Intervention Also much cheaper now. Nice to have up after getting a mutate.
Austere Command Really just need a few wraths. This could be subbed for any number of options.
Animate Dead Some cheap reanimate spells seem good.
