That is why we play Commander, right?

Well, let us build that dream deck with a bit of a twist. Let us be God. This will have a Classic Christian theme to it with Floods, Angels, Monks... Oh My!

Deck Politics

I have three types of Political Agendas:

Manipulation Show

Manipulation

This type of politics is where one actively oppresses the players in the game. Take Seal of Cleansing for example. This card oppresses the players in the game directly, because they always have to be wary when playing enchantments or artifacts causing to them to save some of their better artifacts for later. See the players are manipulated :)

Decision Show

Decision

This type of politics is where the effect is generally passive and requires all of the table to decide one decision. Take Coercive Portal for example. While this card seems to directly manipulate the table, it is more of a decision as it doesn't force the person to do something in the way Seal of Cleansing does. They are distinctly different due to the person having a choice to remove between two things. That is what decision cards are, they are cards that keep the table engaged with each other on a decision.

These cards are used in order to make people conversate with each other, and possibly argue about a decision. What creature should we exile with Council's Judgment ? All of sudden it is just not me exiling the creature, but everyone is. The table starts to choose sides as they decide what creature is worthy for exile. The tensions rise... a perfect environment for the Politic God.

Team Building Show

My favorite part of politics... acquiring allies, forming teams, and the best situation... making someone depend on you. Is one of the players having trouble with mana and is dragging behind? Looks like you can help by giving him a creature with Hunted Lammasu ... well for a price. That kill spell he has been holding in his hand may be very useful for you now. All of sudden a player falling behind becomes a potential person to take in and use his/her resources as well.

Team building can then equate to miracolous plays such as that team member allowing you to swing in with Worldslayer . This is when politics gets interesting. All of a sudden people will start owing you for the help they are giving which can make for very interesting games.

Well, I am going to be honest with you, there is no wincon yet. I need help with that :) So if you have any suggestions, let me know. Sometimes I like having decks without wincons and seeing how far I can get just by the politics. But, I do not want this deck to be the deck that just wants to place second. You know those decks, the ones that have no real objective and always end up placing second... that is not a worthy place for Political God such as ourselves!

Also, I do not want the WinCon to be just an infinite combo. An infinite combo in a political deck is a very bad idea because once people see you take out the deck, they will not trust a word you say.

Acts of God Show

Acts of God

Well unfortunately Acts of God have been changed a bit than what it was originally. Acts of God at first were cards like Traumatize that would completely punish an opponent. I like the idea, because as Political Gods such as ourselves we need some NUCLEAR BOMBS to control those pesky rebellious opponents.

So, please suggest some cards that devestate people in EDH, so we can punish those who do not submit to our agendas. We will make them remember for next game who to side with when deciding what cards we will be exiling with Council's Judgment .
