Oracle en-Vec

Creature — Human Wizard

: Target opponent chooses any number of creatures he or she controls. During that player's next turn, the chosen creatures attack if able, and other creatures can't attack. At the end of that turn, destroy each of the chosen creatures that didn't attack. Play this ability only during your turn.

Andromedus on Activate Oracle en-Vec before Peacekeeper …

Assume at the end of my opponent's turn I have Oracle en-Vec and Peacekeeper on the field.

The turn passes to me and the untap step ends. At this point I would like to use the Oracle's active (in order to force my opponent to declare attackers for their next turn) before I make a decision on whether to pay the Peacekeeper's upkeep cost.

Is this possible? Do I have to make the decision to do something with the Peacekeeper first (i.e. pay or not pay the upkeep), and then use the Oracle's active in response to my own decision? And if so can I then change my decision regarding whether I pay the Peacekeeper's upkeep cost after my opponent declares attackers?

Thanks for the help.

Rhadamanthus on Oracle en-vec interaction with goaded …

Side note: Oracle en-Vec's official text has been clarified to say (in part) "...the chosen creatures attack if able, and other creatures can't attack..."

If any goaded creatures are chosen then they must attack if able, not only because of the Oracle's effect but because of goad. The Oracle's effect doesn't change anything about the additional conditions from goad about who/what they can be declared as attacking.

If any goaded creatures aren't chosen then they can't attack due to the Oracle's effect.

I mean if you read the card you'll understand what I'm asking. Essentially, what I want to know is what happens if I target a player with Oracle en-Vec and their creatures are goaded. Please cite rules if possible. Thank you.

You won't be able to use your white spells on Archon of Absolution

Oracle en-Vec is a card that I misunderstood for a while. Make sure you really want this in the deck.

Pursuit of Knowledge you definitely don't need. This card is only good in mono-white Eight and a Half Tails because they can protect it. You don't really need it with Feather.

Risk Factor - People will always take the damage

There are cards that care about instant and sorceries in your graveyard. Feather prevents them from going to the graveyard so they don't have a lot of use. See - Surge to Victory

Weird cards: Big Score, Deafening Clarion, Sevinne's Reclamation, Caged Sun

I have a lot more to say but it'll be easier to explain in person

NTakamura on Cards that encourage other players …

shadow63 I do have some force combat, maybe not enough. I have Bullwhip Maddening Imp Nettling Imp Norritt Oracle en-Vec Walking Desecration in the deck to force combat so far. And a decent Amount of tutors to find them. I just want to see if I can do it without red, challenge myself.

NTakamura on Cards that make opponent creature …

I am trying to make a janky build that uses Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts ability to destroy creatures. I have some curses and cards like Oracle en-Vec Fight or Flightand Nettling Imp that kind of do it. Most likely by provoking them. But the card I feel best describes what I want is Alluring Siren but I would need it to be in black and white. Anything that is similar card you can possibly think of will be helpful.

Not only do Hexproof and Shroud have no interaction with non-targeting effects like Humility , Day of Judgment , Wrath of God , etc. But the effect of Oracle en-Vec seems to be misinterpreted in this description as well.

If you have Humility and Lightmine Field out together, all creatures are 1/1s with no abilities, and will take 1+ damage for attacking, destroying them immediately more often than not. If at that point you also have Oracle en-Vec and Orim's Prayer out, and you tap Oracle, targeting your opponent, that opponent has to choose any number of their creatures that will then have to attack or else be destroyed, while those they didn't choose can't attack. Since attacking is fruitless, they'll choose none of their creatures, so none of their creatures can attack, and none of their creatures will be destroyed.

If your opponent knows you have an indestructible megablocker, they'll be unlikely to willingly swing into it. To force their hand, I'd like something like Trove of Temptation or Bident of Thassa , with some white alternatives being Gideon Jura and Oracle en-Vec . Hundred-Handed One is another creature with a similar effect to the guards while Godsend is another way to truly punish attacking.
