I’ve heard people refer to modern commanders as being “everything bagels” in their mechanics. Joe old is a perfect example. It’s almost like they’re just combining mainstay pieces (like Blood Artist and Ashnod's Altar) and melding them into a new legendary.

K4nkato on Amalia and Her Loyal Lurrus

I wanted to play a more combo-centric build of this deck at the same power bracket. I was curious if you know of any creature piles that basically win the game when flipped from the GY onto the table.

Something I had in mind was Ashnod's Altar, Myr Retriever & another creature card to complete the combo, since Myr Retriever could grab altar out of the GY anyways. I know this list would have to drop Lurrus of the Dream-Den, but that’s fine with me. Unfortunately you’re not allowed to run two Myr Retrievers in commander so I’m a bit stumped. Any ideas?

Hello! Saw the thread and wanted to jump in

Can add a few more one drops to get Slimefoot out turn 2. Elves of Deep Shadow, Delighted Halfling, Deathrite Shaman, Elvish Mystic, Fyndhorn Elves, etc

If money isn't an issue, Doubling Season to get redundancy with the slimefoot + Parallel Lives + Ashnod's Altar combo. Demonic Tutor to help find it

What are some other wincons?
- Craterhoof Behemoth
- Peregrin Took + Experimental Confectioner
- Chatterfang, Squirrel General + Pitiless Plunderer
- Chatterfang, Squirrel General + Warren Soultrader + Blood Artist
- Hazel's Brewmaster + Devoted Druid

There are a lot of other 3-4 card combos in these colors, but these will help get your gears going when building.

Have fun! Please take a minute and upvote a few of my decks!

One last cut suggestion - Phyrexian Altar. You've got both Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar, I'm not sure you need both, and in a deck like yours Ashnod's Altar might be the better pick.

Archon_Bel on A Threateningly Good Time

Radiolarian I was finally able to play the deck a few times today, though not as much as I would have liked to. Only had 4 games, two of which I won, and the other two which I got close to winning before being killed by the other most threatening player.

I'd say performance was fine overall. When the deck went off, it went off, and I'd usually be able to steal opponents' creatures and then sac them for Rakdos' effect. I found that I would often target myself for his ability to dig through my deck, mostly because I felt like I was struggling on hitting land drops for whatever reason (then naturally, there was one game where I was absolutely flooded lol).

The deck felt somewhat slow and clunky, especially in the early game. I might need to rethink my mana rocks/ramp. The deck performed best when I'd have value death creatures out like Cathodion and Atsushi, the Blazing Sky. Otherwise stealing opponents' creatures was useful in messing up their boardstate, but wouldn't leave me with much mana to cast other exiled spells unless I happened to have Ashnod's Altar out or had made a crap ton of treasure tokens with The Reaver Cleaver. I think the deck's biggest weakness is that, unfortunately, there are virtually no (cheap) instant-speed steal effects in Rakdos.

I feel like more consistency and value generation is needed.

I might have to rethink the deck's strategy and focus more on sacrificing my own things for value, but that kind of sucks since the whole point of this deck was to be a theft deck. I'd rather refine that strategy instead, but I'm often drawn to building and playing "optimally". I guess we'll see what I end up doing, but for now I'll stick with the theft theme.

Would recommend Umbral Mantle; excellent on Krenko, but even better when also combined with Ashnod's Altar or Mana Echoes for an infinite combo. Something similar can be said about Staff of Domination. Adding Aggravated Assault would also work very well if you can sacrifice your gobbos for coloured mana. Grenzo, Havoc Raiser is an often overlooked card in Krenko decks, and for the life of me I don't understand why because he has absolutely spectacular potential as a disruptor of opponents' carefully laid out plans AND card-advantage (through theft). Lastly, I highly recommend you mainboard Idol of Oblivion because red has few enough good card-advantage resources as it is and it's too good combined with Krenko's ability not to include it.

Looks fun! Using a removal or counterspell and drawing a card off Marneus Calgar + Talrand, Sky Summoner sounds awesome

I need to add Nadir Kraken to my list. It goes infinite with Calgar and Ashnod's Altar/Phyrexian Altar

You should think about Anointed Procession since it also goes infinite with Calgar and Ashnod's Altar

Please take a minute to check out and upvote my version here! :)

mmultimedia Thank you for the feedback, i think your right about needing more early game plays. I would love to hear your advise for what things to cut. Im considering things like switching out Unbreathing Horde for Soulless One and adding cards like Warren Soultrader and Ashnod's Altar, I think i have a Grave Titan laying around but i'll have to check.
