Bubble Matrix Discussion

Alpha Status , Forge of Heroes

If you can't get off the ground as fast as you want you need to have a way to slow the game down or to block damage while you build up. You've seen me do this in half my decks. Bubble Matrix or Vigor means anybody can block. Spidersilk Armor . Silent Arbiter would be good, you build up guys and tap, who cares if you attack?

If you get a bajillion elves (I usually use Saprolings...) cast The Great Aurora. Everybody goes back to turn 2 or three but you end up with 8 or 9 lands from sheer numbers.

Bubble Matrix allows you to attack and block with impunity. Your superior numbers trump superior power.

@king-saproling I've been wanting to make a deck with Zur's Weirding for a while now, but I think I'd rather use it in something like Muldrotha where having your cards discarded has no real negative impact on your play. This deck functions on a few key components that I can't really get back once they're gone, so I'd prefer to avoid giving my play group in particular an easy avenue to shutting down my strategy. I do love the card though.

I opted for Honorable Passage over Justice just to keep it as a fun little surprise rather than a static effect that everyone's constantly thinking about and playing around. Justice might be more functional as a game slowing piece, but I enjoy the idea of slapping somebody with their own Aetherflux Reservoir out of nowhere.

Kormus Bell honestly just makes me want to make a Shirei deck.

I think I'll be replacing Wrath of Marit Lage with Drought. I had considered the card before but I had assumed that the black mana symbols in its rules text rendered it unable to be modified and thus only suited to shutting down black decks. After actually checking the updated oracle text, however, the rules literally say "black mana symbol" instead of just using the symbol, so I'm going to assume I can legally change that bit of text. On second thought though, it might be a bit of a headache arguing over and over about its legality, so I don't know. I'll definitely keep it in mind.

I do like Bubble Matrix as a way of preventing people from just swinging with their leeches in order to get rid of them. Plus it'll probably result in a lot less hate and arguing at the table.

Thanks for the recommendations. I do appreciate it a lot. :^)

Gravitational Shift and or Bubble Matrix

Brallin, Skyshark Rider  Flip if you go full discard, right now half your cards put your hand on the bottom of your deck.

Do you get much use out of Ashnod's Altar? I don't see a real mana sink for all that colorless mana except Folio of Fancies. If you want more big mana then Mana Echoes just dropped in price.

Pollenbright Wings is a fun card. Your big guys get to fly, you get a ton of blockers. Really funny if you get it on Rapacious One.

If you usually end up with more creatures than your opponents Bubble Matrix lets your little guys block their big guys while your superior numbers can attack without getting blocked.

Confusion in the Ranks is great if you are putting out multiple creatures and they only get one or two at a time.

Awesome idea! I might try to build something similar, but without the infect.

Bubble Matrix is probably the best way to keep your creatures safe while still dealing all their damage.

Constant Mists is a Commander staple and works even better in your deck.

Spike Weaver is perfect for your deck since you are dealing with +1/+1 counters anyways.

Dawnstrider is probably also worth it, but much more fragile.

Arachnogenesis is a classic Fog effect in Commander.

Moment's Peace is still one of the best fogs you can play.

Finally, a home for Leery Fogbeast! I'm not sure if it's good enough, since opponents likely won't block it at all.

In terms of cuts, I think most of your current fogs could be replaced with the ones I've suggested. They are often too expensive or don't give you any additional value or can only be used once.

If most of your creatures have infect already, why play Triumph of the Hordes over another Overrun effect? You could get much stronger effects such as Craterhoof Behemoth.
