Latessa, Master of Shifting Worlds

Now I usually post multiple commander ideas, but I just really liked this concept so I wanted to have her own thread. I've wanted to try some form of a commander or card that works with land creatures for a while now and settled on this. Besides Dryad Arbor stuff like Animate Land and Crusher Zendikon. She's also an elf to help with Elvish Branchbender.

My main issue with her is that I feel she might be overpowered in a way. I gave her so many abilities because I felt she was so restricted being she could only affect land creatures, rather than creatures or lands separately. But I also feel like her deck type will be very vulnerable to being taken down due to a simple Wrath of God becomes a one sided Armageddon as well. So I might buff her mana cost and let her give those lands indestructible too or just replace something with it. I do like the vigilance to attack and then allowed to tap for mana thing anyways.

When it comes to how her deck would work, I feel like she may be broken due to Awaken the Ancient coming in next turn if you're lucky and being a 8/8 haste and vigilance creature...so what do you guys think?

She's pretty awesome! The only thing that I would say you should change is her mana cost. Its pretty weird, so I would just make her have three colors and give her four toughness to compensate.

I originally wanted to have her be a lower costed commander due to her restrictive nature so I liked having a needed green, as it's the central color of Naya, and then alternative of Boros colors. But yeah I could probably just go WGR to make her balanced out.

Maybe three colors and give her a "tap: target land becomes a 1/1 elemental creature in addition to it's other types" kind of effect? It's fairly hard to build around her simply because there are not that many land animation cards.

I felt like I've made too many commander concepts where they had a passive then a tap ability, I wanted to try a simple "states this, does this" commander for once. Also aren't there a lot of commanders that don't directly help themselves out and the deck they have usually is what makes them who they are? Vorel of the Hull Clade and Kemba, Kha Regent and Mayael the Anima. I feel like there is a decent amount of land animation, too. Like I'll make a list of the ones I can find here for reference (In colors):

Ambush Commander,Animate Land,Anthousa, Setessan Hero,Awaken the Ancient,Awakener Druid,Crusher Zendikon,Earth Surge (Not animation but buffing),Genju of the Cedars,Genju of the Fields,Genju of the Spires,Guardian Zendikon,Hunting Wilds,Kamahl, Fist of Krosa,Koth of the Hammer,Liege of the Tangle,Life and Limb,Living Lands,Living Plane,Living Terrain,Mirari's Wake (Not animation but I forgot that it's a bit like Latessa herself),Natural Affinity,Natural Emergence (Probably one of the best ones for her),Nature's Revolt,Nissa, Worldwaker,Quirion Druid,Rude Awakening,Siege of Towers,Skarrg Guildmage,Soilshaper (Requires arcanes and spirits, but still counts),Spike Tiller,Thelonite Druid,Titania, Protector of Argoth (Not animation but very useful in theme),Vastwood Animist (Requires allies, but at least makes a 1/1),Vastwood Zendikon,Verdant Touch,Vivify,Elvish Branchbender,Equinox (Nice themed control),Jolrael, Empress of Beasts,Skyshroud Blessing (Good control more so),Trace of Abundance (Shroud and mana tapping again.),Timber Protector (More protection and sometimes buffing),Blinkmoth Nexus,Darksteel Garrison (More protection),Dread Statuary,Forbidding Watchtower,Ghitu Encampment,Inkmoth Nexus,Lifespark Spellbomb,Mishra's Factory,Mishra's Groundbreaker,Mutavault,Nantuko Monastery,Raging Ravine,Stirring Wildwood,Stalking Stones,Treetop Village

...thats....thats actually quite a lot of cards available, I'm surprised. Before searching this up I only really remembered maybe 10 cards, but man there is some viability for land creatures. I'm not entirely sure if those last few lands that become a land are labeled as "Land creatures" in rules, but I assume they are.

Oh yeah that one too. It seems like there is a lot of support for this kind of play style. It almost seems like it could be high tier if it got the right cards to it :c

Latessa V2

Now I think I decided on a good way to space out her abilities. Creature only buffs to land creatures and then enchanted lands get their own buffs. Thus you aim to try and make as many lands enchanted to prevent board wipes, or just give them generic indestructible from stuff like Terra Eternal. Also changed her to be a Masteress. Don't know if that's even the right term but it just feels more fitting.

Letassa Custom Card EDH

Made a deck to mess around with her a bit and I am learning why land animation isn't too viable. You need to outspeed your opponent in lands hardcore or else you will never want to block and you lose your land creatures so fast. I even modified Letassa a bit

Letassa v3

The deck style is just too slow an unsafe. Faster voltron decks utterly stomp the deck. I need to give her some form of mana ramp abilities or maybe give the lands hexproof for better protection. Not sure...
