Introduction

The Core Concept and what I built around is this idea of discarding your hand and getting mass benefits for doing so then bringing them all back with Shadow of the Grave.

Shadow of the Grave

Return to your hand all cards in your graveyard that you cycled or discarded this turn. This is what makes this deck run. This is what I wanted to build around. With strong near-infinite discard outlets Olivia's Dragoon and Forgotten Creation you can discard as many cards from hand as you want then paying for Faith of the Devoted's cost to deal damage and gain life it becomes a win con when you get those cards back to hand to do it again next turn.

Discard Outlets:

Olivia's Dragoon

Probably the easiest is the Dragoon. It's free, it's repeatable. Leaving more mana for casting other stuff like Madness spells for more damage.

Forgotten Creation

I bet a lot of players forgot about Shadows over Innistrad's Forgotten Creation. This Zombie Horror comes packaged with Skulk but the key reason for it's inclusion is in it's ability. At the beginning of your upkeep you may discard all the cards in your hand, if you do, draw that many cards. With a hand full of cards you're triggering multiple discard instances for other effects to play off of.

Murderer's Axe

Once it's in play it becomes another infinite discard outlet. Swap it from creature to creature and discard away!

Collective Brutality

You can choose 3 options, the best being -2/+2 effect and by choosing all three you'll discard three cards from hand triggering other effects for discarding. Then bring them all back with Shadow of the Grave if you have the mana. It's still good if you just cast it for and -2 life loss/+2 life gain discarding and casting via Madness an Alms of the Vein for more lifeloss/lifegain though.

Collective Brutality for Escalate = 3 + Shadow of the Grave is a nice way to spend 4 mana. Especially if you're able to discard/cast with Madness a couple of Alms of the Vein s in this process while having one or more Faith of the Devoted in play. Can you add up all the life lost? -7/+7 for 6 mana. Seems good to me.

Key to the City

Tap this Artifact, discard a single card, and make something unblockable. On next turn, untap pay 2 for an extra draw. Gets you more cards into hand each turn to discard.

Those who benefit from discarding:

Faith of the Devoted (2B) Enchantment - Whenever you cycle or discard a card, you may pay 1. If you do, each opponent loses 2 life and you gain 2 life.

Discard a card (casting it if applicably valid i.e., Madness) then pay the . They lose 2 life and you gain 2 life. If the discard card was Alms of the Vein that is a -5/+5 swing instead.

(Maybe run Defiant Bloodlord for double life lost to them?)

Archfiend of Ifnir

adds a bit of removal potential with all the -1/-1 counters being divided out.

Drake Haven is one way to fill out your board. Blockers... Attackers... it doesn't matter.

Hekma Sentinels can easily be pumped from a 2/3 to over 5+ power in a turn then Key to the City can make it unblockable.

Wharf Infiltrator

kinda does it all. Can be used to draw/discard and everytime you empty your hand with Forgotten Creation or a free Discard Outlet you can pay for every creature discarded to put the tokens into play.

Madness:

Madness is probably something I should include more of in this deck but most of the cheapened Madness spells either suck or were the wrong color ( Fiery Temper ). Still we might have a unbalanced blend of discard outlets anot not enough Madness cards to cast for cheaper.

Alms of the Vein

Other Important Cards Reasoning:

Refilling your hand with cards to discard is important in this deck. Outside of Forgotten Creation's ability there are some dedicated draw cards we use to achieve this.

Maybeboard:

Trial of Knowledge and running either Cartouche of Knowledge or Cartouche of Ambition to return it to hand and cast it over again as a draw 3/discard outlet.

Miasma Mummy ETB discard both you and opponent, except YOU actually want to. Could be paired with Relentless Dead for multiple uses.
