Fblthp, the Lost Discussion

9-lives on Card creation challenge

Seriously, theduck87?! Hngder? It's a massive card, but it's Fblthp, the Lost mixed with Gadwick, the Wizened and something else! I guess since it has the sort of Fblthp in it, it isn't too unbalanced. Also, what do you mean by 4UR? 4 , 1 ?

Aight. And I assume Green is why you're running Toothy over Fblthp, the Lost?

DrukenReaps: Creatureless Proteus Staff? How about Fblthp, the Lost?

I recently build an Agrus Kos, Wojek Veteran forced combat deck around global enchantments and double strike creatures. My current wincons are True Conviction and Warstorm Surge in combination with many anthems. Spear of Heliod is great for forced combat.

I like stories from the "Greatest Story Never Told" perspective. Instead of grand major player viewpoints I like stories with maybe a loose common thread & the story from some affable hitch-hiker or bystander character's viewpoint that is caught up in all the grand stuff to varying degrees :) I think Fblthp, the Lost should be the narrative perspective describing the chaos, wonder, or horror of it all without all the contrived bit-by-bit details. Also, the newer Darkhorse Comics Conan arch had one of the coolest ways to kick of a seemingly loosely correlated series of stories ever, Because "Know this oh Prince" when staring at an old bygone statue of an ancient barbarian king "Conan" is one of the greatest story kickers. MTG should do it right as some nondescript future character stares at an old Black Lotus in a cave somewhere & is speaking with a one-eyed alien creature from many eons ago :)

Stoneforge Mystic and a sword or 2? Might be cool. Also maybe Blade Splicer because getting a 3/3 from a blink seems better than a brainstorm or reanimating something when Reveillark dies. Maybe Fblthp, the Lost instead of Watcher for Tomorrow I understand wanting to use Watcher but Fblthp is a better blocker imo. Good luck with building!!

gebell on Bounce House Mill - Post Theros

I think you will be fine at 23 lands because of the amount of scry you have. I have been trying something like this on arena, but only with mill as a secondary win condition, so it's a bit different. Some thoughts:

You could replace a couple Elite Guardmage with Fblthp, the Lost. The card draw is what you really want, and that four drop spot can get crowded.

For me I couldn't survive without Deputy of Detention. It is powerful removal, and you can use it early and then you can bounce it to hit larger targets later in the game.

Forbidding Spirit is a great card to counter aggro. Stops them from building up, and you can bounce it keep them slow. I run 4 of them, but I would at least put a couple in the sideboard.

I know you took the Spark Double out, but it is a versatile card.

I would take out at least 1 maybe 2 of Thassa, Deep-Dwelling because of the legendary status. Even though it's really powerful.

I'd not that if you add another Lumbering Battlement and Spark Double you have a semi viable infinite combo.

If you get three battlements out (or spark double copies) they can cycle forever and suck in at least one card to bounce infinitely with them. So Charming Prince could be infinite life or Overwhelmed Apprentice would be infinite mill.

If you need cheap card draw you should probably go with Fblthp, the Lost as he's cheaper than the Elite Instructor. Frost Lynx can be pretty good control with Thassa. It looks like you're trying to win with milling. I would suggest Sphinx Mindbreaker Though it is a bit expensive, but if you can use Eidolon of Philosophy's ability, this shouldn't be a problem. Plus it is probably the fastest way you can mill someone by blinking since you can probably mill someone for 20 the turn it comes out with Thassa on the field. Also, I think Wall of Lost Thoughts is probably going to do a lot more work for you than Towering-Wave Mystic, which very little defense, has to hit, and even then only mills for two while the wall mills reliably for four and again with Thassa. Hope this helps.

Assuming Animar, Soul of Elements has four +1/+1 counters on him; Ancestral Statue is your first pick to make animar infinitely big

What to do with the other 2cmc? Could always go with Essence Warden for infinite life.

Cloud of Faeries or Dockside Extortionist for access to a little more mana

Phantasmal Image or Fblthp, the Lost for the lolz

If you have something like Earthcraft already on the field; instead go get Purphoros, God of the Forge and Shrieking Drake for infinite damage

Lastly Ezuri, Claw of Progress + Sage of Hours + (any four 0 cmc creatures): Memnite, Phyrexian Walker, Ornithopter, Kobolds of Kher Keep, Walking Ballista, etc for infinite turns

Good luck! Animar is my favorite!
