This originally began as some kind of attempt to gain a Maze's End win in an EDH deck. Whilst still a loose hope for this deck, once I landed on the Commander choice of Niv-Mizzet Reborn I got more than carried away of finally having a use for alot of dual colour cards I had in my collection. I will happily state this is a very casual deck and it's consistency is far away from the tribal builds I normally find comfortability with, but it was ALOT of fun to build around!

I am certainly well aware that there are many, many improvements that could be made to this deck. This deck really was just a way to churn through using a bunch of unused cards in my collection, so I have no intent to make changes or upgrade this deck now that it is built unless I pull cards that fit as an upgrade/interesting piece.

Deck named after song by simply amazing Melbourne-based Blackened Metalcore Band; Melancolia.

Updates Add

Well, this went surprisingly well. I got an early Expedition Mapfoil that allowed me to dig for Maze's Endfoil, with Atarka's Command and Gretchen Titchwillow assisting in getting some extra lands out of my hand early as well. Baldur's Gate was timed well and forced me to do extra colour math working out which colour to choose and which gates to leave untapped to cast creatures. Got out a Turn 6 Niv-Mizzet Reborn as well, but completely unnecessary as the engine was already running.
