This deck would be so easy to build if I was normal. Life gain, ramp into Evra, give her some evasion, build the deck as a voltron like god intended. But I didn't want to do that. I wanted to be a special little boy. See, while they're very different cards, to me Evra functionally reads very similarly to Hatred, ie "{4}, pay 36 life: This creature gets +36/+0 until end of turn". That made me think: Can I build a mono-white deck that plays like a mono-black deck?

What you're seeing now is Draft 1, built with cards I had laying around, but overall I think the ideas are where I want them to be:

Wincons Show

• Commander damage with Evra

• Axis of Mortality and other life swap cards. Soul Conduit and Reverse the Sands do similar jobs. I'm going for a Lich + Repay in Kind type of vibe. If I want to really make it feel like Lich, I've put a few "You don't lose for having 0 life" cards in there so I can give Evra 0 power before switching life totals, but that's a clunky wincon and I need to put more work into it (and I haven't put any power reducers in there yet).

• Aetherflux Reservoir. If I'm going for mono black vibes, "pay x life, target player loses x life" fits the bill

Card Draw Show

This section needs a lot of work, but the way I can adapt white's strengths to a black playing style is through white's ability to make lots of little tokens, then in some way sacrificing those tokens to draw cards.

Ramp Show

Nothing special here, I'm considering following the path that I started with card draw and using Ashnod's Altar in a non-combo way to ramp the deck by sacrificing creatures. Murder Investigation into a 60 power Evra and going nuts from there. Otherwise, the deck needs lots of ramp and I'm not going to fuss too much about trying to create a clunky mono-white Cabal Coffers or something.
