Mechanized Warfare
Enchantment
If a red or artifact source you control would deal damage to an opponent or a permanent an opponent controls, it deals that much damage plus 1 instead.

Readingrainbow32 Unfortunately, cards aren't written in basic English. They're written in Magic-ese, which has some key differences.
As you mentioned, you understand what the rules say. The rules state, as wallisface and Gidgetimer mention, that each replacement effect applies only to the original event, and only once. Magic-ese has very precise and technical vocabulary and grammar, guided exclusively by the rules of the game, not by basic English.
By your description, all additive or multiplicative replacement effects would be unusable with each other. Embermaw Hellion and Mechanized Warfare would infinitely add 1 damage to any original source, Alhammarret's Archive and Boon Reflection would infinitely double any life gain, and so on. The rules of M:tG, and by extension the grammar and vocabulary of Magic-ese, allow these card combinations to be used without breaking the game.

Pain Distributor - decent ramp, deals significant damage if your opponents use the treasures. Emergency blocker
Path of the Pyromancer - decent card selection
Urabrask's Forge - not an instant/sorcery but a strong repeatable source of damage
Vindictive Flamestoker - slow, but could draw you cards.
Solphim, Mayhem Dominus - mega power increase. 'Nuff said
Auntie Blyte, Bad Influence - could be good if you have a lot of symmetrical effects
Visions of Phyrexia - you can't utilize the Powerstone too well, but it's a free card each turn like Outpost Siege
Urabrask, Heretic Praetor - more impulse draw with a bit of a penalty to your opponent. Not as good of a blocker as the other Urabrasks with no first strike
Mishra's Command - modal, damage and card selection
Mechanized Warfare - not as good as all your other options for Torbran redundancy/damage enhancement
Brotherhood's End - modality is nice
The Red Terror - strong synergy with all the damage you're throwing around
Let the Galaxy Burn - an option for a board-wipe.
Khârn the Betrayer - chaotic, draws cards potentially
Jaya, Fiery Negotiator - strong synergy, has the misfortune of being a planeswalker. RIP

Nothing would happen. If X=0 for Volcanic Geyser then it wouldn't be dealing any damage and there would be no event for Mechanized Warfare's replacement effect to apply to.

Following up on another question here, if Volcanic Geyser is cast without paying its mana cost, how does that interact with additive damage like Mechanized Warfare? Is X actually zero, so Mechanized Warfare adds 1 damage, or is it a null value, so Mechanized Warfare doesn't add anything?
Beebles on 1 for 3 and Ghyrson for all!

Just a heads up that Mechanized Warfare and Solphim, Mayhem Dominus are nonbo's with your commander, as they are replacement effects. Ghyrson Starn only triggers when the damage dealt is exactly 1. When a source would deal 1 damage, those 2 cards make it so that they do 2 damage instead. So your commander won't trigger with them on the field.

Hey here is some thoughts I have on the deck. The comments are through the lens of trying to be very competitive.
With Birgi, the strongest win condition is storming out and clapping all of your opponent's cheeks in one fell swoop. The best way to achieve this is comboing out as opposed to going for a lot of chip damage. Chip damage by its very nature takes time and is hard to make work in a competitive meta (maybe in some form of stax it could work). Your deck list appears to have its foot in both doors which is fun and cool, but ultimately reduces the overall lethality of the deck.
The problem with mono-red as a top-tier EDH colour is that it is very limited in tutors, which makes it difficult to find your win conditions consistently. To overcome this, a player needs to put in a few win conditions and the ability to dig for them in the deck. You really are on the right track I think with all the cantrip and impulse draw spells. Dragon's Rage Channeler filters like a champ in this deck, and synergizes very well with Past in Flames and Underworld Breach
You have Grapeshot which is great, but if you were to also throw in an Aetherflux Reservoir and Manaform Hellkite you would be set up. Grinning Ignus with Birgi, God of Storytelling Flip gives you infinite storm. Add a Ruby Medallion to turn this into infinite mana, and a Impact Tremors or Altar of the Brood for an additional win con. Also quite funny with Sunbird's Invocation. You can tutor for the Ingus pretty reliably with Imperial Recruiter and Flamekin Harbinger.
So I realize this is turning into a small essay so I'll try to keep it a little briefer.
If you take the path of trying to combo, some cuts I'd make because they either are clunky, work towards a different win con, or just don't generate a ton of value are: Insurrection Captain Lannery Storm Quakebringer Toralf, God of Fury Flip Blindblast Traitorous Blood Experimental Frenzy
If you are going to all-in commit to just combing off with ingus (which I think you should) also consider cutting: Sulfuric Vortex Stigma Lasher Solphim, Mayhem Dominus Torbran, Thane of Red Fell Mechanized Warfare
I can talk on and on and on about theory for this deck so just hit me up if you want more insight. You know what you're doing, so obviously ignore me if this "deck primer" doesn't suit you at all!

If you click on the folder icon in the top right, one of the green buttons is Create Deck. Copy and paste this list into the Mainboard and Maybeboard tabs, add a description, and hit Save.
Disclaimer: I don't play Ranked anything. Suggestions may be underpowered or janky. There are a few cards in Standard that trigger both Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines and All Will Be One with an etb trigger that puts counters on something. The big difficulty I see with going this way is that both of your key cards cost five mana, so you won't be seeing the full effect for several turns. Serra Redeemer with the key cards turns a Boros weenie deck into an all-out blast, but it's also five mana.
Other possible directions could be an artifact deck based around Dragonspark Reactor, or landfall and Felidar Retreat. Either way, Mechanized Warfare seems like a shoo-in. Elesh Norn is more of a value card, while AWBO is a finisher, so getting them to link up properly will take some work.

It is forever my shame that I have never played FFVI. I've played basically every one but that one for some reason.
I pulled a Cityscape Leveler from my Brother's War box. Definitely gonna add it to my Feldon deck. Debating Bitter Reunion and Mechanized Warfare as well. Thoughts on those?
