Some more changes. I've finally caved in, and I'll be buying some snapcasters. Added those and druidic satchel for more consistent draws, as well as using that often unused reserve counterspell mana for something useful. Removed scamps and stromkirk noble so as to not dilute the instant and sorceries necessary for Delver to flip, and to allow a more blue-heavy manabase (necessary for counterspells, turn 1 delver, etc).

Input is needed/wanted as I aim to make this a better deck in the long run.

An early Boomerang + Isochron Scepter can shut down the enemy while you... I don't know, figure something else out? Basically its a frustration / lock down deck that can be a ton of fun to play.

Been adding and subtracting cards, but now I am just looking to make cuts to make it a playable to start testing. I'm thinking about 30 zombies (min) but I want to have enough card draw and mana acceleration to not get left in the dust by stronger themed decks.
Updates after FNM
platinum_demon, 13 years ago
So, last Friday at FNM things didn't go so well... To be specific, I lost 0-2. Ouch. On the bright side, I see some weaknesses this deck has that I didn't really notice before.
First: If it comes down to a race between my deck and another one, I need some sort of clearer. I went up against a Tempered Steel deck, and I lost game 1 after I killed three of his four mox opal]s and he pulled out the fourth one, used it to pull out a Tempered Steel, and swung for game. Game 2, I held him off for a while, but then got overcome by Moorland Haunt giving him more spirits than I had kill spells.
Second: I need some sort of way to get past control. I went against a U/B Heartless Summoning deck. First round the guy somehow got out all four of his Dissipates and managed to keep his stuff alive long enough to kill me. Round two, he pulled three Dissipates against a Liquimetal Coating, a Glissa's Scorn directed at his Steel Hellkite, and an Ancient Grudge.
So anyway, I updated my sideboard to reflect what I might need it for. Again, I don't actually own my sideboard cards. If you wouldn't mind giving some feedback, I'd appreciate it, and I might end up actually getting my sideboard someday. Okay, here it is.
2x Ghost Quarter: This would get subbed in against decks running Moorland Haunt, Kessig Wolf Run etc. so I can get rid of them while conserving my kill spells for the other stuff (creatures, enchantments, yadda yadda).
2x Day of Judgment: This would be subbed in against swarm decks. It would give me some room to breathe so I could get control over the game again. Also, it can be recurred by Charmbreaker Devils if I'm lucky.
2x Sun Titan: Subbed in against decks running artifact removal, or just as another beater if necessary. Depending on how these work in playtesting, I might include them mainboard and go for a bit more of a creature-based strategy, running things like Manic Vandal and Sylvok Replica. Thoughts on that? Ideas? I'll make a version of this that runs like that and give a link so I can maybe get some help to refine it.
3x Autumn's Veil: These would be subbed in against control, to protect my valuable plays like Hoard-Smelter Dragon and Charmbreaker Devils from being Dissipated, Mana Leaked, etc.
3x Thrun, the Last Troll: Again, to be subbed in against control. This would give me a good way to win even without Liquimetal Coating up and running.
3x Blasphemous Act: These are for swarm decks, as well as things like Heartless Summoning, control decks with Grave Titan as a finisher, and so on. Honestly, if I used it to kill off even three or four big threats, it would be worth it. Like Day of Judgment, this could hypothetically be brought back by Charmbreaker Devils.
Do you guys have any comments or suggestions on where I should go from here, in either my mainboard or my sideboard? If you do, I'd really love to hear it! Thanks!

Sylvok Lifestaff can be great - gaining 6+ life against mono red is a great boost. It can be switched out though

Major Changes

Added Skirsdag High Priest and Disciple of Griselbrand. Both work well with Reassembling Skeleton. You don't have to tap disciple to sacrifice the skeleton so you can just bring him back and sack him again and again, making Oozes, or pumping up your Lumberknot. Added Brain Weevil and Smallpox to get some cards out of the opponent's hand, but I'm still iffy on Smallpox. I generally end with lots of land so losing it from Smallpox hasn't been too bad. Added Necropede to shoot out some more -1/-1 counters early game. Thoughts on Boneyard Wurm vs. Splinterfright? And should I add more removal instants?

Updated the deck to match it's physical form. It's a very different deck.
Added Devil's Play
IAmKingTony, 13 years ago
Decided to turn 1x Shock and 1x Island into 2x Devil's Play for a bigger burn spell that also has flashback!
Also took out the Frost Titan for another Charmbreaker Devils and took out the Adaptive Automatons for Signal Pests!

Swords

I have my deck set up with 2 Sword of War and Peace and 2 Sword of Feast and Famine, replacing a Geist-Honored Monk, Mentor of the Meek, Mana Leak, and Acidic Slime. I also have it with 2 of each Beast Within, Mana Leak, and Oblivion Ring mainboard. Really makes situations nice and I have 2 of each in the sideboard as well. If it works I'll update the main deck.
Fun Titan

Took out Bonds of Faith for a Sun Titan and 2 Gideon's Avenger's. Pretty chill.
FDMDorelMinxQ, 13 years ago
Eldrazi Spawn EVERYWHERE. I'm really comfy with a lot of creatures, regardless of field clearing spells.
UniTheDino, 13 years ago
Gideon's Avenger is out and Geist of Saint Traft is in! Also, Geist-Honored Monk is gone and Hero of Bladehold has taken its place. All the Timely Reinforcements have moved over to the sideboard. Some other various changes to the sideboard and main deck.

Scarecrow & Mrs King

Not a great win %, but one of the most fun decks to play in my stable of regulars. If it Shows up well, it feels insurmountable to the opponent. The idea is an early Metalworker or Transmuter to fast large artifacts, 4th round colossus or forge are rather nasty. It needs a better kill mechanic but a very fun one to play with.

More ramp. More thin. More tutor. Adding Chord of Calling, Genesis Wave, Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Tutor and more. One of the new goals of this deck is to get to the power spells quickly, and have a little graveyard pull to get some recursion going. I considered Wheel of Sun and Moon, but I'm not sure about it right now.
At a passe.

Kind of stuck at the moment. Don't know what to take out or add, really. It works pretty well but it's a bit inconsistent. The blue-hate is great so far.Jake_the_Card_Player, 13 years ago
Griffin Riders are the focus of this very offensive deck, Griffin Guides ensure Griffins stay on the battlefield, and let's just say the name speaks for itself.

quick 2 strike death with ur dragon, plus a lot of fun all around!
