Oh yeah I totally forgot they made Naya Ulasht, the Hate Seed! Seems like a bunch of Ulasht staples like Mana Echoes might go pretty nuts in this. Skullclamp and Basilisk Collar also seem obligatory. If you have mana sac outlets like Ashnod's Altar/Phyrexian Altar plus your Ivy Lane/Blade of the Bloodchief this is a simple way of infing out, Ashnod's Altar seems especially good here since you net mana and Marath can already target players, if you have a counter doubler or mana filter it's an instant kill. One thing Ulasht has on Marath though is the ability to employ the all powerful Utopia Mycon :) Also Kamahl, Fist of Krosa animate all their lands and snipe them with Marath/Goblin Sharpshooter is pretty funny

For the Archon's Glory combo, I'm going agree with your opponent and the bystander. As I understand, ramp shouldn't be included in the turn calculation. The intent is to prevent Tainted Pact + Thassa's Oracle, Helm of Obedience + Leyline of the Void , that sort of combo, where the cards can be played on a normal curve and lead directly to a kill effect before turn 6. There are ways to drag someone down from a trillion life, or just bypass life totals, so I don't consider that a lockout (but I might concede if someone did that, depending on the matchup).

But I would not consider Sol Ringfoil as part of the combo, because it's such a loose requirement. I'd compare it to something like Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar. Technically, you need a third effect and another Zombie for this to mean anything. But that's so easy to get to, it doesn't even really need a dedicated deck. Yes, you need a token, enchantment, or artifact to sacrifice, but that can happen incidentally during normal play. If a combo needs a third card, but that card can be any (insert category here) or a basic land, it shouldn't count toward the combo requirements.

Ultimately, my call is that this was a lucky play with a combo that's legal in Bracket 3.

Glad you Like this build clayperce, i Chose Tergrid to keep this deck fair for Bracket 3, swapping her out for a Tutor makes The Deck a Bit too strong. Besides she is fun in combination with Grave Pact, No Mercy, Blasphemous Edict, Soul Shatter, Accursed Marauder and The likes, giving you what others sac,… The Sideboard is meant to make The deck more consistent, search for Gravecrawler, Forsaken Miner, Warren Soultrader or Phyrexian Altar or a „everybody sacrifices a Creature“ Card to combo and win fast.

Thinking about this a little more, and wondering if there are any Angel-focused combos worth adding. Please take this as brainstorming though, not an actual suggestion, as I'm not sure if it would help or harm the deck! :-D

Unfortunately, the only "pure" Angel combo I know of is Giada, Font of Hope + Twilight Shepherd + an artifact-based sac' outlet (e.g., Phyrexian Altar or Blasting Station).

There are others, based around Karmic Guide, Restoration Angel, and Archangel of Thune, but I'm not sure any of those can be accomplished without pulling in other creature types :-/

I run a Primal Surge build.

Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre + any sac-outlet like Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar keeps you safe from someone that might force you to draw after Surge resolves prior to your combat phase or your cards resolve on the stack.

Phyrexian Arena and Greed are classic card draw, Insatiable Avarice is decent and I am a big fan of Increasing Ambition though it is a little slower. Peer into the Abyss also slower but basically ad naus #2...these effects are typically paired with a lot of fast mana like Chrome Mox Lotus Petal Mox Opal etc. which are cheap and explosive after casting Ad Nauseam <-- this card usually takes some build around. IDK if that's better here vs. Skullclamp which provides repeatable card draw for cheap. If you have a lot of life loss effects, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is a good hedge which fits your beatdown strat and hates on opposing card draw. Maybe also Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar to juice those rat tokens.

Buried Alive seems like it would be super effective here allowing you to play specific creatures at your end step with your Commander.

Viscera Seer is a great sac outlet.

I don’t feel like Smothering Abomination is that great because of the CMC and limited times it is usable. Phyrexian Altar would be more efficient.

Birthing Pod seems like it would be pretty good as a tutor.

Attrition is good too.

I think that should be good for now. I don’t really know what your budget looks like and I don’t know the total direction you are trying to really go. More than happy to go back and forth about it.
