Forgive me if I'm missing something, but it looks like you're trying to discount or free-cast Metalwork Colossus by having a bunch of Clues out. Clues, however, have no CMC (or 0 CMC), which means they will unfortunately not offer any discount to the Colossus. Sorry to be that guy, lol. =(
I like the idea of what you're doing here though, so maybe you could try Wind-Kin Raiders or Barricade Breaker or Bastion Inventor in its place?

popum: I had thought of using Thoughtcast, but I only want one set of draw spells and I like Reverse Engineer a bit better more (3 cards rather than 2). I also like Gearseeker Serpent in a budget deck, but Wind-Kin Raiders is a bit faster and a bit better fit for the artificer theme. The other finisher I've used is Bastion Inventor, which is especially good in the control matchup.

This is my Tezzeret deck that was made on a budget:Creature spells (13):
4 x Dhund Operative
2 x Bastion Inventor
3 x Wind-Kin Raiders
Artifacts (13):
2 x Sky Skiff
3 x Prophetic Prism
4 x Servo Schematic
2 x Treasure Keeper
Enchantment Auras (3):
3 x Tezzeret's Touch
Sorceries (5)
2 x Reverse Engineer
Planeswalkers (1):
Lands (24):
8 x Swamp
12 x Island
It's pretty lack luster and could do with some more powerful monsters but it seems okay for a budget deck

Thanks oMass_Assassin
I ran Inventor's Goggles and Wind-Kin Raiders before I added red into the deck. I may have to revisit the goggles because they're pretty nice with the free equip. Maybe swap out two of the maps. I have noticed that about half the time my maps don't actually get used for anything other than improvise anyway. I'll have to do some testing.

I have had a few fun times creating standard decks that utilize energy production to secure victory. Shielded Aether Thief would probably be a better replacement for Shipwreck Moray. It is 2 mana cheaper than the moray, and you gain energy anytime it blocks. The energy gain can be used to fuel this three artifact combo: Decoction Module, Fabrication Module, and Animation Module. The modules can feed each other as long as you have the mana and can pump your creatures to lethal levels. Land wise, some immediate additions would be Aether Hub, Simic Growth Chamber, and Sandsteppe Citadel. After that, look for as many dual lands in those colors as possible. I would replace Wind-Kin Raiders with Empyreal Voyager as the voyager is cheaper, has trample, and provides as much energy that it deals a combat damage. Token generators to consider adding are Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter and Master Trinketeer. Two decent token generators in blue for your deck would be Thopter Spy Network and Sharding Sphinx and they can help trigger each other's effects. You could also replace Multiform Wonder with Electrostatic Pummeler. Hope that helps!

Instead of Wind-Kin Raiders you could go for Barricade Breaker, which gives you more aggro and synergizes better with your other improvise spells. Same goes for Metallic Mimic, as it can boost your artificers (while equipping Inventor's Goggles to itselves) an can be used to pay for your improvise.
