What's your favorite card?

Sultai_Sir had a great thread about this a little while ago, I'm gonna see if I can find it so I can remember my answer ;p

Gabe_The_Controller I’m not sure if I should agree with you or call you a monster. :)

I'll have to go with the first mythic I ever pulled, which was Dark Depths

Stasis! Love the art, love the effect and the kind of decks you can build with it :)

Phyrexian Obliterator is my favorite card of all time!

There are so many great cards, and I mostly like those that I'm playing in my most current decks. Having to name some specific cards, I guess it's those two:
Sensei's Divining Top: A great engine with cool flavour. Gotta love this.
Guided Passage: I stumbled above it totally randomly while searching for interesting Temur cards. This cards really wants good deck construction, and it can be an insane value play.

I love the simplicity of it. My decks tend to want tokens and make life to spend.

Bloodbraid Elf. But I also hold a very special place in my heart for Siege Rhino. Rhino plus Sorin, Solemn Visitor won me the first prerelease I ever played, so Sorin is a pet card, too!

abby315 that's funny, I vividly remember my tarkir prerelease when I Act of Treasoned my opponent's Rhino, then cast a Clever Impersonator on it, so the copy was hasty and swung for lethal... good times

sergiodelrio That's probably a better way to die than how most of my prerelease opponents did: I was so new to the game that I couldn't do combat math at all, so I sat on a board full of 10/10 reach, flying, vigilance, lifelinking etc. etc. Outlast creatures until I was sure that I had at least 60 damage. It was pretty pathetic and I'm surprised more people didn't scoop.
I did get Kiora, the Crashing Wave ulted once as a result, but I still won...

seshiro_of_the_orochi, that Guided Passage would be an excellent target for Panoptic Mirror or Tamiyo, the Moon Sage! Would not take too many turns before you got primaried by the other players.

May favorite card of all time is Capsize. If you temporarily ignore Counterspell in all of it's forms, it is probably the most versatile and strongest targeted removal in blue. It can target any permanent and has buyback. This can lead to very oppressive gameplay if your goal is just to win and crush the soul of your opponents. Even if that is not your goal, it provides a lot of bang for the buck in a card slot.
It is a little late game but provides inevitability to the blue deck. Combined with counters or Nevermore effects you can completely shutdown most gameplans while spending only mana resources to maintain it.

I always forget about cards when I try to answer these questions, but I’ll try again ;p One of the first cards I ever played was Order of Leitbur so maybe I’ll pick that one. Paired maybe with Holy Strength or Holy Armor with the old art (like Melissa Benson’s). Back from the days of painted art and first-strike-dominance. Weird.

Vizier of Deferment. No one sees it coming, counters/auras/eqiupments/one-turn status-boosts all get dumped and eats a token too!
Also can be used on your own creatures, to get an attack trigger and then save the creature (works especially well with a Titan, as you get the attack trigger AND the ETB later)

Never played it, tho. Too powerful.

Megrim got me into the game, but my top cards right are the cheap removal suite: Abrupt Decay, Assassin's Trophy, and Maelstrom Pulse. Your annoying thing is gone, no questions asked or answered.

It's totally useless in edh which is all I play now. But I love the power and simplicity of Lightning Bolt

Thermo-Alchemist. Such a simple card. Looks so innocent as a 0/3 Defender. Until you can tap it five times in a single turn. A favourite in most of my freeform kitchen table brews. Love it in Pauper. Scales better with more players, but most of all:
So. Much. Damage <3

MindAblaze it's funny you mention those two cards because its sun titan getting killed in the art
