lol, at least you had it on standby. Was the only card that stuck out as missing. You might net some value from a Soul of New Phyrexia. Though thats meta dependent. My local meta has so much exile and -x/-x that its not worth the time of day in most of my lists.

One to consider for sure, _SeriosSkies_. You're right, although I don't have too much trouble with -X/-X, many players do lean toward exile and sacrifice effects these days. Tajuru Preserver has saved my butt a few times.

I don't currently have a Soul of New Phyrexia, but it'll be worth getting, just in case the need arises.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you considered a Green Black variant with some reanimation and send to graveyard cards to get your big boys out cheap?

No Jewishman, even though this deck has gone through some major changes, including a commander change, it has always been solid green.

Out of the eleven EDH decks I currently have, two or them are Black/Green, although one is a janky treefolk tribal, and the other is the omnipresent Meren of Clan Nel Toth, a deck I still have set to private on TappedOut. I just can't get enthused about the build for some reason.

I've never even considered changing this deck to include black.

Would recommend giving omnath flash so you can immediately recast him when he dies. The best ways I've found to do this are Yeva, Nature's Herald and Vedalken Orrery.

Thanks for the suggestions, AlfrescoHotshot.

I currently have Winding Canyons in the deck for that purpose and a couple of ways to tutor for it, but could probably use Yeva, Nature's Herald in here too, since I have multiple ways to tutor for her.

Yeah, you've talked me into it, and since I already have a Yeva taking up a slot in my binder, it's an easy add. Of course, adding is always easy, taking cards out, now that's another story...but that's what I'm going to do right here in a second.

Thanks again, good idea.

from my time of playing with omnath as a commander you want hexprof or something like that to stop counter spells like Archetype of Endurance or Dosan the Falling Leaf but thats just me p.s this deck looks fun i used to have a omnath it was fun but every one counterd him

Thanks for the suggestions, marekstar3.

Yeah, counter spells and removal are certainly a problem for Omnath. Everyone knows what he is capable of. I do have quite a bit of protection though with Whispersilk Cloak, Spearbreaker Behemoth, Vigor, Tajuru Preserver and Yavimaya Hollow. In addition, Akroma's Memorial and Sword of Feast and Famine give protection from two colors each, along with Hall of Gemstone which will certainly hamper the blue player's counter spell ability.

So yeah, now that I'm looking back through all of this, it's starting to look kinda pillow forty, more so than I even realized.

Bear Umbra untaps all your lands before combat damage

ramalama your welcome and now takeing a closer look your deck is pillow forty but you kinda need that in a omnath or every one will kill you even with pillow fort effects they will still try to ps have you thought about putting something like Rogue's Passage to make omnath unblockable

September 18, 2016 11:11 a.m.

RamaLama says... #11

Thanks again for the suggestion marekstar3, but Rogue's Passage is already in this deck, as well as other cards that give Omnath either unblockable, limited blockable by color, or trample.

welcome and sorry i didnt see passage and such there and as far as omnath decks go this is a very good one

Jellosea, I do like Bear Umbra and thanks for the suggestion. I have a copy of it in my Sapling of Colfenor deck, since the sapling is immune to damage and can attack every turn.

I've considered Bear Umbra for this deck, but have held off for two reasons. One is that as an enchantment it goes away when Omnath gets booted back to the Command Zone, as he certainly will if my opponents have their way, and the other is that I have to wait until Omnath can attack before it will do me any good. Still, a good case can be made to include it.

Thanks marekstar3, and no need to apologize. I certainly encourage suggestions, and have added a few cards to this deck through recommendations made via TappedOut members.

Thanks for the suggestions, JoltsOfEnergy.

Man, there's a fair lot of good cards there. The question is, can I find a place for them and do they fit the theme of the deck? I'm a real fan of Acidic Slime and would like to find a way to include that one, but haven't been able to yet.

The deck doesn't lean toward making tokens or counters. In fact, I recently had to take out Forgotten Ancient, a favorite of mine. Same thing with landfall cards, They're not really what this deck is about.

Darksteel Plate is probably a good idea, but so is Canopy Cover, which I just took out, Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots and/or Champion's Helm, but I'm down now to Whispersilk Cloak. It's just hard to decide which is better, mana dumps or pillow fort for Omnath. Bear Umbra may be a good addition after all, just to give more balance between the two.

I've been asked about Vernal Bloom before, and I had it in an early incarnation of this deck, but I don't like giving other green players extra mana, they usually manufacture enough without my help.

Anyway, I appreciate your input, and a couple of your suggestions may make their way into the deck. I really would like to make room for Acidic Slime.

Oh i just suddenly remembered, do you have a counter for Iona, Shield of Emeria?

September 28, 2016 6:47 p.m.

Emzed says... #17

There is no easy way to reliably beat Iona with a mono green deck, that's one of the archetypes she preys on the most. However, this deck has Brittle Effigy as well as Polukranos, World Eater, Ulvenwald Tracker and Silklash Spider as well as the possibility to just run right through her with an advanced board state. You can't do all that much more: Duplicant, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and Karn Liberated are some of the best answers if you need them.

September 28, 2016 7:15 p.m.

RamaLama says... #18

Yeah Athraithe, Iona, Shield of Emeria is the stuff of nightmares with this deck, but fortunately nobody in my playgroup plays this evil card, and I haven't run into it at the card shops yet, maybe just dumb luck.

Thanks Emzed, for going through the possible answers. Unfortunately, all of them except for Brittle Effigy require the card to be on the battlefield prior to Iona coming into play.

I can't build the deck around fear of one card though, so all the cards Emzed listed will have to suffice. One thing that I always worry about is cracking Brittle Effigy to get rid of a perceived threat only to be confronted by a worse threat (such as Iona) later.

Did you consider running Mul Daya Channelers in the deck? I've found it has great consistency in my Nylea deck, especially if you drop a Woodland Bellower.

September 30, 2016 8:27 a.m.

RamaLama says... #20

Thanks for the suggestions, Hesk1el.

No, I never really considered adding Mul Daya Channelers to the deck. I have considered Woodland Bellower though, but it never made the cut.

Great that these two cards synergize well for you in your deck. I would probably use the Bellower to search for Selvala, Heart of the Wilds if she wasn't already out.

September 30, 2016 1:05 p.m.

The Bellower only searched for non legendary creatures so that would not work.

September 30, 2016 5:31 p.m.

Emzed says... #22

Woodland Bellower and Fierce Empath are a great package, they enable eachother: Empath gets to find small creatures via Bellower, and Bellower gets access to fatties with Empath.

RamaLama says... #23

Duh, you're right of course, demonicgrizzly.

September 30, 2016 8:57 p.m. Edited.

Would be so much better, obviously, if it did search for any creature. It's still a decent card, though. Would be cool to Chord of Calling the Bellower to search up Eternal Witness and pull back the chord of calling so you can use it again. or pull back your Genesis wave.

October 1, 2016 8:52 a.m. Edited.

Also, mentioning Iona, shield of emeria: your u can use colorless removal live Scour from Existence to deal with her. That would be easily doable in this deck. Not sure how worth it the slot would be, though.
