I like the deck, Vnwxt is a fun menace at the table.
I highly recommended looking into Flow of Knowledge, Emrakul's Messenger, and Unctus, Grand Metatect.
Unctus is good redundancy for Enduring Curiosity for one less mana, and without needing to connect in combat.
Emrakul's Messenger will make you blockers you can sacrifice for mana to pay for interaction.
Flow of Knowledge draws you enough cards to be a finisher with Aether Syphon, or Psychosis Crawler.

I'm not sure how competitive you are looking to go with the deck but a few options to look at are:
Wylie Duke, Atiin Hero is probably one of the better creatures to help crew cards since it can replace itself with a new card right away by crewing and then generate more value over time.
Some of the creatures with the Inspired ability like Disciple of Deceit and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed can also net you value, but at a slower pace.
Grimoire Thief is kind of a weird and janky option. It's an unreliable counterspell effect but also gives you the option to slowly exile an opponent's library just by crewing.
Unctus, Grand Metatect is kind of a lord for vehicles and helps you dig through your library. It also synergizes well with the shark pirates from Aetherdrift.
Immersturm Predator can be instant-speed graveyard removal when there is a vehicle available for it to crew.
There are variety of other creatures with "Whenever this creature becomes tapped" effects that you can look up.

My default commander is muldratha and inturn I've collected tons of graveyard/etb/recursion effects to compliment. From Time Sieve with several enablers Pentavus Myr Battlesphere Thopter Assembly Encroaching Mycosynth & Unctus, Grand Metatect, Horseshoe Crab, Paradise Mantle, Viridian Longbow but I'd include combos like gitrog and Dakmor Salvage because they enable strong combos and can work in combination with other peices like Crystal Vein or Dryad Arbor . Slime foot was also one of my original homebrew ing commander's finding a handful of cheeky combos that allowed him to swing well above his projected power level as well being a utility peice for mid and drawn out games. Plus has become a wincon on its own on occasion. Beledros is listed mainly cause of his ability would just make him a automatic solid choice.

Maybe you can include Unctus, Grand Metatect so you can dig even deeper. Midnight Clock can also help both being a mana rock and letting you draw quite a lot of cards. I also saw you have Minn, Wily Illusionist, and I think it could be in the mainboard. It cheats a lot of things into play with the illusions, and with Shorikai, Genesis Engine you draw the cards needed to trigger the ability.
Mystic Remora is also a very good card that you can consider. Although you will eventually need to sacrifice it, the card advantage it gives you is insane. If you also go for the route of mass drawing, Ominous Seas can flood the board very quickly, but you may need to include some cards to have no max hand size.
Another planeswalker that fits VERY well is Teferi, Temporal Pilgrim, and the illusions it creates are amazing with all the card draw from Shorikai, Genesis Engine.
Btw, amazing deck, I still have to upload my Shorikai deck here, but it is much less flavorful, just centered around tapping and untapping Shorikai, so I love the much more dedicated vehicle theme, it is definitely a +1.

robngraves That combo doesn't quite work. Animated lands are still colorless unless specifically stated otherwise, and Mycosynth Lattice even makes sure they're colorless. So your lands die along with all the other lands, since Caged Sun won't pump them.
Chief of the Foundry, Master of Etherium (already in the deck), and Unctus, Grand Metatect would all work, though.

Urza upgrade
Hey, some nice upgrades to the precon so far. Good additions of wincon combos: Sword + Foundry + Altar and Urza, PoK + Altar + Battlesphere.
Consider cutting a few of the lesser unnecessary higher mana cost creatures for some more draw? Constructs have an easy time if they can attack at doing combat damage to an opponent thanks to menace from Urza. If you can draw a card each time a Construct does combat damage to an opponent then you're getting great value from Constructs and a good reason to want to attack. Bident of Thassa is in the precon and it's repeatable draw with Constructs. Research Thief is more repeatable draw with Constructs that's also a flying artifact creature. More repeatable draw from Constructs can help to draw combo pieces.
Skullclamp is in the precon and it's excellent with Sword + Foundry combo since it creates 1/1 Thopters that can then each be saced for 1 mana to draw two cards. Because Urza's artifact creature affinity can pay for his Commander tax then Skullclamp with Urza is another way for repeatable draw.
Grim Hireling doesn't draw with Constructs it makes ramp, treasures which can help with Revel in Riches since the only reliable source of treasures here is Tithe. Hireling's effect is like Thopter Spy Network where you can trigger it more than once if you have creatures do combat damage to more than one opponent.
When deciding to add a card, it can help deck building and the mana curve to cut a card that's more mana cost. Wire Surgeons is a lesser 6 drop here than the rest and it's effect is only artifact creature not artifact. Having to pay the mana cost of an artifact creature in your graveyard to then exile that artifact is not good. Sharuum the Hegemon another 6 drop here who reanimates an artifact which is much better than what Surgeons does. Marionette Master can be a wincon with combos: Sword + Foundry + Altar and Urza, PoK + Altar + Battlesphere, but this is adding a fourth card, 6 drop, to the combos which is a lot and is really not needed because these combos create infinite artifact tokens which gives Constructs infinite power/toughness.
If you want to combo with Sword + Foundry then you can't control any effect that increases p/t of artifact creatures. Thankfully, Foundry can sac any nontoken artifact, before you want to combo with Sword + Foundry sac the artifact anthem effect. This makes anthem effects that increase p/t that are artifacts better than anthem nonartifact cards. Urza, Prince of Kroog is the exception since it's part of another combo. Since playing Sword + Foundry consider cutting Tempered Steel?
You want to avoid artifact exile effects as much as possible because you have no way of getting back a card in exile. Playing some more Counterspells is a mana efficent way to counter opponent exile effects. Urza's Ruinous Blast hurts you too much since it exiles all Constructs and all combo pieces here except Urza, Prince of Kroog. All the 4 drops here have effects either when ETB or repeatable except Filigree Attendant doesn't, making it a much lesser card that could be cut?
Steel Seraph is a reasonable priced upgrade for Hexavus. Seraph can be cast with prototype for 3 mana giving you a 3/3 artifact creature flier to help artifact creature affinity for Urza and it can on your turn at combat give a creature you control flying including Urza. Wonder is another better option then Hexavus for flying, Unctus, Grand Metatect or Armix, Filigree Thrasher can discard it while in combat. Discard Wonder when you have to discard down to 7 card hand size because you drew so many cards.
Good luck with your deck.

Urza, Chief Artificer 2023 Upgraded Precon for LGS
2 years ago
Hey, well done so far on a budget casual upgrading the precon.
If attacking with Constructs is what you want to be doing then here's some budget upgrades to consider:
- Research Thief --> Darksteel Juggernaut
- Bident of Thassa --> Urza's Ruinous Blast
- Vault of the Archangel --> Warped Landscape
When you can draw cards from Constructs doing combat damage to opponents thanks to menace from Urza then you're getting much value from Constructs. Bident of Thassa is in the precon. Vault of the Archangel is tech from a land, menace with deathtouch is a nasty combination because opponents are not going to block Constructs and lose all their creatures. Just having Vault untapped with enough mana to activate it is enough to make your Constructs essentially unblockable. You can also gain a ton of life with Constructs.
Some other budget upgrades to consider:
- Counterspell or Disruption Protocol --> Malakir Rebirth
- Disruption Protocol or Negate--> Sejiri Shelter
- Ornithopter of Paradise --> Burnished Hart
- Padeem, Consul of Innovation --> Bronze Guardian
- Master Transmuter --> Jhoira's Familiar
- Unctus, Grand Metatect --> Chief of the Foundry
- Silas Renn, Seeker Adept --> Scrap Trawler
- Steel Seraph --> Hexavus
Good luck with your deck.
