Faerie Swarm

Creature — Faerie

Flying

Faerie Swarm's power and toughness are each equal to the number of blue permanents you control.

Some creatures to consider to give you a better early game:

Picklock Prankster - Can be played to dig for more cards at instant speed (faeries or instant spells), and is a cheap creature to play.

Hypnotic Sprite - Option to play as counter and play as creature makes it a useful card. Not high power, but playable.

Spellstutter Sprite - Probably one of the best faeries you can play as it is a cheap flash creature that serves as counter magic.

Faerie Miscreant - A decent one drop option. Only really useful to give you early board presence that helps with Spellstuter Sprite, but also chance to give you card draw if you can open with more then 1 copy.

If you can afford:

Brazen Borrower - One of the best aggressive creature options you have that also serves as early bounce. Understable that it is hard to obtain due to cost ($$$), but if you can use them I would definetly say this would be a must for this kind of deck.

Cards I would remove:

Wasp Lancer - To slow and over costed

Glen Elendra Liege - Not enough multi colored creatures to take proper advantage of its bonus.

Cards I would trim copies:

High Fae Trickster - Would only run up to 2 copies due to high mana value of card. Personally would not use.

Faerie Swarm - overcosted if you don't have creatures on board, if you have creatures you might already be winning due to flying aggro. Maybe 1 or 2 copies in deck.

Oona, Queen of the Fae - Very late game card in a deck that doesn't really have a way to build to late game, seems like bad fit for this deck. Would only use it as a one of fun of, but ultimately cut.

Lastly I would suggest maybe some cheaper bounce spells like Fading Hope so it is easier to do something like bounce a threat and counterspell it on its way back to the board. Fading hope adds extra bonus to get some scry action and even can be used on own creatures as a form of protection.

libraryjoy on Looking for a fun budget …

I build a lot of budget decks. My playgroup plays mostly 60-card casual multiplayer. I'm looking for ideas of interesting build-around cards, especially from sets in the last couple of years (I started 7-8 years ago, and have not paid as close attention to recent sets). Some cards I have used in the past are Angelic Accord, Sephara, Sky's Blade, Armament Master, Hoofprints of the Stag, Blackblade Reforged, Nova Chaser, Faerie Swarm, Enduring Scalelord, Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves, Swans of Bryn Argoll, and Rimefeather Owl among others (especially elf decks). Today I started to build Crested Sunmare, only to find out they're $7 each! I had a similar problem when I started building around Behemoth's Herald and Godsire and then realized how much the price had jumped. I'm looking for cards that average less than $1 and provide an interesting building space. I do not play black but am open to any other color or combination of colors. I lean most heavily to Selesnya generally but also enjoy exploring other spaces. Deck lists are welcome, but mainly looking for card suggestions.

Hey, your deck is missing it's Commander. If Alela is the Commander of this deck then you can make it official by tagging her with CMDR. In the deck editor put the CMDR tag after Alela, Artful Provocateur text.

1x Alela, Artful Provocateur *F* *CMDR*

What this does is it displays the card image of Alela in the deck list making her the official Commander of your deck.

Bident of Thassa is a good repeatable draw source with Faeries. Faeries have flying meaning that more times than not you will do combat damage to your opponents when you attack. For each Faerie who does combat damage to an opponent you draw a card. This can draw you a lot of cards. Consider cutting Festive Funeral for Bident?

Some upgrades within the budget to consider:

Good luck with your deck.

How do you think your deck will be winning? Commander damage? Fairy Tribal? Tokens? artifacts/enchantments matter? that changes what the best cards are. For example, if your deck cares about tokens, Favorable Winds is much better than All That Glitters . But if you're trying to win with commander damage from Alela, All That Glitters will deal much more damage. Either are probably better for the deck than Colossus of Akros , I personally don't think that's the most useful.

Some other cards I'd recommend looking at, just because they're cheap and work well with the deck, are Etchings of the Chosen , Etherium Sculptor , Starfield Mystic , Faerie Swarm , Hour of Reckoning , and Trading Post

You did say you were making a "budget" deck right? If so Bitterblossom, Sower of Temptation and Mistbind Clique need to go. You could replace them with Faerie Swarm, Glen Elendra Liege, Nectar Faerie or Violet Pall. I would also drop two swamps. 24 lands is a bit excessive for a low mana cost deck like this. Getting rid of those cards will drop the price by $80-90 depending on what you replace them with.

This makes me want a Faerie deck. Looks like it would be super fun to play.

Faerie Swarm looks like it could become a pretty big problem for your opponent!

I was wondering what you thought about Telepathy. It seems like that card might help you use your "tricks" at the right time.

Also, Faerie Swarm seems like a strong creature, but I'm not sure how or if it could fit into this deck.
