Curse of Vitality

Enchantment — Aura Curse

Enchant player

Whenever enchanted player is attacked, you gain 2 life. Each opponent attacking that player does the same.

I have a Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts deck where the goal is to encourage other player to attack me and other certain card such as Norn's Annex Revenge of Ravens will trigger. So my question is what are some good cards that can make it more beneficial/forceful to attack me? So far I have, Angel's Trumpet Coveted Jewel Curse of Disturbance Curse of Vitality Luminarch Ascension Season of the Witch

Here is the deck Teysa Ghostly Instigator

Goad is not a good mechanic, as it forces the creatures to attack someone else other than him. That's not what he really wants.

Angel's Trumpet sort of forces the creatures to attack. Crown of Doom works as an incentive for the opponents to attack you. Season of the Witch also forces everyone (you included) to attack.

Have you considered cursing yourself? The curse auras say "enchant player", not "enchant opponent", meaning you can curse yourself so that opponents get an incentive by attacking you. It's a bit of a trade off: you attack me, lose your creature but get something else in return.

Changes, 12 Feb 2022: -1 Dictate of Karametra, -1 Heartbeat of Spring, +1 Enlightened Tutor, +1 Worldly Tutor. After getting Dictate and Heartbeat into play recently, I knew these two had to go. While getting double mana is fun, the most noticeable effect is that it slloooowwwwsss the gaaaammmeeee dooooooowwwwwnnnnnnnn. Each turn takes way longer when everyone has to perform complex multivariable integral calculus to figure out how they need to tap to get the mana they want. These two slots are better occupied by tutors that can grab whatever enchantment or creature I want for the game situation.

-1 Azor's Elocutors, +1 Idyllic Tutor. The Elocutors were dead weight every time I drew them. Even if I wanted to make a run at winning with them, it's way too hard to avoid damage 5 times around in a multiplayer game for them to fire. Good to cut for the last tutor I wanted to include.

-1 Curse of Vitality, +1 Horizon Stone. While the curses are fun, they do single someone out which is not what it seems this deck wants to be about. Vitality seems the weaker of the two by far (although Verbosity is probably on the chopping block once I get my hands on the Neon Dynasty cards I want to include), so out it comes to make room for my second mana-keeper effect. I see the tutors being included now being used to find either the stone or Kruphix in a great many games.

Surata, Forest's Guide

Legendary Creature - Elf Vampire

Return a creature from your graveyard to your hand: Target permanent you control gains Hexproof until end of turn.

"Sister, you need to keep better track of your pets!" - Surata, to Nisharra.

1/2

So the guy on Curse of Opulence, Flame Blitz, Curse of Bounty, Curse of Disturbance, Curse of Verbosity and Curse of Vitality is actually a Planeswalker, simply known as "The Unluckiest." According to he is "snazzy and sharp, but always in the wrong place at the wrong time. He has a knack of getting in trouble, yet always ends up not dying." Make a REAL name for him, and a planeswalker card for him.

Hey, you're welcome. Nice update so far.

Yes, Cliffhaven Vampire is an upgrade for Epicure of Blood because Cliffhaven is one less mana and has flying. Etchings of the Chosen is a good card with Vamp tokens, it's a an upgrade for Ethereal Absolution or Curse of Vitality .

For €10 get Captivating Vampire 5, Drana, Liberator of Malakir 3, Sol Ring 1. Sol is a staple card in Commander for ramp and it helps when playing a lot of high CMC cards. Having a powerful three drop Vamp to curve into after one and two drops Vamps with Vamp tokens is good for the mid game. Drana, Liberator of Malakir and Captivating Vampire are two of the better three drop Vamps to get damage done in the mid game until you can cast Edgar or Regent later on.

Changes to consider to add these three are:

You still want to cut three cards to make 100. Cards to consider cutting:

My advice for the next upgrades are to improve the manabase and ramp by adding more dual lands that can ETB untapped and mana rocks to improve ramp. This can be done by cutting lands that always ETB tapped and some five/four/three CMC cards for ramp to help to cast the better high CMC cards such as Edgar. This change will speed up game play making it easier to cast one, two and three drop Vamps.

The avg. CMC of your deck is high at 3.5, with only 33 lands can be inconsistent to have mana to cast cards. Low CMC mana rocks can be used in place of lands since they can make mana and also help with color fixing.

Some examples of mana rock and budget land upgrades:

Haha yes, o m g yes :D I have to say that I really don´t like commander but my group only wants to play that so I made a group hug deck using Selvala, Explorer Returned as my commander. So I play cards like Upwelling, Magus of the Vineyard, Shizuko, Caller of Autumn to give everyone (including me) a ton of mana and play stuff like Curse of the Forsaken and Curse of Vitality on MYSELF so I can see the chaos on the table while people start to either attack me for the life or protect me for all the bonusses I provide. It´s hella fun!

Just for fun I put Helix Pinnacle in my deck but I never played it because I don´t really intend to win, just to have fun watching the others fall into chaos but one match was just hours over hours , nothing happening and I got so pi***d off, that I saved like 120 mana, dropped the Helix and insta-won since I finally wanted it to end!

Everyone was just watching me, jaws dropped while I gathered my cards and said my goodbye´s for the day XD

I believe that the current challenge is:

"So canonically, the guy featured in the Curse set is a Planeswalker who is cursed with misfortune. He ultimately did die, but was never given a name nor a card.

Fix this.

Bonus Challenge: Make him WUBRG, and make him feel "cursed", in that case each powerful ability has a downside, has an upside for your opponents or can backfire on you (flipping coins, rolling dice, choosing at random, etc.)"
