The more I think about it the more excited I get about the possibilities of this set. Unsurprisingly the ocean has a lot of stuff in it, so they can really go crazy with the non-legendary creatures. Clinging Anemones, Colossal Whale, Walking Sponge, even just stuff like Coral Eel… I just hope it isn’t entirely legendary blue-green merfolk and black-red pirates. PLEASE give me something to work with, Wizards, like Homarid Spawning Bed and Deep Spawn. Let’s get into the weird corners of the seas! (And please - no more flying whales/jellyfish. Cripes.)

Epicurus Good history, thanks. I don't want to bog down this thread, but biology hasn't ever been a major concern of creature types, unless they're cute or impressive mammals. There's no taxonomically convincing reason to separate Bronze Sable and Joven's Ferrets but group Clinging Anemones and Man-o'-War as jellyfish, and it gets even worse outside of the animal kingdom. Plant and Fungus are as narrow as it gets.

Nope.

Evolve triggers only when a creature enters the battlefield. It will not trigger due to a permanent becoming a creature, whether it's through Crew or otherwise.
