Sorry I have been gone.

DovahWalrus, 11 years ago

Sorry about the lack of updates on this deck I have been busy, however I do plan on going to the pre-release maybe there are some cards that can fit into this deck although I doubt it.

It's About Time For a Sideboard... and an Eldrazi

Bigbadbear88, 11 years ago

Took 2x Jagged-Scar Archers out of the mainboard and put 4x Jagged-Scar Archers into the sideboard. In the place of the 2 archers, I added another Immaculate Magistrate and, just for kicks, an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. Emrakrul, already amazingly powerful, adds two VERY important things to this deck, even if he's not played outright. Firstly, He adds a second turn after I use Primal Surge, making that card an instant win without having to wait for them to scoop or for it to be my turn again. Second, he adds a huge resistance to milling, which I'm pretty weak against, as when he's milled my whole deck gets shuffled back into my library, allowing me to indefinately resist a to-graveyard mill deck!

Still Tinkering

theinfernumflame, 11 years ago

I've still been working on the deck, making little changes (sometimes daily). While the deck still relies on the graveyard, the fact that the goal is now to cast a Gifts Ungiven as soon as possible allowed me to redesign the deck with more drawing and less dredge. This means the deck still has a big end game involving the graveyard, but won't just roll over and die to graveyard hate. The additions of Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Nephalia Drownyard (along with Jace, Memory Adept) mean that milling the opponent is quite possible, and in some long games, might become the primary plan for winning. Drownyard and Jace, especially, are versatile in letting me mill myself (if I want more targets for Sun Titan or Eternal Witness) or mill the opponent.

Im debating adding a Glissa, the Traitor *oversized* to this deck. It would work really well with Unholy Citadel

Note: Add 2 mirrorworks into that. They add a nice touch.

First FNM Coming Up

Hellriding_Spitfire, 11 years ago

My first FNM with this deck is tomorrow and I am really excited. Thank you for all the help. The deck above (susceptible to change) is the one I will be taking, sideboard and all. The Temple of Malices are Rakdos Guildgates temporarily.

Akroan Horse + Hellkite Tyrant Win-Condition

-Logician, 11 years ago

Credit to chrizzilla for this combo. I actually approve of this win-condition quite a lot.

Tutor these when you finally want to win.

  1. Savage Summoning
  2. Prophet of Kruphix
  3. Ogre Battledriver
  4. Akroan Horse
  5. Hellkite Tyrant
  6. Fated Infatuation
  7. Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage

Then just do this.

  1. Go infinite mana.
  2. Savage Summoning > Prophet of Kruphix > Ogre Battledriver > Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage > Akroan Horse. (You don't have to do Savage Summoning and Prophet like I do on like every combo, it's just good practice and a lot of fun. Since this combo requires you to attack, it has to be on your turn, sadly, so having flash doesn't really matter.)
  3. Akroan Horse triggers. Before it resolves, cast Fated Infatuation on Akroan Horse and populate it infinitely with Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage. You opponent gains control of all of them.
  4. Cast Hellkite Tyrant. He has haste from Ogre Battledriver. Attack with it. He has flying, so none of the horses can block.
  5. ???
  6. profit.

Whip / Hammer

GodzillaKingofMonsters, 11 years ago

Trying to figure out if I should sideboard them, or if I should have both as a 2 of in the MB. Looking for some feedback concerning this.

Sideboard

zamboza, 11 years ago

Sideboard is done! I still have to work a bit on it though.

Planeswalkers somewhat found.

Pantslessmaniac, 11 years ago

Thinking of using Gideon Jura and Venser, the Soujourner as my planeswalkers, but if you notice a planeswalker that would fit my deck better, please post a comment!

Subtract Artifacts

QuentinD, 11 years ago

I made some changes by taking out some artifacts so that I could more effectively switch in cards from my sideboard: -1x Accorder's Shield, -1x Bone Saw, -2x Goblin Gaveleer. -1x Memnite, -4x Goblin Arsonist

I added in: +3 Spikeshot Elder, +3x Krenko's Command, +2 Teetering Peaksfoil, +1 Mountain

I now have 11 artifacts to sac for Kuldotha Rebirth and more land so I don't get mana screwed anymore.

MDN 13 / 45

I'm trying out some swords in this deck. The light and shadow is there for the pro, jund and soul sisters, life gain can be relevant late game, and it's great when you chump block a snapaboo and get him back. Feast and famine gives pro which helps against again, jund, and untapping all our lands let's us have counters up all the time and feel free to cast all the things in our hand on our turn
