Tonight, I have discovered that the Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord into a buffed Mossbridge Troll is just too damn hilarious.

deck play style information

negetivevelocity, 11 years ago

forgot to mention, there is only supposed to be low cost supportive creatures in the deck, no massive high power high cost ones. i find they take too long to get onto the field, and my strategies begins to revolve around them rather than what i can play.

ASPECT OF HYDRA IS SO GOOD!!!

CurdBrosBrewingCo, 11 years ago

ASPECT OF HYDRA IS REALLY GOOD

Aspect of Hydra has proven to be unreal. In a board without a beater; you can easily steal a game by attacking with several creatures and pumping up the one that is not blocked. I am seriously cinsidering running four (removing the Fertile Ground's).

fijord, 11 years ago

Play tested against an orzhov soul sisters deck and did quite ok, in the 4 games I played, I managed to win 3 of them. This made me happy, given the state the deck is in, it also gave me a quick look into other modern decks that I might be up against in the future. I only wish I could test against Jund, Tron, affinity, etc to get a feel for what they play like against bogles, but I figure that time will come soon enough.

Out: Tower of the Magistrate Divinity of Pride Birthing Pod Avatar of Woe In: Homeward Path Unmake Stinkweed Imp Baneslayer Angel Both lands are pretty situational, but Homeward Path saves me from an Insurrection kill (and creatures reanimated out of my graveyard, or bribed out of my library), while the Tower has done little to earn its keep. Divinity of Pride has the potential to be bigger than Baneslayer, but Baneslayer's extra first strike and trinket text (which isn't irrelevant in EDH) is really nice. Birthing Pod was a pretty hard cut, but I don't have many things in the 4 and 5 cmc range, and I don't like podding away my 6 and 7 drops. Stinkweed Imp is really a placeholder until I figure out a better replacement, but for now, he is a decent flying blocker.

Update #1

Cleared comments. Added 2 Pendelhaven.

The deck has been performing wonderfully so far. Still trying to get my hands on a playset of Birds of Paradise to replace Elvish Mystic.

I'm looking for the biggest, baddest, strongest creatures from these colors. What are the best viable flyers out there for EDH in these colors? Also looking for suggestions about cards that don't belong. I want to bring the creature count up a bit as well. I'm a noob at this. Appreciate your help, thanks!!

This is more or less the final version of the decklist. Not currently looking for suggestions but feel free to comment with any questions or cool ideas you come up with for your own deck, or just if you like the idea! Thanks for scoring this so high and I appreciate all the input that got me to this point.

Tweaked

uvasean, 11 years ago

Added a Frozen Aether to give another full-lock win-con, and dropped an Island (with all the card draw, the mana was okay with 24 total)

mkauling, 11 years ago

Retirei os dois Ascensão do Luminarca, porque ainda não consegui utilizar a carta em jogo. Adicionei um Open The Vaults, caso destruam meus encantamentos. Adicionei um crânio de orm para a mesma finalidade.

Some major changes

BMiller824, 11 years ago

So, I found that far too often, I'd have a lot of redundant flicker options. I'd have 3 guys out that I could flicker for card draw, 3 I could flicker for land tutor, and my only reliable kills were Avenger of Zendikar and Craterhoof Behemoth. So... I've changed things up. There is a much heavier focus on Voltron-ing Roon (Or any creature! But Roon is quite good at it). Primeval Titan is "unbanned" in my playgroup, in exchange for Deadeye Navigator. Without both pieces, the Titan isn't completely broken, and we play much closer to French EDH (though obviously not quite. Sol ring is still here). The changes I've made cost about $80. So... I want some feedback on the cards in here first. Is there anything that looks completely out of place to you? I have a very clear picture in my head of what's going to happen with this deck, but another perspective would be very much appreciated. Please don't suggest Sylvan Primordial or Duplicant or Terastodon or Woodfall Primus or Avenger of Zendikar or Craterhoof Behemoth. They've all been in this deck. They've been removed, because honestly, they're not fun, and they made the games go down one path every single time. Considering Regal Force. Thoughts?

If the opponent's deck is focused on gaining life, Skullcrack does wonders.

If he's got a hard removal spell that somehow exiles all your Master of Cruelties, search a Slaughter Games and remove his spell first.

fadetoblack1183, 11 years ago

Well I found the deck costs only $7 on MGTO so I've been playing it and have gone 7-2 so far, getting my opponents down to 1 and 2 life in the two losses. It is a lot of fun to play, it's a budget deck, and I managed a turn 3 kill in one match :) This deck is "all-in", in that there is no creature removal, it uses life as a resource, is weak to mass removal (or removal in general if you over-reach) and can run out of gas after turn 5 if you're not careful. You only need three lands out, after that hold on to them as fuel for Avatar of Discord, Drekavac and Syphon Life. Suggestions are welcome as always and if anyone gets this (on paper or MGTO) and plays it let me know how it goes. Like I said it is super cheap.

Theros! || RIP Jace's Phantasm

ducttapedeckbox, 11 years ago

With the loss of Jace's Phantasm, and the noteworthy Thought Scour, this deck needs to be revamped. I have cleared the past comments and hope to find a spark to get this deck going again. Thank you to everyone that has helped with this deck!
