#2; Let us press on

Gentlemen: We are at the #2 spot. The fine efforts of this community will soon pay off, and we will see our beloved Brigade reach the pinnacle of honour. I daresay our mainboard is in its final form, thanks to the wisdom and kind suggestions of all. For just $50, we have created a very stout Brigade that is fit to take the field against all manner of foes. My hat is eternally off to all of you, who have made this possible through beneficent counsel and kind support. The highest honour belongs with you.BlitzOmen, 11 years ago
Took to FNM for first run. Black Aggro decks hurt so added some Dark Betrayal to sideboard (should have done this initially). Added Duskmantle to give a possible win condition against other mill decks after coming up against this in a mirror where my own Phenax milled me. Jace, AoT is nice against smaller decks, just keeps them at bay whilst you mill out and use Ashiok to bring in chump blockers. Shocklands would make a great option as guildgates often leave me a turn behind, especially if I don't have a T3/4 Island or Swamp available to drop a much needed Ashiok, Nightveil or counter.Deck tweaks

REALLY like how this has been testing out. I am going to take this to FNM either this week or next to test it out against the field.Additions

Well I finally got all the cards for this deck. I cheapened my cost a bit by forgoing Eldrazi, but the deck still seems quite big and pretty fast. Myr Battlesphere is incredible and Wurmcoil Engine and Batterskull do a lot to stabilize me in the mid game. Aggro decks are a bit problematic, and it really becomes a race to how fast I can assemble Tron. Not sure if there's a cheap colorless or green removal spell that could shore up this weakness or not. I love playing this deck though. So fun.5th final in a row!

This deck is performing admirably. I have continued to invest in it to the point where it is no longer budget, but the deck is superb. I like how the main deck works now, I just have to keep thinking on the sideboard. Any SB suggestions are welcome! P.S. I hate BUG Infect!Considerations

With the upcoming release of Journey into Nyx, I encountered Eidolon of Blossoms. I think she could really speed up the deck. Nylea's Presence could also boost her ability and provide a different color of mana if I needed it to activate the abilities of opponent's monsters. Think it would do some good?DarkRequiem, 11 years ago
Removed 1 Plains and 1Sejiri Steppe to add 1 Kor Haven and 1 Forbidding Watchtower.
Also added 1 Trading Post and 1 Weathered Wayfarer. The Post will replace Argivian Find and at the moment I'm unsure about what to remove for the Wayfarer (for now I'll remove Expedition Map to keep it at 100 cards but since this might not be the best choice, I might have to add it back again).
And swapped out a Gorgon's Head for a Basilisk Collar.
PS - Instead of Expedition Map I removed Burnished Hart. I find the Map more reliable than the Hart.

Hi Guys, im too excited, ive played the old version of the deck, and finished in last position, BUT, im so CLOSE of win EVERY game, the deck only need more Flexibility, and i pretend to give this for it, i managed to put some control, stability, thanks to Reaper of the Wilds + Courser of Kruphix, playng together, im far away ahed, speaking in the reaper thing, whe added Golgari Charm in the main board, because wrath, can slow down us a little bit, its why Verdejant Raven is SO BIG, it give life, advantage, and simply dont die, speaking in things dont die, try putting the Chromanticore on reaper, when you have a lots of mana, or in Sylvan Caryatid its simple INSANE for blocker, but, only on "point Removal" king of decks, and for the last, a forth copy of Garruk, Caller of Beasts he is so great, ive put some creatures (1 of each only) to functioning with him, imagine a turn 3 Ruric Thar, the Unbowed or Prime Speaker Zegana or Prophet of Kruphix, hehehe, thats all guys, i hope you enjoyed, and lets test the deck, if you have sugestions Speak Up !!! i apreciate all kinds of help !! Thanks !!jaskamakkara, 11 years ago
Changed Hopeful Eidolon back to Nyxborn Shieldmate, I found that one bonus of the Shieldmate is the extra 1 toughness from the bestowment it has over the Eidolon which instantly takes the Akroan Skyguard and Phalanx Leader out of range of Lightning Strike or Bolt of Keranos, which is really handy. I tested this deck against an aggressive Rakdos deck, and it performed OK. It really heavily relies on getting something out of range of the burn spells ASAP to give you the time to get some enchantments online.
I also got a Temple Garden from a booster, which I have put in here.
New Main Deck after Testing

Learned some lessons from playing more matches. Took out the black splash, moved Chandra to the SB, since she's more relevant for control matchups. Searing Blood has really proved its worth here. Split Chained to the Rocks between the main deck and the sideboard. Introduced Fated Conflagration as a reliable solution against walkers and fatties. Spark Trooper is a Warleader's Helix on steroids that really helps in the mirror match (same role as Boros Reckoner).Slumberknight, 11 years ago
At my most recent FNM, I ended up doing less than optimal, I ended the night 3-2. My first mathcup was Red splash white burn, I lost to my opponent top decking Warleader's Helix two turns in a row after dropping my opponents hand into the graveyard with a Rakdos's Return. My second matchup was a bit less fortuitous for me, I ended up getting flooded game one and then ran into a mana drought turn two, claiming my opponent's sympathy. My third game was where I made my comeback, I hit it up against a mono-red devotion deck, and 2-0 the gent. my fourth game was against a phenax mill homebrew deck. I was blown out game one, all the defenders were difficult to deal with, but games 2 and 3 ended up with my sided Mistcutter Hydra blowing through the defense with pro-blue. My last game was against green white enchantments, and ended rather quickly after I halted his eidolons with my relentless kill spells.Tournament #13

Bunch of minor changes, more win-con stuff and reliability,
Archangel of Thune and Felidar Sovereign are in now as well as Ajani's Pridemate as an earlier beater. Dropped the Heros Reunion and one of a few other things to make room.
Decided that even against the better judgement I want to keep the Tallowisp and supporters (Kodama's Reach and Blessed Breath) as a way to fetch Sunbond and/or Rancor and simply for the flavor.
I'm still iffy on the Primal Commands. Are there any better tutors in my colors that can let me grab Spike Feeder?
Just a bit more

Team: I have made a few minor changes to the Brigade personnel after some playtesting. I believe the tinkering is now done, though it would be good to fit Legion Loyalist into the list, since he's just so quick.
We've drawn close to #1, so let us strive just a bit longer and attain what honour we may. Lead the way as you have always done, good men!

I went and built the deck from what I have, it still needs tweaking so please make card suggestions and test the deck out!Under Limitless Circumstances...

If money was endless, I would put 4x Entomb, 4x Vampiric Tutor, and 4x Demonic Tutor. But as life is, I don't have $240 to spend for cards on a deck that people won't want to play against. Such is life.Vinjinzo, 11 years ago
Removed: Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver, Chromescale Drake, and Dissipate.
Added: Skeleton Shard, Assert Authority, and Override.
I also removed 2 Island, 1 Swamp, and a Plains for a Vivid Marsh, Vivid Creek, Vivid Meadow, and a Seat of the Synod.
