I want GW fair decks to be good but they're kinda shat on by the top dogs of the format. I want to build a deck that can beat Valakut, Storm, Tron, and so on. The rest of the field, the agro and control, that's a fair midrangey fight that I'm willing to take. My response is a ghost quarter/knightfall deck. TBH I think I just have to agro Valakut out, but such is life. Shalai is...ok. Having a Gaddock Teeg would be nice. 1x Gaddock Teeg in sideboard FOR SURE. But money money money...
Regarding Collected Company: I respect that it's a powerful effect, and Knightfall is probably one of the best Coco decks. But I dislike it's inconsistency, and have opted for Eldritch Evolution in that slot. Killing Birds of Paradise, Lotus Cobra, Voice of Resurgence, or Eternal Witness after they've outlived their value feels pretty great. It again has the upside of making Gaddock Teeg reasonable, but c'est la vie. Reprint pls wotc.
As a toolbox deck, I could have an anti-sac option to beat All Is Dust and Living End. I am left to wonder if Tajuru Preserver vs Sigarda, Host of Herons might be worth a sideboard slot.
Just to point out a delightful little 'combo', Lotus Cobra + Knight of the Reliquary + Tireless Tracker chains clues like a motherfucker.
A more agressive configuration of the deck might cut the lotus cobras for Strangleroot Geist, and go down a land and a courser of kruphix for 2 more mana dorks. Having an aggressive curve is important when you're as durdly as this deck. Actually, cutting some of the top end and tool box elements might be better still; Linvala, Keeper of Silence is probably more of a sideboard card, I probably don't need a card of as mediocre power as Fairgrounds Warden, even if it does provide a useful angle in my toolbox, and I might be able to trim 1/2 Wilt-Leaf Liege and/or Courser of Kruphix. Cutting 1 Liege, 1 Warden, 1 Linvala from the main for some testing atm.
