legendofa Alara is the plane from which all three cards that reference Ennor originate: the first and last ones you linked, Vectis Dominator and Vedalken Ghoul, are from the set Alara Reborn, the third set of the Alara block. Esper Charm is from Shards of Alara, the same block's first set. One of three things about this character is true:

1: Ennor is the Human Wizard found on Vectis Dominator and not the Vedalken Zombie found on Vedalken Ghoul. This makes the flavor text for Vedalken Ghoul feel a bit out of place.

2: Ennor is the Vedalken Ghoul, and not Vectis Dominator, and his quote is being borrowed by this human wizard. Still odd, but somewhat less so.

3: The art direction for Vectis Dominator did not specify the creature type, or its flavor text was written for a different card.

I love Alara tho- one of my fav planes.

Baru Greenhands

Legendary Creature - Human Druid

Whenever another creature with power 4 or greater enters the battlefield under your control, put two +1/+1 counters on target Forest you control. That land becomes a 0/1 Plant creature with haste.

4/4

Create a new version of another Grandeur creature, or create a card for Ennor, the mentalist who appears in flavor text for Esper Charm , Vectis Dominator , and Vedalken Ghoul (and Stonecoil Serpent ??).

Hmm. Everything I'm coming up with has green. Tooth and Nail, Steel Leaf Champion, Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers... Would Vectis Dominator count?

Blind Obedience + Royal Assassin is pretty sweet value, so I like the basis of the deck. However, a lot of the other pieces look quite slow, so I think we can tweak some things here to try and streamline the deck. I see that you're working on a budget, so I'll try to not suggest any expensive cards. In no particular order:

  1. Mark of Asylum is too narrow to have in the mainboard. It should be in the sideboard. The same goes for Witchbane Orb.

  2. Vectis Dominator strikes me as really bad. It's a 3-drop with a weak body and your opponent can pay life to avoid the tap effect. I'd go for Goldmeadow Harrier so that you can assure yourself of having early tap effects.

  3. You need removal spells to help you keep the game under control until you can get your value pieces together. I think cards like Doom Blade, Go for the Throat, Path to Exile, or even Orzhov Charm are a good place to start.

  4. Gideon Jura is a control finisher and doesn't belong here. Try Elspeth, Knight-Errant or Gideon, Ally of Zendikar instead.

  5. Your sideboard should let you change gears into an aggressive strategy in case your opponent doesn't have creatures. The thing that does best is tokens, so cards like Lingering Souls and perhaps Midnight Haunting (your manabase won't be able to cast Spectral Procession consistently) will do the trick.

I would add Dimir Machinations to get Royal Assassin, Gideon's Avenger, Vectis Dominator or Vampire Nighthawk, And Guardian Zendikon against creatureless deck (or just to destroy some expensive lands ;) )
