Pharika, God of Affliction
Legendary Enchantment Creature — God
As long as your devotion to black and green is less than seven, Pharika isn't a creature.
BG: Exile target creature card from a graveyard. Its owner puts a 1/1 black and green snake enchantment creature token with deathtouch onto the battlefield.

Pharika, God of Affliction Discussion

The effect your replicating is Xathrid Slyblade , but unlike the Slyblade your creatures don't have any protection. Glissa, the Traitor also has both deathtouch and first strike, it even has a degree of synergy with your equipment. Ambush Viper has flash, so it can essentially function as a kill spell. Arena is a repeatable fight effect stapled to a land. The gods, Rhonas the Indomitable and Pharika, God of Affliction could be made for this deck, given it's themes...
Majestic Myriarch, isn't a new idea Cairn Wanderer , Soulflayer and Odric, Lunarch Marshal , but since none of your creatures have trample (sure they could Chariot of Victory but it costs 3 to cast and you only have 2) it can still be chump blocked by Lingering Souls in most cases. You could run Skinshifter , to provide trample or flying, alternatively use a cheap trampler like Charging Badger . Hope this helps, good luck brewing your deck.

Asder's initial challenge:
Scarred and Shredded
Target creature you control gains wither until end of turn. That creature fights target creature you don't control.
Theros Prophet cycle
Prophet of Pharika
Creature - Gorgon Cleric
: Prophet of Pharika gains indestructible until end of turn. Tap it.
If you have at least 6 more life than target player, you may sacrifice Prophet of Pharika. If you do, search your library for a card named Pharika, God of Affliction, reveal it, and put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

I used to run Savra way back. Mine wasn't nearly as tuned so I think your deck is pretty cool. Anyhow Pharika, God of Affliction, didn't exist yet but I think it would've been really good at hating other people's graveyards without diluting the power of the deck too much. Also check out Avatar of Woe if you're not having trouble filling the graveyard or keeping card advantage. It was one of my favorite, but a little hit or miss since I usually didn't want to find it while empty handed or at the start of the game.

I'm sure you have thought of these, but Traverse the Ulvenwald, Eldritch Evolution and Kitchen Finks are all in your colours... Aside from those Hangarback Walker often makes an appearance in similar lists, maybe Chamber Sentry for budget. Or you could try Nyx Weaver or Pharika, God of Affliction, Athreos, God of Passage which count as both an enchantment and a creature for delirium and seem fitting... Skinshifter might be worth a try if you want to stay budget friendly...
Just some quick thoughts, hope they help.

I'd run 4x Grim Flayer, which you have in your maybe board and if you want to stay reasonably budget 4x Skinshifter. Swap Eyeblight's Ending for Cast Down, Grasp of Darkness, Smother or as Zakkaery suggested Assassin's Trophy. You could also try Nyx Weaver or Pharika, God of Affliction which count as both an enchantment and a creature for delirium. Maybe Dowsing Dagger Flip, if you can flip it it will provide more ramp, but it slows your play...
Some quick thoughts, hope they help.

superwill123 it's very an original take ! have you ever thought about adding maybe a Pharika, God of Affliction ? It could serve 3 goals in your deck : 1 - Token creation for opponent 2 - remove threats from graveyard 3 - instant speed blockers for you and opponent for politic and get rid of big dudes. Also, it's indestructible. Let me know what you think !

Creature - Boar
Protection from blue.
Whenever Silvertusk Boar attacks, you may discard a card at random from your hand into your graveyard. If you do, Silvertusk Boar can not be blocked this turn.
Spells and spears seem to bounce right off it's hide.
Hope I did the challenge justice. I personally think this is a pretty cool Boar. I'd run it, especially in Madness decks. Probably just 2x because of the cost, but still. Free discard outlet and 4 damage? Nice.
I'm super happy because I got a Bundle of Guilds and pulled a Sacred Foundry, Vraska, Golgari Queen, Chamber Sentry, 2x Venerated Loxodon, 2x Ritual of Soot (Got a Golgari toolkit thingy, too), Runaway Steam-Kin, Izoni, Thousand-Eyed, Light of the Legion, Dimir Guildgate, * Emmara, Soul of the Accord. (Card's are "meh" cost-wise but I love to play with under-impressive cards and get them to work, so I'm happy.)
So I kinda want to tinker around a bit and see if I can work up some Abzan jank. Haven't tried that for a while. I'm also super stoked that we got 2x new Gorgon creatures: Arisen Gorgon in 2019 and Pitiless Gorgon in Guilds. Between those, Assassin's Trophy and Fatal Push I think I can finally build my long-awaited Modern Gorgon Tribal!! :D That's been a deck on my radar for years now but it's always had way too high of a CMC to pull off. I think I can finally nail it down. And with Vraska, Golgari Queen having a super low casting cost, I can run it with her. Tons and tons of mass removal with a decent slew of cheaper Gorgons buffed by Metallic Mimic & Adaptive Automaton & maybe 1 or 2 Creakwood Liege with probably 1x Pharika, God of Affliction for duds in my Graveyard. Idk just yet.
GORGON TRIBAL BABY!!
- "That's great and all TypicalTimmy, but what's your F-ing challenge?!?"
Let's go back to Tarkir (My most beloved Plane!) and go Abzan (Since those colors are on my mind). I'd like to see a functional Abzan Gorgon Hydra! Yup! What a design! Hehehe have fun!

I'd like to ask a few questions about Pharika, God of Affliction when the Theros block was in Standard.
See, I wasn't playing MTG back then. I came in during the release of Magic: Origins. Though I did play from time to time throughout my highschool years (2004 - 2007) and later in college (2009 - 2012), but I didn't actually start buying and building decks until M:O. Simply put, it was a passive interest and I'd just borrow a friend's deck for the day.
No, my questions are these:
- When Pharika, God of Affliction was in Standard, was there an over-abundance of creature removal? Because her ability seems to specifically target creatures which have already been killed / discarded / milled?
- Was there a lot of graveyard tricks around the Theros block, and thus the potency of exiling creatures was of great benefit?
- What was the mechanical purpose of giving your opponent a 1/1 token? I understand that paying for a permanent removal from the game is really cheap, so the cost is offset in some way, but why give them a 1/1 DEATHTOUCH chump blocker?
She's always struck me as the odd-ball of the Gods. They are all so darn straight-forward.
Iroas, God of Victory gives your guys Menace. That's awesome!
Mogis, God of Slaughter is an Indestructible sac-engine. Oooh, boy and I use him very often in my Rakdos decks.
Erebos, God of the Dead stomps out life totals and is a seriously under-rated draw engine. I mean, SERIOUSLY YOU DON'T EVEN TAP HIM WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE?!
Kruphix, God of Horizons - Dude, just stop. I've run decks where I pool over 100 mana and people end up forgetting about it until I drop bombs like I'm ((insert outdated reference of your choice, here.))
Karametra, God of Harvests Oh. My. God. "Hey, I see you tapped your lands this turn to play a creature. Let me help you out with that <3"
I mean they are all soooo good.
Then there's Pharika.
"Hey, I heard you like combat tricks, hand manipulation, sac, burn, draw engines, land drops... so how about I create some 1/1 Deathtouch tokens for your opponent?"
Seriously. I can't logically wrap my head around her. Either you exile your own graveyard for some chump blockers which I guess is okay, or you give your opponent said chump blockers and, well let's hope you've got yourself Nylea, God of the Hunt and they don't have Archetype of Courage.
I just... I don't see it.
Were you supposed to combo Nylea, God of the Hunt + Erebos, God of the Dead + Pharika, God of Affliction and hope you get all three out so you can swing for damage that can't be recovered from? Because honestly, that seems really difficult to do.
So what's going on here? What am I missing? What was Standard like back then that warranted a card like this to be made?
(Wait, was Dredge a thing around this time? Then I could understand it. Discarding / milling yourself and turning them into protection seems like a logical method, but I don't know if that was a thing or not in Standard. Hence the thread.)
