So, landwise I do not like the Valakut, and would recommend either Haven of the Spirit Dragon, Flamekin Village or an Utility land like Buried Ruin. Also not a fan of Brave the Sands and Dowsing Dagger. just too cute for me. Still a fan of Scroll Rack when you play Land Tax though :)

Creaturewise I think Dragonmaster Outcast is just too low impact, also Moonveil Dragon and Skyship Stalker are a bit weak. Even though Dragonspeaker Outcast provides great ramp I am struggling with that one. There are a few dragons which merit further exploration I think, but can depend on what you are facing.

Thunderbreak Regent (A rattlesnake and nicely costed)

Thundermaw Hellkite (can clear the way for your non-trampling attack)

Scourge of the Throne (it is perfectly easy to get an additional attack out of this at least once)

Rimescale Dragon (would require moving to snow lands, a bit clunky manawise)

Kilnmouth Dragon (good utility dragon, but with the nr. of dragons you are running may be awkward)

Hellkite Charger (additional attacks? would pair nicely with neheb :)

Flameblast Dragon (no need to hit a player to dish out damage)

Wardscale Dragon (defense during your attack)

Nesting Dragon (The egg tokens are a good thing against board wipes)

Some Card Draw Dragons

Hoarding Dragon (Without the ability to misuse the ability may be a bit weak)

Eternal Dragon (more slow moving)

Dream Pillager (good effect, setup to high maybe)

Skyline Despot (well draws at least one cards and monarch makes stuff move)

Runehorn Hellkite (this one I really like. Usable EOT before you have your turn makes this really good)

Hi, as a fellow dragon lover I would like to offer some advice. You might want to add Phyrexian Arena and Rishkar's Expertise. Both cards are great and I would even replace Rhystic Study. At some point, poeple start paying one and you don't really get to refill as much as you'd like.

I'd also sugest working on the mana base of the deck. I am not sure what your resources are, but you could try basic lands with Check lands, because tapped lands are death to 5-color decks. This could open up to adding basic land ramp, which is not really terrible if you happen to have all the good cards for ramping like that. Eternal Dragon has been absolutely stellar for me, although I do run 10 shocks and 10 checks and a couple of Fetches. I ended up cutting control and removal cards in favor of just playing dragons and drawing cards and has worked out pretty nicely for me. I removed all walkers from the deck, because they didn't get the discounts from Ur and were awkward to defend. How's Taigam working out for you? He doesn't seem to have a lot to work with. I'd swap him for a dragon or some removal.

Lurking Predators is a card I am currently playtesting and it has a lot of potential the more creatures you have.O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami is a card I have a very strong love-hate relationship. Everythime I want to include it, I end up cutting it out of the deck because it feels...weird. Zirilan of the Claw is a Commander on his own and is too mana intensive and slow for a deck like this so I wouldn't reccomend it. Dragonstorm is unfortunately almost unplayable here because the card reaaaly likes to play with other spells to charge up the Storm. It's an expensive tutor and I've so far skipped it. You could try Sarkhan's Triumph instead. Knollspine Dragon not particularly interesting and not a great draw engine, I'd skip it. Stormbreath Dragon I'd include depending on my playgroup. So far, I haven't felt the need but it's almost making the cut.Jugan, the Rising Star is bad, just bad.

If you could, I would suggest Dragonlord Silumgar,Dragonlord Atarka and last but not least Dragonlord Kolaghan because her Haste is amazing to have.

Like, fine with the Mind's Eye thing, I don't think I would run it either, I was just making a joke on removing Mikokoro, Center of the Sea for it since they work well together.

Before I go over Scroll Rack, Weathered Wayfarer is my favorite one drop creature in the game. It fixes mana, I run it with Desert of the True, Secluded Steppe, Blasted Landscape, and Drifting Meadow in my mono-white (Hokori, Dust Drinker), and it puts in serious card draw. Consider running a couple more cycling lands, but you don't need them. I always ran Mistveil Plains to bottom the cycling lands, and fetch them out again. Weathered Wayfarer became ": Draw a card." which is really powerful on a two drop that can fetch out Kor Haven, Maze of Ith, Buried Ruin, Inventors' Fair, Sequestered Stash, Inkmoth Nexus, etc.

Now onto the Scroll Rack point. Land Tax is a combo, yes, but Weathered Wayfarer is too. So is Sword of the Animist, so is Stonehewer Giant, occasionally Eternal Dragon is. And that's not including constant shuffling effects, think of Steelshaper's Gift, Open the Armory, Tithe, Enlightened Tutor, Knight of the White Orchid, Stoneforge Mystic, Recruiter of the Guard, Thalia's Lancers, Oblation can be (I guess Path to Exile technically could be), Field of Ruin, Expedition Map, Inventors' Fair, Myriad Landscape, and all of the other effects you could run if you wanted two, like the good fetches, Arid Mesa, Windswept Heath, Flooded Strand, and Marsh Flats.

Not even including all of those, you run so much shuffle, plenty of which are every turn, that though you might not need Land Tax, Scroll Rack would do you wonders, and in testing, it works so much more than you give credit for. (I just ran the deck with one less plains)

Treasure Hunter and Salvage Scout are good budget replacements for Argivian Archaeologist. Restoration Specialist is also an option if enchantment recursion is desired.

Eternal Dragon is a card that does a handful of small, helpful things, relying on the utility it offers than raw power:

  • It's a tutor for a Basic if I'm missing a land drop. Never disappointing to see it in the opening hand.
  • It's a tutor for Mistveil Plains.
  • Provides an inconsequential shuffle effect to refresh my library for Sensei's Divining Top.
  • It's a 5/5 flier in a pinch. Great base body for Equipment.

Eternal Dragon is an underwhelming creature by today's standards, but it does just enough for me to keep it around.

What you should be scared of is Stoneforge Mystic being unbanned in Modern, and the price spikes that will result from it. I've had this nagging feeling that this unban is close. And if it happens, Sword of Fire and Ice will be the first Sword on everyone's radar and can easily jump past $100 from hype alone.

Regardless, WotC has been gun-shy with powerful Equipment since New Phyrexia. The likelihood of a reprint making the Swords' prices tank is minuscule. Their power level from a Standard perspective is so high it causes nosebleeds and strong, efficient Equipment are problematic in Limited environments. It's hard to see the Swords be reprinted outside of another Masters set, which won't affect their prices that much anyway.

Buying the Swords now seems very low-risk IMO. At worst, their prices hover around the same value for the foreseeable future. At best, they explode from Modern hype.

Mana Crypt is an overglorified second Sol Ring, and can be substituted with pretty much any good mana rock. It's one of those cards that you use it if you have it and not worth the money to acquire one unless you really want it.

Rafiq of the Many is a pretty powerful Voltron option. He's a 3-turn clock with just the exalted trigger, and doesn't need much more to tighten that clock. Green and Blue open up access to stronger ramp, countermagic, card draw, and a plethora of other utility cards.

I am finally about to build this awsome deck ^^ hype hype

But I have a few questions first:
- What would you recomend playing instead of Argivian Archaeologist for people without an unlimited budget?
- How good is Eternal Dragon?
- I do not own a Sword of Fire and Ice or a Sword of Light and Shadow yet and i am kinda sacred that they will be reprinted in the near future. What would you advice to avoid loss of money there? Invest in Masterpieces? Wait to buy them?
- What is your opinion on replacing Mana Crypt with Dowsing Dagger as a budget/power decreasing cut?

And one off-topic question:
- What do you think of Rafiq of the Many as a Voltron Commander?

I'm looking at picking this decklist up, thought I'd throw a comment here with the few changes I'm making:

Abandoned Sarcophagus for Archaeomancer Cycling deck. It's a free "cast all of these now that you need them" as opposed to just bringing one back.

Also Search for azcanta for Sacred Excavation times where you are having a little bit of difficulty getting the cycle going.

Approach of the Second Sun for Wander in Death oh look, a win con for one card slot in a cycle deck, hard to say no to this.

Countervailing Winds for Eternal Dragon. Super expensive/technical/limited Squee the Immortal, that's just a 5/5 flying with plainscycle (you have quite a number of landcycles already) doesn't feel too great, I think personally I'd just rather a super hard counterspell, will be making more than enough flyers with Drake Haven as it is I feel!

I really want to find room for Nimble Obstructionist and Grasp of Fate but I just can't see what else to take out, because the pieces you have in here are really decent.

Some land changes:

Shefet Dunes for a plains OR steppe? (strong if you pump out a fairly reasonable bunch of drakes and even Migratory Route or Rise from the Tides for a power play, probably won't kill anyone with high health, but excellent for executing 15-20 hp with fliers, or forcing them to burn valuable resources to stop it, for one land).

Ipnu Rivulet for Island. Graveyard filler, Second Sun chaser, Helps you push for some cycle cards too, in a slightly different way to a flipped Search for Azcanta.

(I'm a filthy azorius second sun/drake haven player, so I'm loathe to part with them if I can fit them in a deck for another format too).
