Creature — Dragon

Flying

Whenever one or more creatures you control attacks, you gain 1 life for each attacking creature.

In a similar vein as Ancestor Dragon, could I stack the myriad triggers with the attack trigger of Marton Stromgald so that the tapped and attacking tokens ETB before Stromgald's trigger resolves, having the tokens get included in the creature total for Stromgald?

CamraMaan on Interaction between Duke Ulder Ravengard …

I have Ancestor Dragon and a bland 3/3 creature in play, and I use Duke Ulder Ravengard to give the 3/3 creature myriad. It attacks, triggering myriad and Ancestor Dragon. I then get to arrange the triggers with myriad resolving first, then Ancestor Dragon... the token copies will be in play before the Ancesstor Dragon trigger resolves, so the question is if the trigger on the stack will see the tokens, or if it was put on the stack too early to see them. Not sure how this is supposed to resolve, but I'm hoping I can find a way to gain the 1 life for each token.

Thanks in advance!

Alright!

Aegis Angel is a good card, don't get me wrong, but currently given the low number of Angels in the deck as a whole and with no Angel tribal, it might be worth looking into Avacyn, Angel of Hope or, some more budget options, Indestructibility, Gift of Immortality, Kindred Boon, Shielded by Faith, Spirit Bonds, or Timely Ward. All of these grant a single creature indestructible for a lower cost, albeit they are not attached to a big flier.

Nothing for Ajani's Pridemate. It's just a good card. If you're interested in other similar cards, Light of Promise, Archangel of Thune, Gideon's Company, Cleric Class, Heliod, Sun-Crowned, Cradle of Vitality, Celestial Unicorn, and Nykthos Paragon are some good ones.

Archetype of Courage seems a bit weak to me personally. Enchantment creature cards with the same mana value that are white and better for your deck (at least from my POV) include Eidolon of Countless Battles and Heliod, Sun-Crowned.

Banisher Priest is good.

Blinding Souleater could easily be replaced by Law-Rune Enforcer, or, if you'd prefer an artifact creature, Burnished Hart is just better in general.

Captain of the Watch and Cataclysmic Gearhulk are both good cards, though the latter doesn't seem to work too awfully well with your deck. I would consider putting in another destroy boardwipe such as Wrath of God or Fumigate.

Chardalyn Dragon is pretty bad, even for an artifact flier. Other fliers with the same mana value include Adarkar Valkyrie, Admonition Angel, Ancestor Dragon, Angelic Skirmisher, Archon of Coronation, Aven Brigadier, Empyrial Storm, et cetera... white is ton of amazing fliers! Put 'em to good use! XD If you specifically want an artifact creature to replace it, Wurmcoil Engine is a good one.

Consul's Shieldguard... see the Aegis Angel comments.

Court Street Denizen... see the Blinding Souleater comments, though this one is better so it's definitely worth keeping around if you want.

Drillworks Mole is a cool card. Basri Ket, Felidar Retreat, and Cathars' Crusade are good too.

Eldrazi Devastator is actually a card I used to run in my decks as a finisher. I would recommend something like Finale of Glory as an alternative that you can really sink your mana into.

Felidar Cub is nice, but War Priest of Thune is strictly better.

Glint-Sleeve Artisan is interesting, and I see how it plays into a bit of your artifact synergies, but if you want that, just use an artifact creature like Adaptive Automaton, Cloudsteel Kirin, or Etched Champion.

Heliod's Pilgrim has a good effect and it's flavorful, just keep in mind you only have two Auras in the deck.

Inspiring Overseer and Knight of the White Orchid are good.

Kozilek's Channeler is a decent card, but given you like small creatures I'm not sure that paying extra for a big body is a great benefit. Worn Powerstone, Thran Dynamo, Arcane Signet, and if you want to splurge Pearl Medallion are all good ramp in white.

Lagonna-Band Elder can be replaced by one of the cards I told you about in my previous comment.

From there, all your cards are great until Soulmender, which again can be replaced by one of the cards in my previous comment, or even Fountain of Renewal. Same with Stone Haven Medic and Sungrace Pegasus.

Toolcraft Exemplar is a really cool card that I have NEVER seen before. If it's working well for you, you should try out Serra Ascendant as well. It runs in a similar vein.

Welcoming Vampire is good too.

Celestial Flare could be replaced by Silence.

Dauntless Onslaught could be replaced by Charge, Bastion Protector, Benalish Marshal, Ethereal Guidance, Glorious Anthem, Guardians' Pledge, or Path of Bravery.

Divine Verdict could just be replaced by plain removal, like Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Journey to Nowhere, Cast Out, Conclave Tribunal, or Oblivion Ring.

Feat of Resistance is nice.

Gideon's Reproach - see Divine Verdict's feedback.

Gods Willing is good.

Kill Shot - see Divine Verdict's feedback. Actually, for the rest of these cards see that and Dauntless Onslaught's feedback.

Aligned Hedron Network is good.

Cloak of the Bat and Hero's Blade - see Dauntless Onslaught's feedback, but also Commander's Plate.

Spidersilk Net doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you want another 0-mana artifact, look no further than Mishra's Bauble.

Font of Vigor - see previous comment

Siegecraft - Eldrazi Conscription is one of the best auras in the game, but Battle Mastery is nice too

Not Forgotten - Rest in Peace, Ashnod's Altar

Sunlance - any other removal that I've mentioned

Also consider Sphere of Safety.

I hope all this helps! ^^" it took a bit to write up but I think it'll help introduce you to some staples and ways about thinking about deckbuilding and power level. I sent you a friend request so that we can keep in touch and so that I can see and help you with your future decks!

Yesterday on How does Kestia and Weaver …

There are plenty of examples of both cases, but in this case it's four separate triggers. If you're only copying one trigger, you'd only get to draw 1 extra card.

Kestia is worded "Whenever an enchanted creature ...", which means that it triggers individually per attacking creature. Some cards are worded like Ancestor Dragon (whenever one or more creatures you control attack/whenever you attack with one or more creatures) and trigger only once, but still gain the benefit from the number of attacking creatures.

Hey, well done, nice update especially the cutting of Knights for more Dragons. Nice upgrades of cards that care about Dragons, but you could expand on this further. You've doubled your budget by adding only three Dragons.

Streamlining is the process of cutting out filler cards leaving you with cards that matter more for your deck. Blood Knight and Silver Knight are vanilla Knights who don't really help gameplay thus my advice is avoid these types of Knights. You're still playing too many Knights that are not helping gameplay.

My advice is don't include a Knight because it's a Knight, being a Knight is a bonus. Instead include it because it has other good abilities that can help Dragons or efficiently make Sylvia better. Taurean Mauler is an exception, it's just a three drop Dragon that's also a Knight. It's both types of creatures as well as can grow big in multiplayer Commander when have many opponents which is good with double strike. Instead of playing many four drop Knights play four drop Dragons?

You also use streamlining to better the mana curve which helps gameplay by reducing the curve which happens when you cut out unnecessary high CMC cards such as Rowan's Stalwarts, Worldgorger Dragon, Ancestor Dragon, Caged Sun. Worldgorger Dragon is only good in decks that want to combo with Animate Dead to make infinite mana and infinite ETB triggers of creatures. You can't combo with Worldgorger, all it's doing here is exiling all your permanents including all your lands until it leaves the battlefield which would hurt gameplay more than help it. Rowan's Stalwarts tutoring for Rowan, Fearless Sparkmage is not worth it since Stalwarts is a really bad card for five mana and Rowan is subpar for five mana too.

Example of a streamlined midrange creature base with Dragons and some Knights (sorted by CMC):

The few Knights in this example give you more than just being a Knight and the emphasis is even more on Dragons not Knights. More four and five drop Dragons to take more advantage of early game ramp and Sylvia's double strike.

In the example the high CMC Dragons have been reduced to the best ones you have. Khorvath is also a high CMC Dragon who you want to cast. Worldgorger Dragon, Ancestor Dragon, Demanding Dragon, Eternal Dragon, Sunscorch Regent, Runehorn Hellkite, Skyline Despot are subpar compared to the other high CMC Dragons here thus you don't need them. In the place of one of these Dragons consider adding Sarkhan's Triumph? It's an instant tutor to search for any Dragon letting you choose the best Dragon at that point of the game.

Shall I continue in another comment about how to streamline other areas of your deck?

you may be better off pretending its a mono-white deck with Khorvath Brightflame at the helm. Which isnt that far off from the list -the few bulk dragons.

It may be tedious, but adding lands will help immensely, both from a "commander decks with partner have a 98 card deck" stance, but also help you tune the manabase to fit your curve and deckoverall.

budget knights like Benalish Marshal , Kabira Vindicator , Lightwielder Paladin , Riftmarked Knight , and Valiant Knight may be taking a look at, as are some less budget like Knight Exemplar or Kinsbaile Cavalier

if you are interested in more dragons, Ancestor Dragon , Scalelord Reckoner , Sunscorch Regent , Dream Pillager , Moltensteel Dragon and Tyrant's Familiar may be a good starting point.

i would also consider cards like Sigiled Sword of Valeron , Gideon's Phalanx , Militant Angel , Waylay or cards like Changeling Hero

that all being said, best of luck in completing the deck .... i may have to built a KNIGHT deck now (with a dragon commander)

I also like Sun Droplet, Pristine Talisman, Path of Bravery, Twilight Prophet, Invoke the Divine and Blind Obedience.

Some weak cards I can spot are: Lena, Selfless Champion, Ancestor Dragon, Abhorrent Overlord, Flaying Tendrils. Also, the White sun seems like overkill - dumping all your mana that this deck has so many amazing ways of using into JUST 2/2 cats seems like a waste to me.

hejtmane I realize that samurai tribal isn't the strongest idea out there. That's partially the reason I wanted to build this deck. I like the idea with Sensei Golden-Tail. I'll look into it. As for Ancestor Dragon, I'm really digging it. I'm a really big fan of the art work. I'll definatly consider Ring of Thune and Citadel Siege. Thanks for your help!
