I’m thinking that because Sphinx of the Chimes ability is a cost, you wouldn’t be able to discard two to the top of the library and then draw four? Is that correct?

9-lives honestly, I know next to nothing about Warhammer 40K, but looking at their lore it looks like something they might say. They do seem to like bells, lol. But the name of this deck is just derived from the Sphinx of the Chimes because I thought it sounded cool.

king-saproling Thrumming stone would definitely work well with Persistent Petitioners and I have debated seeking out that card in paper. Sadly though it is a rather pricey card. I would probably purchase a Bruvac the Grandiloquent as a better commander slot before I get Thrumming Stone.

As for Sphinx of the Chimes and Echoing Truth, both of those options are cheap purchases and make for good card draw and protection synergy with petitioners. I will definitely have to keep my eye out for those in paper. Thank you for the great suggestions!

Thanks Grind!

It could use a couple more lands, and I might be able to swap out for that.... but I need to pick wisely, and don’t want to mess with any of the pairs of cards already in to help w/ Sphinx of the Chimes ability....

In no particular order, I've got some suggestions you might have a look at. Some cards are just to round out the deck and give you a little more defensive capability, and others are to fully lean-into the self-mill theme you've got going. In particular, you might want to put in more blink effects so you can tap your Petitioners more than once per turn/round.

Still a super freaking cool concept! It turns what the card was MEANT to do on its head, and makes it that much more potent (it's easier to mill just one person-- yourself-- than it is to try and handle all your opponents at once instead).
