I understand, you want to keep your playstyle and i respect that.

The problem i see with your strategy is that you want to play a slower deck. Slower decks means control. Therefore you have nothing to protect your field and dont have much to prevent your opponent from building his own strategy.

With this idea in mind, i suggest taking the White part out and replacing it for either green or blue:

Green:

- Wild Mongrel for really good discard and placing you opponent in difficult positions when you attack or block

- Reclaim / Salvage for getting Exhume back from graveyard

- Vines of Vastwood to protect those creatures from stuff like Journey to Nowhere

-Anything that makes you gain mana faster

Blue:

- Counterspell or any counter

- Muddle the Mixture to get Exhume faster

-Anything that makes you draw

Finally, your biggest fatest boy is Ulamog's Crusher . One single attack with him can give you victory instantly. Problem is you give your opponent one entire turn to react. Unsummon Boom! He pays only one mana and you have to start all over. The fact that you have Dragon Breath (even if its only one) that can kill him instantly will prevent him from spending his mana to fast. Therefore, making your deck more resilient.

griffstick Thanks for the sharing the experience. That was really insightful. Were the games you played 1 v 1 or multiplayer format?

I play 3 recursion spells (in the process of acquiring a 4th - Salvage ) just in case the key cards get removed/countered.

My choice of pingers was mainly for the flavor and funkiness, since I like quirky and unique decks.

I fully agree with you that adding in loads of Counterspell, would make this deck more consistent and less susceptible to disruption. However, I'm not a big fan of Counterspells, especially in a casual format like pauper EDH, as I believe in letting others do their thing.

Interestingly, I recently recommended Satyr Enchanter to a friend in my play group as a good Pauper EDH commander. I'm looking forward to the match up with him after what you said above. I'd come back and share with you how the game(s) went if we managed to squeeze in a few games soon. Cheers!

then, what about some cards to take back Captured Sunlight or something else from graveyard? like Salvage (there's also Elven Cache but i don't really see this cost in the deck's mechanics)

Perhaps consider taking out the Hyena Umbra and include green recursion like Rofellos's Gift, Reclaim or Salvage to return those cards to your hand/ top of library?

Here's a list of the cards I dug up which return dragons from GY to deck for scion re-use.

Priorities:
- efficiently costed
- reusable
- returns multiple dragons

Secondary Concerns:
- doesn't make us draw the dragon by putting it on top (ur dragon shuffles stuff away when you use it though)
- instant speed
- difficult to destroy/interact with - other utility (such as a secondary effect, or having a decent body)

You desperately need to shave off some of your average converted mana cost. EDH is primarily a format centered around resource management. If you're not able to cast spells, you're probably going to do poorly. I would be very careful of making a deck that's not between 2.0 and 3.5 without a reason for most player groups.

I get that you can cast cards off the top of your library with Intet for free, so you want them to be good ones, but there are ways to stack your deck without too much effort. Thassa, God of the Sea, Worldly Tutor, Personal Tutor, Mystical Tutor, False Mourning, Mirri's Guile, Reclaim, Salvage, Sylvan Tutor, and Noxious Revival are all ways to do that. There's more as well, but you only really need a few. This way you can run few high-costing creatures. Some of the ones I mentioned are pretty expensive.

I recommend you include more ramp in this deck. Think of cards like Cultivate and Kodama's Reach. Add some sources of haste too. Fires of Yavimaya. I would also include some card draw and reactive cards.

Let me know if you need me to go into more specific detail about anything I mentioned or if you want more specific help. You could ask me, for example, what cards do I think you should cut or how would I make this deck both cheaper and better.
