the mana cost isnt much of a worry since 3/4 of the deck is black having this combination is not much to worry about.
Legendary Enchantment
legendary enchantment means that i only need 1 of them but i still keep it as a 4 of, this is because it is not only vital to win with the combo but the dedck has alot of inbuilt lifegain the abuse it and as soon as it comes the deck begins to shine. having more then 1 in a game can be avoided (or not feel as bad to draw) as there is lots of card draw and filtering, also once one is out it can be exiled to its 4th ability.
Hexproof
this would be unplayable without this ability this also mean you can have no fear about discarding or exiling any other copies as this one isnt going anywhere

from winning the game but that is rotating out at the end of year and i built this deck so only a few uninportant cards rotate

all these draft chaff suddenly become rediculously op that fit into the deck nicely adding immence card advantage
Whenever you lose life, for each 1 life you lost, exile a permanent you control or a card from your hand or graveyard.
the deck is built so when this enters play you should have a cozy buffer on averge of about 10 cards and be able to explode with lifegain or atleast scrape through till upkeep to win the game
When Lich's Mastery leaves the battlefield, you lose the game.

its pretty greedy of me to only have 2 plains in the deck but will all the draw and fatching effects, its not often that you will lack the colour to cast this

note: the effect of swapping life basically means the opponent loses or gain life to become equal to yours and vise versa, so with

out if you can't win swapping life totals if you are behind will let you draw a bunch of cards which is quite nice

nice and early for a easy mana investment, probably the lowest priority on the 2 mana slot however,

needs to get working as fast as it can and the 2 drop creatures clogging up the board to get

value should be done as fast as they can as they provide instant value

this is how you get your life to 0 preferably, its the best card as it digs for combo early game and late game, in responce to
Axis of Mortality
trigger, tap 2 land, 2 life, sac the land you tapped, repeat. and also compard to an alternative like
Adanto Vanguard
its more controlable. like if you dont want to sac the land you have just drawn cards that if they arnt of any value can just be exiled instead
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have 5 or less life, you may transform Arguel's Blood Fast.
the flip side is pretty bad with the creatures but this is a MAY ability meaing that you dont have to transform if you dont want to which is quite nice.
