Vicious Offering Discussion

Eh, after thinking about it Thallid Soothsayer probably isn't worth the spot. Maybe if it cost 3 mana because there's other things you'd rather play on Turn 4, and it doesn't do much by itself.
And every time I've seen Costly Plunder it's been a good card. If anything, it's an uncounterable sacrifice effect to protect your Elenda, the Dusk Rose or Poison-Tip Archer from exile effects like Ixalan's Binding or Settle the Wreckage (or whatever).
I also don't see any removal besides Vicious Offering. If you can, Assassin's Trophy is a great card to have as it can deal with pretty much everything.

Milling your opponent for 6-9 a turn and getting 2-3 of their cards sounds pretty good! I was just counting, and with bounce spells and removal like Vicious Offering which does little against control I could easily side in both Thief of Sanity and Blackblade Reforged plus all the anti-control tech.
Again, thanks a lot for commenting! It's been really helpful! :D

Honor guards right now at most creature based white decks. There are 4 offs in the updated version of boros angels in the current gp... Tech born because of ramoant BG decks.

Hi! It seems like a cool idea, but I think it needs a bit of focus. As you say, the deck seems more Midrange, but both Knight of Malice and Knight of Grace seem to be more Agro than Midrange. I think I would swap those for a playset of Demon of Catastrophes, a 6/6 flyer for 4 mana (even if you have to sacrifice something relevant) is probably a big threat that ends games!
On the other hand, Hunted Witness seems like it could be a cool include in the deck, it's quite a nice sacrifice target for your Demon. Or maybe even Vicious Offering, which comes handy in the agro matches. Also the Witness gives you tokens to sacrifice to the demon or Torgaar.
Finally, I understand you're including Discovery / Dispersal mostly as a card draw spell. I think it would be better to include Arguel's Blood Fast Flip in the maindeck, and side it out against the red. Or maybe not, I'm not sure about this one to be honest.
In general I think is a cool concept, only needs a bit of tuning in my opinion. Have fun brewing! :D

Another alternative for Release to the Wind, actually even better, would be Siren's Ruse. It costs less, returns the creature to the battlefield as a new body and it could save your creature instead of a counterspell, because the killing spell loses a target. What makes this card even better is after you attacked with Etrata and put a hit counter on enemy creature, you can use it. Your Etrata will be untapped and the enemy will have another creature with a hit counter.
I would replace 4xVicious Offering for 2xMoment of Craving and 2xPrice of Fame. I don't like the sacrifice cost you have added as all creatures are valuable, plus Price of Fame costs 2 mana vs legendary creatures and you get to surveil 2.
Sorry if i wrote too much. This Eltrata deck has been on my mind for the past 1 week and i have done so much research and tried many stuff on MTG:Arena. Hope i was useful :)

I did consider those cards for the deck, but if I think that Narcomoeba and Creeping Chill are much better in a turbo Surveil deck, in which case I would probably cut Etrata, the Silencer in the first place. An interesting option is Enhanced Surveillance just to find Etrata more easily, and I might cut Search for Azcanta if testing I have enough surveil. I'm definitely considering that!
I thought of Helm of the Host but it seems really mana intensive. I could also attack with the first token, and with both the token and Etrata the next turn, no need to hold them back. But I'm not sure it's worth mana-wise. On the other hand, Rona, Disciple of Gix might be fine in the sideboard. I can only cast Etrata if I exile her with Rona, but it might be a reliable "reanimation spell" ish if I end up sacrificing Etrata often to Vicious Offering or alike. Other than that, I don't think is worth a slot in the sideboard.
Thanks a lot for commenting, and for the suggestions! It's much appreciated! :D

I'd be happy to help EPICSpider23, grave based decks are my jam. To get off the ground you need creatures in your graveyard; the best budget option for this being a set of Glowspore Shaman pulling double duty by milling 3 and letting you ensure a land drop next turn if needed, followed by a mix of Ixalli's Diviner and Seekers' Squire, Stitcher's Supplier being a bit more expensive option. Path of Discovery may also be a sleeper for this deck that is worth testing with the amount of creature recursion and token production you'll have going on. Black gives you fantastice reanimation options, I'd personally take out some or all of of Bishop of Rebirth and 1 Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle to add in 1-2 Isareth the Awakener depending on how heavy you want to go on black, and a mix of Whisper, Blood Liturgist and Journey to Eternity Flip. Bone Dragon has fantastic synergy with Desecrated Tomb because you get one trigger when you pay the cost of its ability, and another when it resolves so it would make a nice one of. I'd put in one or two higher CMC reanimation targets that will win the game as well such as: Lotleth Giant, Vigorspore Wurm, Izoni, Thousand-Eyed, Vampire Sovereign, or Pelakka Wurm; you can use discard tech like Macabre Waltz to help get them out of your hand if you find them difficult to cast. You also are seriously lacking removal: Cast Down, Vicious Offering, Price of Fame, and Seal Away are all fantastic options. You'll have to figure out how to balance the mana base yourself based on the weight of each of your colors. The last peice of advice I can give is to remember that this is your deck and only you have to like

Great Stuff, I've also been trying to compile a deck around Etrata, the Silencer. I included copies of both Narcomoeba and Creeping Chill to ultimately thin the deck out to draw Lazav, the Multifarious, and Etrata more often.
Since the Narcomoebas have flying I included copies of Nightveil Sprite, and a Favorable Winds. I was thinking that the Nacromoebas, in addition to thinning the deck, could serve as extra bodies to pump up Necrotic Wound, provide Vicious Offering fodder in a pinch, and become decent blockers in tandem with the Nightveil Sprites under the affects of Favorable Winds.
If you end up drawing Creeping Chills you can always just discard them with jump-start, and shuffle them back into your deck later with Enhanced Surveillance
What do you think?
